    Well he did live here in America (LA) for roughly 6 months last year, 2023. He's been exploring Jazz and Blues sounds. Yes, the average listener wouldn't understand what Dimash can do with just this song. But the point is to get his name known in the Western world, so he can showcase his talent freely.
    As a true fan, we don't expect the crazy vocals, but appreciate it when it happens.

    Dimash not only has 7 octaves of voice, he is a complete musician and here he shows it, I love this song, for me one of the best he has, even many other people have said the same as me, it is a music that welcomes more types of the public, besides, it is not an easy song to sing since it is always between the 4th and 5th octave, apart from all the rifts, which means that they are not easy at all, I don't know what else they want... but hey, It doesn't rain to everyone's liking, greetings.🤗💪🏻

    Your reaction is understandable because you don't listen to Dimash regularly. In various songs he has shown traits of blues, rock, jazz, but now he has combined them in a single song and that is what makes it very enjoyable. If you listen to it from a different perspective, that is, without expecting anything in particular, you will be able to enjoy the melody and his vocal skills. It is also true that it is an ideal song to be broadcast on radio stations or popular music channels, and surely for those who hear Dimash for the first time with this song (most of them), they will look for more songs from him and find things that will literally blow their minds, such as It has happened to you and us. It's nice to see you again.

    LOVE this song! I have listened so many times and haven’t tired of it. Dimash is already known for bending genres and this combines multiple genres and from what I’ve seen, many people love this, but we don’t think that Dimash will abandon his traditional music either. This is definitely one that we can sing along with. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

    Dimash is a genius!
    A great storyteller and paradigm breaker!
    Anyone who watched the video, made by a fan with his cell phone, of Dimash's show in Hong Kong, had the pleasure of a first contact with the song “When I've Got You” and realized, in Dimash's own music and in the lyrics by Candice Kelly and Dmytro Gordon, a romantic, seductive and passionate song sung with Dimash's own virtuosity. There was tension and anxiety in being able to watch the studio version with better sound quality...
    Now, with the release of this music video, we realize how creative Dimash is:
    A suspense video with a “noir” atmosphere, but without being located in the past, and a tale of passion about a supernatural creature who feels alone and needs to fulfill his passion for a mortal woman who suffers for wanting and not wanting turn her into one of his supernatural creatures.
    Iskander Yerbolat's plot intrigues us to solve the mystery of the entire tale being a dream of a journalist who interviews “DQ”, or being a reality where the “vampire” did not bite his “prey” out of love! Intriguing...
    The video is a show in itself: Desaturated with vivid red details (umbrella, blood in the hands, blood in the pool, advertising sign, neon on the mirror...), a classic Rolls Royce, a gloomy and modern mansion and lots of details.
    As background music, he uses the work “Flower Duet” (Lakimé) by Léo Delibes. To create an old and suspenseful atmosphere, he does not use the 1968 edition and recording, by Joan Sutherland and Jane Berbié, but rather the original version from 1915, sung by Alexandrovna Mikhailova and Ivanovna Panina, recorded with a gramophone!
    The music video is a story that pays homage to several classic dramas involving supernatural creatures and passion! The impeccable editing with precise cuts that complete the script, simple and extremely efficient effects and masterful performances: Dimash (the seductive and tormented vampire, Polina Guzieva (the passionate journalist), Manuel de Jesús Sánchez Sotolongo (the sinister butler) and the harem of soulless vampires (Angelin Sapozhnikova, Valeriya Lyasheva, Andreana Tkachenko, Maria Aristatarkhova, Lilia Kiser and Klinnyushina Alina), superb!
    The music is a show in itself: a mix of Blue, Scat, Jazz, R&B, Rock... Captivating variations: a bridge to the chorus full of strength and seduction and a beautiful chorus inspired by classic rock and dexterity and Dimash's agility! In addition to the well-placed guitar solo performed by Abik Jeksen!
    The video captures and captivates from the beginning to the sign, which we let pass while still mesmerized by the “spell” of the vampire who can break the fourth wall!
    A giant, masterful, modern work that makes you want to watch it several times!
    1000 out of 10!
    Hugs from a Brazilian!

    This song is a mix of blues, R&B, 90's rock, it is a magnificent song and in terms of its vocal range it gives what the song requires, no more no less. And that is the right thing to do. Even if you have a very extensive vocal range, you won't always have to use it if the song doesn't need it. Dimash is the most versatile artist I know. At the press conference he said that his audience is from different countries, with different musical tastes and different ages and that he wants to please everyone. We also know that he likes to create music of different genres and I love that. You can't try to pigeonhole Dimash. From what he said we could soon see him singing jazz or soul, that's good, I really want to. So I say, Dimash, yes, please, continue creating whatever you want. That's the great advantage of being independent and what I love about Dimash 👌

    Yes, Dimash came to the USA for 2 reasons; to learn & study jazz, rhythm & blues & soul and to coordinate with the music producers like David Foster but it seemed like it did not work because Dimash is very independent & wanted his music not the American music producers. He stated that he was not ready to go on a contract, perhaps later. Dimash owns his production, his own compositions & lyrics although someone translates the lyrics to English . So I don’t blame him at this point in time.

    @bejewel4669 7 месяцев назад +46

    Hmm, I don't think you have heard much of Dimash's repertoire. He has every style known to man and mixes them up in one song beautifully so there is no one Dimash style at all. I agree that you need to watch one of his concerts where you can see a plethora of types of music and genres in his 3+ hr concerts. My favorite song is whatever song Dimash happens to be singing at the moment but just listen to "If I Never Breathe Again" and "Give Me Love" (Mahabbat Ber Magan) and many like these. No high notes at all just gorgeous songs sung in Dimash's beautiful dynamics and tone.
    FYI, after he composed the song and filmed this video (although just recently released he sang it live in Hong Kong in Dec 2023), Dimash sang a duet with Placido Domingo in Dec 2023. A 100% classical opera excerpt The Pearl Fishers duet in French. Dimash sings what he wants and does what he wants.

    Dimash always says he loves and wants to try himself in all genres. He sings pop, he raps, he has always done that. And here we have a gorgeous mixture of blues and rock and some other styles. And the runs are amazing. Like, it comes as a surprise to you that he always tries something different? After he composed this he sang a classical duet with Domingo and before that the slow Omir, and jazzy Dudarai, and before that crossover in Spanish, etc. You haven't reacted to enough of his songs to understand his versatility. Pop songs like Give Me Your Love and Be with Me have always been part of his repertoire, and jazz and blues are now added to the mix. That's ok, you don't have to like everything, but I do.

  • @debbiemorgan859
    @debbiemorgan859 7 месяцев назад +122

    Lol you really haven't dived far enough down the rabbit hole. When Dimash broke through in China he was essentially a pop artist occasionally working with composers who would exploit his wide range, then he met Igor Krutoy who turned him into what some people refer to as a "circus act"
    Dimash has said in numerous interviews that his range is not important and he even refuses to divulge his full range and that he doesn't feel it's important to his fans either so when he writes for himself he focuses on dynamics, styles and the kind of music he's really interested in.
    When it's a Dimash composition you are getting the authentic Dimash doing what he does best, making great music.

    • @FretsOnFire
      @FretsOnFire 7 месяцев назад +13

      In fairness, I love all the "circus acts" by Krutoy, and besides, in songs like El amor en ti & The Story of One Sky, Dimash shows off his range in ways that aren't all that different from how Igor shows off his range - and I love every microsecond! I just see it as Dimash has epic songs, pop songs, Kazakh songs, etc, etc. I think he picked up a lot of knowledge from Piergiuseppe & igor, especially Igor, I am hearing a big difference in his compositions since the time he worked with both of them. Being a genius, Dimash picks up things extremely quickly. But I love the various directions I see his compositions going in now, pure FIRE & genius!!

    • @FretsOnFire
      @FretsOnFire 7 месяцев назад +5

      I should also add that I think Dimash has absorbed a lot of knowledge about arranging from his friend Yerlan - he is such an unsung hero, because he doesn't perform on stage but is doing a LOT behind the scenes!

It does show off some very difficult aspects of singing, but I guess, not,as you say, what Dimash can do. Dimash did spend some time in the States, so it will be interesting to see what types of influences he will show us. @@dorotheemoller457 I agree with you,that Dimash was doing many different styles of music before Igor. I don’t believe Igor was a collaborator in this particular song. What I mean. Foremost, is that Dimash has been independent, and has followed his heart,as pertaining to music, and what , and how he wants to deliver his art. I hope Dimash continues to follow HIS DREAMS,not the just the COMMERCIAL path, that may compromise his great DEPTH, and HONEST artistic expression. I just believe ( my opinion) that this song will appeal to a majority of his DEARS, and many others who hear him for the first time. But I contend, that Dimash is so much MORE than “ When I Got You.” I respect,and admire Dimash, so much, and do not wish to see him give up his autonomy, or his high standards. How can you say it's repetitive when he is singing those amazing runs. Maybe you don't like R&B and not everyone likes every song, ( personally I love it) but I think this was an undeservedly negative reaction.

    • @JustMyOpinion1010
      @JustMyOpinion1010 7 месяцев назад +12

      He's referring to the lyrics. It is repetitive. But so again are most songs these days. Mostly he's sliding through a string of indistinguishable words in the chorus, not riffs. Personally I really like this song since it'sa bit differentand I like rock, but I wouldn't like all his songs to sound like this. You can't expect someone to be overwhelmed and totally in love with everything he sings. You feel he was unnecessarily criticl because he didn't like the song too much. But you're also being overly critical because you want him to feel the same way you do. He likes it, but he prefers the other genres. That's it

    • @martinhafner2201
      @martinhafner2201 7 месяцев назад +5

      The song is pretty good, but it is a little too A-B-A-B and could use a long bridge or some kind of weird fantasy break. While I was listening, I was hoping for more variations to break up the pattern, but they didn't come. He hasn't been writing this kind of music that long, so it is important to be honest so he can grow. He may be keeping it simple for U.S. audiences and may have oversimplified a little. It might be just a matter of letting him know he can mix up the structure a little more.

    Somewhere...in the midst of various concert tour dates internationally, guest judging at various song competitions, and performing pure opera with Placido Domingo, and producing a music video with his talented brother; Mansur, the Powerhouse, that is Dimash, also managed to spend some time recently in The States, where he was 'networking' and studying Film Production.
    You're right; this one - to the 'uneducated ear' - just hints at all that he is capable of, and is aimed at a specific market, and yet, by includng multiple genres here also it triggers interest in exploring more. So, to my mind, it's more of an exploratory 'teaser', than a 'whole new direction'. I can't see Dimash sticking to any one style for long, he's having too much fun! Besides, I think we Love 'Count Dimash'! Looking now for a Sequel. >> Is she 'possessed'?! Will she return to him? Will she become yet another of his 'vampire brides'!? Or wil she stand seperate and truly be his 'Gateway To heaven'???
    Here Dimash - and his very impressive production team - gives lot's of 'nods and winks' to pop culture, music and films like 'Interview With a Wampire and MJ's 'Thriller' etc. etc. Be interesting to see where he heads next! 😆😉

    It's Count Dimash repetitive? that's what chorus' are typically! all Dimash songs are miles different from each other and similarly distinct in the colours and tones that are uniquely his. I don't know of any American artist who sings in the same style he does so I don't understand your comment on the American influence on this piece when its clear that most American singers do contemporary pop style most, if not ALL the time. Dimash brings breakthrough songs with his repertoire of 'unusual' crossovers. Count Dracula is Transylvanian/ old Europe folklore (no American influence there), the vinyl/ segment at the beginning and ending is "The Flower Duet" a 19th century French tragic romance opera which fits the character of Count Dracula! Genius! Dimash incorporates it in this piece setting the scene in history and the tragedy of Count Dracula's search for his true love. Dimash's CREATIVITY is through the roof! With him, we get to witness and appreciate the artistic dimension that is missing so much in the commercialisation of the art of music which is supposed to uplift the human spirit, and advance our experience of joy and appreciation for the arts and the finer things in life. Dimash knows this well. and it's why I never get bored with his work. No run 'o the mill gimmicks. Just pure art.

      Dimash is Dimash and he'll do what he wants when he wants, what was it he said at the Istanbul news conference? "Don't be surprised if I switch to soul or jazz next and we'd only seen about 30% of his ability so far.

    I don't agree with you when you say we only love him because of the things he can do. By that you probably mean the vocal acrobatics. Although that's something that makes him so unique. It's the way he sings something and it doesn't matter how many octaves he does it in. We love his passion, the emotions he puts into every single one of his songs, even if the song only has 2 or 3 octaves. We mainly love Dimash the person. Who is incredibly humble and generous and constantly advocates for peace whenever she gets the chance. I love this song. It's phantastic and one of his best work. But it's just my opinion😊. Taste differs and that's ok.
    Greetings and love from Germany👋❤️

      Vor allem ist Dimash eben auch dann immer noch einer der besten der Welt, wenn er nicht seine ganze Stimmbreite verwendet. Ein gutes Beispiel dafür ist Omir😇- Außerdem würde ich mal behaupten, daß WIGY sehr schwer zu singen ist. Bin gespannt, ob es weitere Cover Versionen geben wird.

    Dimash was living in the USA for a while (I think it was then that he wrote this song). I really like this song, but I think I prefer his more "classical" songs. I believe Dimash said that people think he only likes to sing neoclassical music, but he actually likes all kinds. I think he would like to try to sing all of the different kinds of music he likes, just for the enjoyment and challenge of it. I also think he is trying to make a move to be more known (and played) in the US. Just my thoughts. 🇨🇦

    Yes, very American wiith the soul/blues sound and the repetitive lyrics. Can't ask too much of the audience if you want to get on the radio, afterall. They want words easy to sing along with, not stuff that makes them think. The next one might be along the same radio friendly vein, "Smoke" coming SOON!

    Most hit songs are songs you can sing some parts with, and choruses are repetitive. I am glad he is inviting the western people to enjoy his music. Honestly 99 percent of the western people go by how a song makes them feel not how his range is, here from a SoCal gal!

    I get the perspective, but something I appreciate here is that I don't know anyone else doing this older style of music and production in this way. It's kind of nostalgic, and I don't know how many can actually pull off mimicking the style so well, as if it were actually from the time.

    Hello, that's is an "interesting" review 🤔.... "repetitive, expect something more, is this the end of it?"
    Are we listening to the same Dimash?
    What exactly did you expect? Not every song needs crazy high notes or deep lyrics. You have to remember that Dimash always serves the musical material, the essence of the project, not his ego.
    Also Dimash hasn't moved to US, he was just working there using a record studio as well as he works in China or Kazakhstan.
    Very disappointed in this review. You RUclipsrs are getting spoiled. Most singers can't do what Dimash does and that is still not enough for you?

    He isn't striving for one style, his "style" ever changes and it will change from one to another. He has always done what he wants. His parents both have said in interviews that he is very stubborn to get what he wants. Yes, he did come to the US, and originally came on a scholarship for study in film, but he gave that to someone else. He did study with David Foster and several others, but not to sign a contact here in the US, just to learn.

    Mi presento, sono un musicista professionista session man italiano e lavoro nelle TV più importanti d'Italia come bassista oltre a suonare con artisti di grosso calibro internazionali, detto ciò anch'io ho analizzato il brano e il video ma non voglio parlare di ciò che ho reazionato ma che in questo video più song vi è oltre ad un lato oscuro di Dimash mai ascoltato un ritorno al passato ma il nostro passato occidentale, innanzitutto la struttura del brano con la presenza del bridge prima del ritornello, la strofa anche se rock con un basso accentuato con sopra un chiarissimo synt oberame e dalla seconda strofa in poi quando il rullante tipo Dixon per la potenza che ha vi sono registrate voci di Dimash in ruggito è un blues tipo Stivie Ray Vaughan o Gary Moore, l'assolo di chitarra è in pdntatonica non vi sono accenti mediorientali e si intuisce che è di una Fender Stratocaster standard anni 80 e nel ritornello terzinato vi è una chiarissima influenza di Elvis Prisley, è un cambiamento che porterà Dimash su altre sorprese, vedremo..
