What a brilliant level of detail, these aren't the same forks that I have on my 05 Gas Gas but I still learned a few things, and not just that my work space sucks compared to yours.
Travis, excellent video, very clear and professional. I just bought new 2018 Beta xtrainer. Would you be willing to do a video on how to install the Beta suspension lowering kit for front and rear? Us short legged riders would greatly appreciate it, plus servicing those forks would be great. The xtrainer has a less expensive brand front and rear as you know. Thanks!
Very nice video, thanks for sharing it with us! One question on the ZF forks - when you remove the bottom base bolt ( after heating it), is it enough to unscrew it or do you need some tool to block from the inner tube? I have myself the 2019 ZF forks ( the ones with all controls for damp and rebound on top of the fork), and at least on the manual it seems the inner blocking tool is required. Or is the Makita enough?
Hello i need help with a small problem of mine with the open cartridge sachs forks for the beta 350 made in 2015-16, they dont bleed out anymore after i changed the oil and i noticed it has to do something with the spacers order in the rebound cap, precisely the two first spacers (one of them with a small hole) inside the cap. I thought i did assemble everything just like i found it when i disassembled it but now i am not sure since i can't find any desing or video mentioning this. Before, the forks would bleed out air after each ride, now they bleed out only after i open the cap and a lot of pressure comes out. I tried to invert the order in wich they are positioned but with no results, maybe i have to match the spacer with the hole along with the bleed hole of the cap? the problem is that when i put the cap and thread it the spacers inside rotate thus (i think) they change the hole position. Also ive lost that very small metal ball responsible for the clicker sound and i have no idea where should i look for a new one.
Also the spring should move freely without any friction on the spring guide or it should be a little tight just like it is with mine ? Sometimes i have to rotate the spring counter clockwise to get it out of the spring guide.
Hi, could you please help me? I have a Red Marzocchi fork, I have changed the springs for softer ones and 2,5 Sae Oil but the fork is very hard for me, still remain the last 6 or 7cm unused. Can I remove some oil from the closed cartridge in order to use all fork travel or is mandatory that closed cartridge is oil full?
