Easily the best drum solo in history.
What about the amazing guitar solos?
And that scatting tho! Who literally says muthah fuckin skit skat!?
But this is just a tribute.
Theres better in the metal and in 21'st century shizoid man
Still, stunning.
It's a real compliment that the Beatles went on to cover this.
you know, i never realized that before
especially going back in time to do it too
😅😅😅
But they could never hope to match Jables & KG energy... But nice try it was.
That drum solo brought me to tears 😢

jack black is perfect for baby talk. LOL!!!!!!1!!!!!
Jack Black's superpower is being able to scream at the top of his lungs in perfect pitch.
And being an amazing, caring, kind human being!

Jack Black is unironically a supremely talented vocalist, I'm convinced he's one of the best there has ever been lmao
No m-f-in skit skat ;)
wonderboy…
It's great how modern recording techniques can change one's understanding of an older song.
For example I never realised that McCartney was singing "Monday morning hit the sack, what the fuck y'all lickin' my crack"
Incredible.
Lmfao
And that part in The End.
I thought they always said Love You. I now realize they were singing Oh Shit.
I just choked.
Bwahahhaha
So glad everyone in this thread "got the joke", I was nervous hitting the 'show replies' link but I had to know. Glad to be a Tenacious fan
Didn’t expect the best drum solo in history to come from Tenacious D, a band with no drummer, but here we are.
A tribute by a band with no drummer of a band where the drummer wasn't the best drummer
@@kubafrank96 For one, that's a fake quote by John or Paul, whoever people think said it. It was never said. Second, Ringo is one of the greatest drummers of all time.
They had no drummer, but also simultaneously had a phenomenal drummer... The Devil... aka Dave Grohl
SENSEI MIKE PORTNOY was green with envy 😄
They just weren't comfortable being a Power Trio!
the line "Skit, Skat and da modafockin skiskat fockin skats" bring tears to my eyes everytime
Somehow the funniest part of the whole thing.
Been drumming for 15 years and NEVER BEFORE have I heard such a beautiful drum solo!!!
Literally changed my life
And Just Like That, The “D” Was Back 🖤🙏🏼
The sun had set
The chapter had closed
But one thing no one thought about was:
The d would rise again!

They've never left.

Even though Tenacious D never leaves they have the best comebacks ever
"Masterpiece" isn't a term that should be thrown around lightly...but this is a fucking masterpiece.

It's incredibly obvious! Pure talent just oozes out of these two
What came first, the Beatle or the D...
They had the pick in their time
They really need an entire album of these wonderful covers. I'll never hear Abby Road the same way again.

Jack is truly one of those underrated singers in entertainment today. His vocal talents match or even outshine his acting at times! Kyle is also one of the truly unappreciated guitar players out there as well! I just have to say, these two are a powerhouse of rock to be reckoned with!
it's jack black, you know he's not underrated
My 20mo daughter adores this. She watches from start to finish with a focussed intensity. Except when Jack starts drumming, she gets really into that and air drums with him. Super adorable and wholesome. The kid’s got good taste!
20 years ago, I was like “never change” and they never did.
Facts
Well, their liveshow changed. From an act of two guys with acoustic guitars that focused on their pesonalities and chemistry that was memorable to a full band that had hardly anything going on that seperated them from all the other bands you see on stage. I'd like them to keep the band for studio recordings and keep the live performance to just Jack and Kyle wth the occasional guest.
@@ShrapNello it'd be cool for them to do an Unplugged D uo Tour from time to time, but the band is fantastic & the songs are still GD epic. They managed to expand their music beyond 2 guitars but keep the spirit, which few can get away with...
They just got sillier.
@@ShrapNello I've never seen one of their live shows, but I distinctly remember the dissonance of hearing one of their albums for the first time. Was so shocked to hear a full band when all I'd ever heard prior to that were the acoustic songs from the HBO show. To me, the punchline of the joke has always been "we think we're hard as fuck on our acoustic guitars," and adding an electric guitar just takes that magic out of it
"What the fuck yo, licka my crack"
They truly have surpassed the source material
I didn't think it was possible, yet here we are.
high praise thank you

This is how they've been doing this song in concert for...a decade or more? Not sure, but it's great to hear a "studio" version :)

I doubt there will be a new movie. The first one FLOPPED. I liked it alot tho
This song takes me back to simpler days, where everyone got along so well and life was simple an wholesome.
It is my heartfelt belief that Jack's true calling is music, and that he belongs beside KG in that calling. Together, they make a seriously fantastic experience, and I pray they never stop.
That last note Jack holds...the progression on that acoustic...beauty beyond....
He is a credible actor as well! (I wanted to say an incredible actor)

Up until this day, I've never even considered how much I'd love a Tenacious D cover of the full Abbey Road album

@@SchizoGenius Is that because you do not like the quality of the results of Ai or because you dislike the idea?
@@PowerRedBullTypology it used to be a bit of both, and still is, let me explain.
Just out-and-out making a Tenacious D cover of Abbey Road without their consent or participation seems wrong to me. They're not giving their permission or anything to do it. But, if they themselves did release the sampling data to make it work, then I'm fine with it.
I have no problem with Vocaloids, so I have no problem with AI music just for being AI music. It's about the artist giving their blessing to the project or voluntarily allowing their voices to used in that sort of way.
The first 40 seconds is some of the most beautiful singing i have ever heard. I absolutely love Jack black and Kage. I wish we could get a more serious album from them that really showcases both of there amazing talent.
What about the D albums doesn't showcase their talent?
Dont get me wrong I love most of there stuff. I just wish there was some more serious stuff.
Why? There are already tons of bands that do that. The D can be seriously amazing and ALSO make you laugh. That is an objective upgrade

I'm torn between laughing at JB's rendition and being amazed and impressed with his vocal abilities ❤ His voice is a tonic.
I love SO MUCH about this, not least of which is Jack Black's drum solo.
As funny and entertaining as Jables is, that dude has some fucking insane pipes on him. It’s seriously incredible.
Yeah, he's a super talented artist. I love when he scats, unironically.
To quote Jables himself, he has "pipes for days, yo". He said this about Dio but it really applies to JBinksi as well. He rips out some intense vocal stylings.

"Step on the gas and wipe that tear away" was always such a profound lyric for me, but hearing JB scream it with his manic energy gave it a whole new vibe. Hollywood Jack and the Rage Kage are modern day rock gods.
If there was ever an example of real life, level 20 bards, it would be Kage and Jables.
I would pay good money to see a DND live stream in which Jables plays The Bard while proclaiming to be cage's sidekick. But cage is a very large, and Famous Barbarian, but rolled real low on intelligence so, we know who's really in charge
