I've been looking into doing an Open University course and had no idea what to expect. I'm a little more chilled about the whole thing, thanks to your videos. X
Thank you. Helpful as I am moving from University over to the OU. I use the Pomodoro also. Another tool I use when watching videos for studying is the Cornell note-taking system helps, and the 10-minute focus helps when I need to start writing and get stuck on starting.
@@Rockinemi666 Omg I’m so confused because I’m starting psych with counselling course in October too! i was enrolled over the phone onto both optional modules (introducing social sciences and science and health) ? As I’m studding full time. But I haven’t been enrolled on the investigating psychology de100 module which said compulsory? Is this the same for you I’m so lost haha X
This is so helpful, love these videos. I’m also studying psychology, i did my 1st year and half of 2nd at Greenwich uni but considering changing to the open university so it works better around my full time job, I was in 2 minds before watching your videos but now I’m definitely going to go for the OU and am very excited. The content that you showed already seems so much more informative than my current university so thank you ❤️
I do actually study in pyjamas and in my bed - Since I don't have anywhere else I can do it comfortably. As for the pyjamas, I just live in them - but showering, making my bed and ensuring my bedroom is tidy is key. Also, going to bed at relatively the same time every night helps me avoid naps, lol. I did DE100 last year, and I'm now on DE200 :) I hope you enjoy DE100!
I'm studying with the OU as well. Sometimes it's difficult to stick to a schedule. I've learnt the same thing though; that staying in your pj's is not a good idea. Neither is studying in bed... too easy to just lay back down 😅
Question: Can I study at OU for like 1 year, and then decide to use the marks I got to apply for a 'brick' uni? Cause I have been a homeschooling learner my whole life, so we didn't write those exams required by 'normal' uni's... So could I use OU as a stepping stool to get results to show the other universities of my choice
I am thinking of doing Psychology at OU in Feb 2023 and I was wondering how the assessments and exams work. Do you have to go in every time you have an exam, if so how often do you have an exam?
Hi! Thank you for your lovely content. Im interested in the OU but not sure if Ill be ok with the non social part of uni... I already have a degree, but I want another one in Psycholgy and do it part time. Do you happen to know any other Unis in the UK (London) that have similar prices (basically accesible) and where I can go part time? All the one I've seen are double the price or simply not available part time
I personally use a notepad. There is also a journal section within the online portal to take notes 😊 Each activity in your student portal has a notes section and you can save them and revisit later

Seeing the different screens/tasks and learning methods the OU use was really helpful! Thanks! You've made it look more manageable!

Great video, I am also an OU student
Great! What are you studying? 😊
@@MontelleBee I am doing computer science with OU
Heya :) How often do you have online lectures/live teaching in part-time study?
Generally, online lectures are twice per month. In person was once a month however they have been stopped atm
Entry to the degree must be through your employing agency; you cannot apply directly to the OU. Do I have to have a job to enroll in?
With OU do you get normal holidays or there is no holiday
Does the OU give you like a certificate or something when you finish the first year of uni?
Just wanted to say, Your'e so beautiful! 😭
Thank you! I appreciate you
I do exactly the same (studying music)

Can you actually interact with the person who takes the same course?
🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Please, I heard about free online courses with diploma. Do you have any?? I want history or arquiology
So you get to stay home?
can i ask how you take your notes etc when studying with OU?

Where is your desk chair from?
Its a hand me down chair :(
Hi beautiful. I do have a question. How are the exams at OU
Thank you for your videos. They are so helpful.
I don’t currently do exams. I have essay-based assessments
So inspiring #girlboss
