I watched these guys playing next to corn dog hut in Santa Monica when we was on holiday in 2018. I was amazed then and today they are off the charts. Wow. I have footage of them playing which I'll save forever.

I don't know what happened to rock (other than its aching desire to die) but this band makes me feel hope that the genre did not get "rock blocked" after all. You have a Joplin/Hale/Ethridge combo (not a freely given compliment, i'm a bit of a snob) vocalist and a legend in the making on guitar. You've made my day.

They are great because not only talent but they spent the years on the streets preforming, setting up their own equipment, traveling and putting it all out in the open for the world!!! They have paid their dues and though they have a leg up having a producer as a dad they deserve every fan and dollar they make!!! Brilliant show and so much talent they have and yet to tap into!!! Sam's solo reminded me of some of the live stuff that Adrian Vandenburg used to do in his old band and even after he joined Whitesnake. Also, Melody's pre-chorus interlude is so DIO-esque that Ronnie himself would approve.

You should watch an older video where they are a few years younger yet and Melody the lead singer is the bassist. (The Trooper for instance) Ethan the bassist you love played rhythm/lead guitar like his older brother. Melody is a fantastic bassist and comes up with all the bass lines for their original songs. She then shows them and helps her awesome young brother to play it as he is very busy with school as well. They work very well together and super supportive of one another. It makes an old rock n roll metalhead like me very happy to see a band of this caliber on the rise. It's very rare in this day and age to see this, and especially hear a voice like Melody Cristea. I have paid a lot of attention lately to up and coming female vocalist on RUclips (I was inspired to do that after hearing some of the early Liliac covers) and there is nothing else like Melody out there. One of the RUclipsrs I saw do a review on the new Master of Puppets cover said he would 'never again say she sounds like...' She is unique. Don't get me wrong there are several that can really sing but she is a once in a decade talent. The perfect R&R voice. Before long there will be 'She sounds like Melody Cristea'.

Completely agree that seeing Liliac enjoying their music makes you happy - and honestly, I think (and I am listening to Music over 40 years) this band has not received enough recognition, maybe because their are so young and maybe not necessarily the taste of their own age group (but of course ours...). Guitarist excellent/outstanding, bass very good, drummer excellent and extremely entertaining, lead singer (Melody) absolutely exceptional and captivating. She is really living every song, and you cannot help watching her perform. I really hope they do well, they fully deserve all the success.
They followed the correct path from the beginning playing on the streets (Santa Monica Pier) and doing many things for themselves, including some videos. And keeping this indie way. Awesome Sam starting off. The countdown has begun... That voice! This tune stuck in my head! Found myself trying to sing it days later :) They have fun. The familial synchronicity is tactile. Years of experience, haha! They are so young, incredible.
They are truely incredible. 🤘 It’s so good that they can borrow with out condemnation due to their youth. Sam was their early lead vocalist when they were “The Cristeas”. Then they discovered Melody had a voice. Leave “Sail Away” for desert (last). I think appreciation peaks when you know where they have come from and the exploration the song represents.

I'm 56. I watched the original moon landing. I've always been a huge fan of Jethro Tull and Ian Anderson's work. Spent a lifetime working everything from engineering to pumping gas, even through strokes and bypasses, and last year I finally went down to diabetic amputations and disability. My feet never healed. I've been on my ass ever since. Not long after I ended up on disability, I heard Liliac for the first time. And I fell in love with them. And Melody? She gives me chills every time I hear her voice. One of the few things that keeps me alive these days is waiting to see what these kids will do next! They have never failed to absolutely blow me away. I'd go around the world to see them. But those days have passed. Even if they were in my area I couldn't go. It breaks my heart really. Strange, coming from a Jethro Tull fan.

When Liliac first started Sam was the lead singer they were also called the Cristeas. Their dad is a good singer as well he released a couple of records long time ago
Exactly Ty, and very few fans know that. If you watch their really old stuff, Sam always sings lead, and Melody helps out some (I'm talking about when she was around 12-13 years old). It's obvious she has the charisma to be the lead singer, but people have no idea how good of a singer Sam really is. Thanks for mentioning that. Take care.
I wouldn't necessarily call him the lead. He and Mel both did solo parts and harmonized, but he certainly played a much bigger vocal role back then. You can tell when he sings backup now that he still has a great voice. It's just... well... Mel. 🤷 What else can you say?

Hey Randy, I'm assuming your joke was based on the common misundsrstanding that liliac is vampire bat in Romanian (please forgive me if that wasn't the reason for the joke). But just to clarify, liliac simply means bat in Romanian, and not vampire bat. I'm not sure how that rumor started, but I finally just asked my Romanian wife, and she clarified for me, so I thought I'd pass that along. If, by chance, I'm completely off base, and your joke was based on the dracula legend from Transylvania, that makes sense as well. I've actually been to Vlad the Impaler's castle twice when I lived in Romania, and it's pretty interesting. Anyway, have a good one.

I stumbled onto Liliac when they were still performing on Santa Monica pier. Doing covers then. Justin, their keyboardist was only 7 then. Melody has always been lead vocals, but she was the Bassist in the beginning and Nathan played rhythm guitar. He picked up bass as Mel, focused on vocals. And just for grins and giggles; Melody is also an accomplished painter (artist). The painting she burns in "Chain of Thorns", she really painted. I have been a huge fan from the first time I heard them doing covers.
At first I tried to look up who originally did this incredible song. Trying to figure how I had never heard this legendary song before. This is their original. Awesome. They are truly a top band.

Completely agree that seeing Liliac enjoying their music makes you happy - and honestly, I think (and I am listening to Music over 40 years) this band has not received enough recognition, maybe because their are so young and maybe not necessarily the taste of their own age group (but of course ours...). Guitarist excellent/outstanding, bass very good, drummer excellent and extremely entertaining, lead singer (Melody) absolutely exceptional and captivating. She is really living every song, and you cannot help watching her perform. I really hope they do well, they fully deserve all the success.

They followed the correct path from the beginning playing on the streets (Santa Monica Pier) and doing many things for themselves, including some videos. And keeping this indie way. Very talented and hard work from a very young age. They will be a worldwide supersuccess. I'm Brazilian and I'm already a fang.🤘🏻

Seriously and this is not my first comment but I mean listening to all the way to Mars live again I'm going to tell you right now I'm 58 years old I've been rocking since the 70s begin I do sing I'm told I'm pretty good whenever there was a party going on they would have me come up with the saying but again this is not about me this is one of the best live performances I've ever seen and that's just on my cheap ass phone you guys are bad asses stick with it please!!!!!!!! On my way to Mars is already one of my favorite all-time songs for rock and roll

I'm 56. I watched the original moon landing. I've always been a huge fan of Jethro Tull and Ian Anderson's work. Spent a lifetime working everything from engineering to pumping gas, even through strokes and bypasses, and last year I finally went down to diabetic amputations and disability. My feet never healed. I've been on my ass ever since. Not long after I ended up on disability, I heard Liliac for the first time. And I fell in love with them. And Melody? She gives me chills every time I hear her voice. One of the few things that keeps me alive these days is waiting to see what these kids will do next! They have never failed to absolutely blow me away. I'd go around the world to see them.
But those days have passed. Even if they were in my area I couldn't go. It breaks my heart really. Strange, coming from a Jethro Tull fan.

When Liliac first started Sam was the lead singer they were also called the Cristeas. Their dad is a good singer as well he released a couple of records long time ago
Exactly Ty, and very few fans know that. If you watch their really old stuff, Sam always sings lead, and Melody helps out some (I'm talking about when she was around 12-13 years old).
It's obvious she has the charisma to be the lead singer, but people have no idea how good of a singer Sam really is.

I wouldn't necessarily call him the lead. He and Mel both did solo parts and harmonized, but he certainly played a much bigger vocal role back then. You can tell when he sings backup now that he still has a great voice. It's just... well... Mel. 🤷 What else can you say?

Hey Randy, I'm assuming your joke was based on the common misundsrstanding that liliac is vampire bat in Romanian (please forgive me if that wasn't the reason for the joke).
But just to clarify, liliac simply means bat in Romanian, and not vampire bat.
I'm not sure how that rumor started, but I finally just asked my Romanian wife, and she clarified for me, so I thought I'd pass that along.
If, by chance, I'm completely off base, and your joke was based on the dracula legend from Transylvania, that makes sense as well. I've actually been to Vlad the Impaler's castle twice when I lived in Romania, and it's pretty interesting.

The sound on this concert is great. They mostikely paid big bucks for the live mix recording. Maybe check out Chain of Thorns video, then start with We are the children video from their 13 song all original CD Queen of Hearts before you check out their Power Ballad Sail Away. I stumbled onto Liliac when they were still performing on Santa Monica pier. Doing covers then. Justin, their keyboardist was only 7 then. Melody has always been lead vocals, but she was the Bassist in the beginning and Nathan played rhythm guitar. He picked up bass as Mel, focused on vocals. And just for grins and giggles; Melody is also an accomplished painter (artist). The painting she burns in "Chain of Thorns", she really painted.
