Kinda rural Pope County??? When you're talking about a county with less than 4000 residents and a county seat of around 600, I would think most of the county qualifies as kinda rural😁.
In checking the FS topo map to see where you were, I noticed there were two Dean Cemeteries, both located a short distance off FR 487 about three quarters of a mile apart. One is west of FR 1887 (CR 140) and the other is east.
I also noticed that Dean is spelled with an A on the map and sign, but the gravestones spelled it as Deen with two E's. It's interesting how fluid the spelling of surnames was back in the 1800's.

Pope is definitely all rural haha. We live very close to this trail.

Man, I love watching all your videos, but I see you doing a good bit of hiking off trail. Now, I know my fear of snakes is irrational, but hiking through the woods would have me jumpy as all get out! Do you see many snakes on your hikes? Have you ever been bitten? I know they're out there, but as long as I don't see them, I'm okay with them. I do the majority of my hiking in the late, late fall, winter, and spring until it gets warm enough for snakes get moving good. Can you help put me in the right mindset?

They’re definitely out there. We don’t see them near as much as we’d like to. We like snakes. But we do watch our steps carefully. That’s important when bushwhacking for sure.
