@@trydar I’m 14 small layers away from having the colossus guard my harbor, fully made in survival. ;) blackstone, basalt, red nether brick, gold and diamond blocks. I was lucky enough to spawn in a world with a LOT of Mesa/badlands.
So I tried the first spartan build and I built the platform and started on the feet and noticed I had built the platform wrong and it wouldn't look right so I just built this on the first platform but it still looks amazing 👍
I am building a personnalised version of this on a world building server (similar to Stonework). We have a league of city states going on with a Greek and Roman theme, so this fits amazingly. My version is built standing in a lava crater, with basalt spires on one side of it. I am building it with restone instead of lapis and non-waxed copper, because for RP, it is better if we have to maintain it. There is a few more variations in materials, like the spear tip being magma blocks instead of diamond, but the real larger change I am making is that I am going to make a cape of lava flowing down from its shoulders, into the lava pit. It will look amazing!
Incredible build! I had psyched myself out when it came to building this but, was surprisingly easy to complete with the step by step block placement! Changed the block palette out for something more fitting to the area and it looks amazing. Thank you sir! 🍪
@@trydar honestly it’s dependent on the build, for more organic builds like a statue where there is no discernible pattern the Timelapse works. For the structure builds where those that are familiar with the Roman style the slices are highly beneficial. While the tutorial is only 26 minutes it did take several hours and rewinding to ensure proper block placement. It would have been exceedingly difficult to discern placement if this build was made in slices where the copper blocks blend together.
This is really impressive and you're the first creator who I saw as part of a list on someone else's video, and I left mid video to search your channel for build inspiration. But just curious what's in your hand in this video that lets you place different blocks?
thank you very kindly and welcome! (hands you a cookie) 🍪😊 its just a lever, and the video footage is in reverse, im using it to break the blocks and peel it back like an onion so I can simulate a real time block by block tutorial format. 😅
Awesome build!! I substituted the lapis blocks with blue concrete and the obsidian with black concrete to make the resource collection a little bit easier. One complaint about the video being in reverse though is that it is hard to build top down from so far up in the air. I had to use a few stacks of scaffolding to work my way down the shield lol. Other than that the process was great. Looking forward to your future builds.
thx glad you liked! I understand your complaint, however this is the only method by which I can give you such a tutorial. doing it from complete scratch in real time is an editing nightmare and I just cant do it im sorrys.
Ngl I wish u would do a grid with what size everything should be and like talk and say where everything goes. I can't really follow when u have a lever in ur hand pressing air and having stuff spawn in all fast 😂
im sorrys, I can only do 1 method per build tho, this one seems to work best for most people for smaller statues. you can slow down the playback speed of the video if you need to, I assume everyone does that. 😸🍪✨
Hopped back in minecraft a few days ago. I had built your docks, now im building this great statuein front of them. Though i gotta say, im not a fan of the timelapse, im more used to your layers videos. Specially when building the arms, its painfully bothersome to build "down" in survival. Other than that, this is great, I particularly thank that you used stone for the "fillings"
sorrys, I mean I get complaints both ways really some people want this method others want the slices, I tried to pick the one I thought was best for this one.
What are the chances that you do a Hippodrome build and tutorial? I like the style you use with the diorite and cobble and i think a hippodrome would look sweet
I was just at the colossus build, and you know what? I'm going to build the other one. (I'm going to regret this due to my personal track record of messing up everything and having to redo all of ot in a major build but I'm optimistic this time)
you can do that if you want to, I use those on smaller statues, however once you get to a certain size of statue I dont find it worthwhile to overdetail it.
I love your builds but unfortunately me having to pause and back up and pause and back up is a bit much. I tried but I stopped after the legs. I need step by step
the spartan colossus I made is red, I just used blue here to show a variant color option sorrys, its just titled this way for search results it could be a hoplite from any polis. 😮
Nice statue but the style of the tutorial and not using any visualizations of the statue's dimensions make it quite hard to follow especially in survival
I talk in most of the videos, this however is a timelapse build and I dont record voiceovers for these since there is very little that needs to be said. its designed for you to either pause or slow the playback speed down in your options menu or both. it also comes with a world download. I dont expect you to build it that fast in real time. 🙂👍
YOOO THIS IS DOPE!!!! I was a big fan of the colossus but hadn't the mental fortitude to tackle it...thanks!
this one is more survival friendly sized, enjoy!

@@trydar nothing against your amazing building, more of a suggestion going forward.
Wow that looks fantastic! In future videos can you try some steam punk Builds

Should do an edit for this for Roman soldiers :). Btw maybe get some ancient music for the background music. Ambient Ancient songs are always calming

I might have to replace the two dwarf statues with these in front of my mountain. 🤔

if you mirror them it might work, they are about 1/2 the height of your whole facade tho.
This looks good and the colors are good combination. But why don't you use stairs and slabs for more detalisation? This just looks like pixel art.

C'est censé être rouge là je crois qu'il confond les couleurs avec les Athènien
