Op 11 januari 2019 is mijn vader op bijna 82 jarige leeftijd overleden. Hij was vanaf zijn 15e al kerkorganist totdat hij door dementie niet meer spelen kon toen hij omstreeks 78 jaar oud was. Naast zijn vrouw, was het orgel zijn grote liefde, als hij er een zag moest hij spelen. Ik vind het jammer dat hij jou nooit heeft horen spelen in levende lijve, het had zo mooi geweest om zijn gezicht te zien, maar ik geloof dat hij met mij meegeniet. Ik dank je dat je dit prachtige instrument levend houd! Nu ben ik in Amerika, maar mijn tweede thuis is nog altijd in Harderwijk waar mijn moeder woont.
We are privileged to see and hear genius like this only once in our lifetime. He is a gift to all who love music. I cherish his performances but all I can say to him is : Thank You.

Gert .My dad graduated from the Chicago Conservatory of music in 1909 and was church organist and he also gave concerts.Pipe organ in my view is the most remarkable and inspiring music to Honor God.Thank you for all your songs that I can watch and listen!

This particular improvisational piece shows this young mans complete understanding of music and sound. Everything Gert does is an indication of his talent, however this piece, with its personal interpretation of a well known hymn, is absolutely the most remarkable piece of music I have ever heard played on the organ. Whenever I need a boost I turn immediately to the superb one you gave on the magnificent Willis organ in Liverpool Cathedral. The move from a beautifully evocative piece of playing to the pomp and circumstance of Land of Hope and Glory is wonderful and totally unexpected and the ending where the sounds increase to fill the cathedral and the joy on your face as you hold that long last note sum it all up. I didn't get to see you at Stoke last year but will look out for the next time you grace any organ in the UK and try to experience it live at last.

Mooie improvisatie op een prachtig orgel. Ik heb dit orgel pas geleden nog bespeeld op een Content Cambiare 210. Maar in het echt klinkt dit orgel nog net wat mooier. Ook nog de beste wensen voor het nieuwe jaar.
