I feel like so many of the parent misunderstanding blush a something that screams PINK. But when I watch these shows the blush dress is always so pretty.
the blush these days is a lot lighter than previously. I love the blush in the last 5ish years. My dress was blush and ivory I believe. It was very subtle but perfect.
Whenever the mom said, "It's not my dress.", I immediately went like, "YEAH. It's not your dress, it's HER dress." I'm not saying like she's mean or anything but that line just-
I felt like she meant it more as a "this isn't the dress" and then added the "FOR ME" meaning as a "IN MY OPINION" trying to not sound too strong. But maybe I'm just too naive 😅
I'm not a prude by any stretch of the imagination, but it's refreshing to see a young, beautiful bride say yes to a romantic, princess gown once in a while. BTW, getting a Say Yes To The Dress episode with Gok in it is like opening a fantastic Christmas present! :)
I enjoyed that too. I also loved that Gok took HER vision which was traditional and fluffy and sweet - and only showed her dresses that really spoke to that vision.
This is my favorite version of Say Yes To The Dress. Gok and his assistants are so caring and spot on with what the bride wants. They truly do magic in their ability to know exactly what the brides vision is. I love these people.
My favorite version of syttd. Gok cares so much about the brides but at the same time doesn't discredit the opinion of the entourage. And best yet the dresses are so beautiful and different. You never see 2 brides walk out in the same dress and Gok isn't afraid to customise the dress to suit the brides vision WITHOUT causing all the drama. If I hadn't got married already I'd have loved to have done to him for my dress 😍
Did I hear correctly? She had the dress customized & was holding her breath hoping everyone liked it? Then Gok staged this right by putting her in the 2 previous dresses before THE ONE... leading all to a unanimous decision of YES to the custom (last) dress! Brilliant!!
i don't think it was entirely custom made, rather that some alterations were made to a pre-existing gown. apparently they adorned the straps, you can even see the pins along them.
I watch these things and Love it when the Mom is so blown away by the beauty of her daughter, showing so much support. Wish I had moments like that to remember.
I think when Mum says 'it's not my dress' she simply means it's not what she envisaged her daughter in, rather than she's being dogmatic against the other ideas. She had a vision of what she thought she wanted to see, and it turned out 'her' dress and her daughter's idea of the dress was a lot closer than she thought. I love how this little group got to the right frock between them!
It's quite amusing to watch mother and daughter have different tastes yet come in wearing the same wrap type dress when they walk in .. relate to this so much. Me and my sister's the same! 😂
Wow! All 3 dresses were fantastic! The 2nd was my least favorite because of the way it suddenly pinches the waist in, but despite my general dislike of anything fishtail, THAT one was great! The 3rd one was really beautiful!! The only thing to me was that the waistline seemed a bit high. One thing I really don't like in ANY dress - not just wedding dresses - is an empire waistline. This one wasn't quite as high as that but didn't seem to fall at her natural waist. However, the beauty of the rest of the dress, and her love of it, totally outshines that!
I couldn’t agree more! I’m so beyond seeing Mother’s of the bride or even future mother in laws making the whole dress buying experience about themselves. As sad as it is It makes me so happy knowing that my mother will never have the privilege of being in a dress shop with me or even being at my wedding. She is so toxic & I can only imagine how much more stressful finding a dress with her in any store with me would be.
@@ayeshalooyestyn5757 I'm glad you have the strength to advocate for yourself and know what's best for your own well being. It's not an easy place to get to!
I wish her mum didn't say that comment about her shape. That was a bit too disparaging for my taste. She's got a lovely figure and she looked beautiful in all the dresses she tried on, mermaid or not.
I think the other dresses suited her better. If she would have loved it it would be a different story, but she didn’t look so happy and shiny in the mermaid one.
The girl in the red sweater especially, but also the girl in the maroon sweater, have purple tints to their blue eyes. It's gorgeous. A family friend of ours who owns a cattle ranch in Arizona was also blonde with the purple tinted eyes, she's a gorgeous old woman.
The dress reads as a pink tinted white more than a blush to me!!! When she said blush at the beginning I was thinking a true "blush". Beautiful though!!
The bride's mother is so sweet! She wants the absolute best for her daughter and it shows. I don't see that many mothers rise out of their seat and rush to hug the bride telling her how beautiful she is. When the mother didn't feel a dress was "the right dress" she was always soft spoken about it and respectful to the bride.
At first I thought the title was a bit misleading and calling the mum opinionated was mean but after watching the whole video....yeah. Ma'am, it's not your wedding. Therefore, not 'your dress'!
The figure shaped dress looked amazing on her I really don't understand why know one else could see that. I'm happy she found her dress a beautiful princess 💕

Those complaining: "not the dress for me" just a polite way of saying I don't like it, "doesn't tick my vision for you"... mum knows it isn't her dress, but she is there to tell the bride whether she likes it OR not
It's not about her vision of what the bride should wear because her daughter is a grown woman and not what "this is what I've always dreamed since you were a little girl with no opinion "
@@melrobertson2743 but you don't invite ppl to share their opinion if you aren't interested in listening. Every mum has dreams and it is OK, she didn't force her daughter to wear white, she accepted blush with no resistance

its interesting to see how that one final dress always brings tears to the bride to be....that's when you know she got it....and sometimes her entourage joins in with their tears as well
I love the 3rd dress on her. Just lovely! I’m tearing up watching this episode. All these shows bring back memories of the first time I saw MiddleDaughter in her chosen wedding gown at the shop in 2003.
Love how these brides get gorgeous dresses for a fraction of the price the Americans pay at Kleinfeld or Bridals by Lori. There's no need for a wedding gown to cost thousands of dollars !!!
People put their blood sweat and tears and time and focus into those dresses and the money that the bride pays dosen't all go to those hard working designer's, its split between the store the employees and the designer's. Those designer's that work their 🍑's of on those dresses deserve every penny!

Isn't the marriage more important than the wedding day? What is so important to please every Jane, Mary or Suzy when deciding on a wedding dress?
This show cracks me up. As a bride, pick what you want. You can never make everyone happy. If they don't like it, oh well, they'll get over it. She looks beautiful!
Every time I see an episode where the mom is pushing her own preferences at the expense of the bride, I think back to my experience when my mom and I went gown shopping, and how blessed I was to have her by my side.

Yes, he does.
Absolutely!
These episodes are newer compared to David Emanuel and Randy’s. Hence the collection looks better in Gok’s store: new, edgy, pretty.

I'm becoming a huge Essence of Australia fan. So feminine, fancy without being over the top, and so very bridal. Great choice.
I agree. They also seem to be relatively affordable compared to some of the others.
They have amazing dresses
That’s what our daughter chose - a beautiful, reasonably priced dress.
I totally tried one on recently and since I don't have a date I couldn't commit, but I think I'll be sticking to them for future fittings

It seems like what the bridesmaids are wearing is too close to the bride’s dress.
I do too, it sounds lovely!
