- An MMORPG needs a healthy player population to remain fun and functional. Due to THREE different servers, the world just feels empty. Most games without major updates will begin to loser players within one to two months, and Albion Online is no different. This game due to the server splits and updates focusing on guilds and not the majority of the solo player base it has, has caused many people to seek other games to play. This video discusses the future of Albion Online and the troubles it will have if it fails to do something about the massive population splits due to opening new servers and the lack of reasonable updates for solo players.

It's funny you mentioned someone talking about you in chat, I see or hear your name almost everyday I log into albion.
hi Benji, would you like to make a video with your take on "how to fix albion", what changes would you like to see about the game, considering that majority of playerbase are solo players,
maybe sbi is just bad with coming up with good ideas how to make game better (thats what i feel when i see their balance changes to the weapon and armor items), so you know, you dont have to showcase that video as your ideas (ofc they would be yours), but present them as you would have made a questionnaire amongst eu players (bcs it seems like what makes sense for sbi to care about for now) on what and why could change in albion for the better of majority (which is again solo players). I dont have the data on which kind of players spend most on the game, but i know few people irl that are/were in biggest alliances on eu and all these alliances are using radar hacks and rmt'ing so it doesnt make sense for me that players in big guilds would spend any real money on the game. so imo the changes punishing solo players are stupid especially when justified by their funny "risk/reward system", for example nerfing solo dungeons: they say its super safe to do bcs oh you just wait for dungeon to close and now its basicly safe zone, meanwhile people using hacks and exploits to stop dungeon from closing for more than 1-2 minutes and later ganking unsuspecting player inside of it, and how about big alliances, travelling in big groups of well geared players and having a safe spot in every bz (hideouts, territories) this is basically no risk huge reward, you already know that, but sbi lives in some kind of matrix and maybe they cant notice that their "risk/reward" doesnt work as intended. i might have a little too much faith in them, but who knows, maybe if you would present a video as result of a survey then some goblins at sbi will be like: hei m-mister r-r-robyn... look that guy acthualli m-makes sense, maybe we should take notes from him m-mister boss...

I played when it went F2P. I came back recently just to check it out. I spent some money on gold. The problem is how grindy it is. I am an adult with responsibilities. If you want to be competitive at all you have to pay money for crappy tomes or commit to premium. Honestly I like the concept just the execution sucks. Coming into a game where I have to grind for two years to be competitive. It sucks.
It means that u just lack of knowledge & patience to learn the game. I have a child, wife, own house & full time job and I have no problem to be competitive & enjoy the game. If paying premium as an adult is a problem, then I believe that you should concern focusing on your real life income. I happily pay couple bucks per month to be able to enjoy a great game on its full potential.
@@honkkis7225 I own a house too. Have a well paying job. It doesn't mean I want to play P2W. I find it hilarious someone is giving me life advice on the internet without knowing me. To me that shows a lack of any self awareness. Maybe you should focus on earning more. I make well above avg of the Finnish monthly income.

you absolutely will have to progress in the game to a point, but for two years? no. you have to grind for maybe 2 weeks if you play 20 mins a day to become "competitive". but reality is that you can play in groups with ragtag 4.1 gear and become competitive in about 2 days playing for 20 mins with knowledge or 2 hours without knowledge. don't listen to anyone saying this is pay to win. knowledge is the most important thing in this game... and numbers. so find some allies and knowledge. you don't have to pay anything at all. some guild leaders literally replace and pay for your gear for you. your real life does not matter at all.
Yes, fewer players play Albion than even single-player AAA projects, and all because the developers of Albion online simply don’t want to make the game comfortable for as many players as possible, and also because of forced pvp with full loot and crowds of gankers, which turns off many
@user-jg7tr5be9i the game was marketed as a san box mmorpg. Why do I have to go to the black zone to make silver and lose my equipment. I want to play the market side and build stuff on my island, do ocasional solo dungeons (legacy content sucks). Albion is not a true sandbox compared to minecraft, where someone invented a computer inside the game.
Those single AAA project are very famous or only in the beginning lol

You cannot progress further, beyond the 5th tier, without forced PvP, which pushes away those who came only for the economic component of Albion and do not want to face ganking groups. Due to the lack of forced pvp, pve mmo games are much more popular and successful than pvp oriented mmo games with an extremely niche audience that will never grow to at least a million players

Yes it is. This game, in terms of game mechanics, seems to be from the very beginning of the 2000s, and not 2024, both in mechanics and in graphics and in the approach to the gameplay as a whole.
The problem is that the game is being tailored to the whales and streamers, and regular players are basically just mobs for top players. Imo, they should bring faction flag to BZ, and prevent PvP w/ faction v non-faction.

Still playing...but only 2 hours due to this stuff, still hoping for changes.
Imagine one day you are the last one to play albion with your friends, blackzones are safe, loot is maxxed in group content because no-one clears it there are no more items on the markets, you can run a 8.4 mp build without having to worry a bit.
Man i'd love to play like that, seems really relaxing

When I first played Albion I liked it coz you can’t succeed if didn’t grind but on my second premium everything just feels dull I got millions now all without swiping now it’s just a matter if I get bored or not
I forgot the last time i opened this game. The only thing ive been getting on lately has been Valorant and recently Tarisland since it was pretty decent. Benj, You should make a playlist of your storytime videos! those are definitely what some of us looks forward to at this point. haha

I feel a lot of the players on the west server were originally european and as such when the european server released the player base probably just went there
Over half were. The rest are South American or other. Almost no North American or Canadians play, and the ones that do moved to EU also to be around English speaking players.
They have to fix solo dungeons and mists. They give bad loot most of the time. This whole system needs a rework. You can not have a mmorpg that has this crappy loot system...
And the new update will have EU players like myself getting even less good stuff on our prime times.
They want all the EU players to leave the west server, these Devs man. I am not going to invest in EU what I did in west, money and time wise.
I quit due to I play on the American server and it’s completely dead very little content in bz I’ll be back when they merge servers I guess

Moreover, I forgot to add that another reason why many have left and are leaving Albion online is one of the most toxic communities playing Albion online. I have had the opportunity to communicate with such people, and they are stupid as a plug, and when you try to explain something to them and convince them of something different from their opinion, they immediately insult you and tell you to leave the game, and not make the game better for how as many players as possible. Even Dota 2 has a better community, not to mention other games.
In a community that overwhelmingly plays Albion online, especially pvp, normal people - and that's the majority - want nothing to do with it. Because of this, many people do not want to play in Albion guilds. Even in Warcraft, the guilds and the community in general are better, because there is a friendly community waiting for you that will help and will not reproach or laugh at the slightest mistake, and they are also pleasant to play with. unlike the people from the Albion guilds
I have hope that as many adequate beginners as possible will see the truth about Albion online and will not play it
Minecraft saved by all the modders outside the original gameplay, shaders, mods that Mojang don't even think about, or they just lazy and let modders to do those jobs for them, releasing new mobs that appeared in mod game like a decade ago,... Minecraft survive thanks to most of the things that not the normal minecraft gameplay.

The poor actually do work for me each day and they love dying for the wonderful Gucci things that I wear I wonder how many died making my 8.4 astral staff. tbh yes the game is dying, and yes the game definitely needs more solo content, but big man company ain't doing anything.
even tho we are indeed getting an update, it's not actually substantial, it's like they are catering to guild players not solo players.

The reality is that big guild players are the biggest real money gold/premium purchasers. That’s why SBI caters content to them, since their egos cause them to reach for their credit cards when they get punked.
