This is inspired by greatest Armenian cinematographist Paradjanov whose 100th anniversary was celebrated internationally. Paradjanov himself was inspired by medival Armenian musician (ashiq) Sayat Nova who also did cultural mixes in his music (Armenian-Geaorgian-Persian-Albanian music(Caucasian Albania))
Those under Germanic influence use J as Y, besides the English language, which is a Germanic language too. But the Spanish pronounce J as KH :) And the French pronounce it ZH. So, while they are a French-Armenian band, it sounds Zhako (French); and she sings it so in the song too ;)
J - is pronounced as Y in many European countries. My name is with J but I don’t call myself Jana but Yana. So there can be confusion. Either way later in the video I gave both pronunciations.

The instrument you are talking about is called "shvi". The shvi is an Armenian fipple flute with a labium mouth piece.
