@@Marco-uw2hf there was a community made patch 1.06 that changed balance of units a bit and USA tanks started to come in play, was very interesting seeing games where all types of units were used and CC was always kept and not sold. But it never got properly adapted by everyone i guess.

Col Burton such a badass, awesome and interesting unit with so much potential if you have the APM to micro him. Great to see good use of him in this game, racking up 2 Jarmen kills and easily more than 10k worth of damage, survives to the end too in an action hero moment VS the quads
No Vet 3 Burton on a bike though ;)
Just watched it and it was a fantastic replay. The game would have gone by much faster if Excal started building secondary eco +5 minutes into the future. He ran out of money and used what was left to build that eco, which slowed him down heavily.
Also wanted to point out you missed Burton killing Jarmen twice. 13:25 Burton shoots Jarmen when Jarmen leaves the palace. Hence how Burton becomes vet 1 despite no other units being there. The 2nd instance is at 15:59. Jarmen was in the battle bus, so Excal places a spy drone above it, killing Jarmen when he leaves the bus with Burton.
Anyways, an amazing replay!
No, excal played it perfect, he had to play aggressive since he was behind economically/mapcontrol wise, had he invested into eco instead of units he wouldn’t been able to keep vivid “smaller”, once gla gets this critical amount of buggies and quads he becomes unstoppable.

@@KenshiroPlayDotA I would say yes, however Excal seems to not get Tow on purpose. Maybe he thinks the upgrade time is too long.

Can someone explain why it would've been so crucial for Vivid to have gotten two power plants? I played when I was younger but is there something I'm missing?
Because if GLA gets power it starts producing units & buildings twice the speed. So it's absolutely crucial for the GLA to get power when it has the chance to.

Maybe this sounds a bit stupid, but this map and early game screamed for 2-3 commanches/raptors.
Am playing c&c generals and zero hour from like 2005 and i gotta say i dont like generals RUclips content but this one really good i really enjoyed the video with how simple the fight was with simple units nice job.
I don't get why drop zones are better than markets when markets produce more money per/sec, does it instantly and doesn't require energy

still amazed to this day that they never released a newer generals... so stupid of ea to terminate the generals 2 project.. Probably some political correctness bullshit..
If you can take a moment off your high horse, it's because EA tried to make Generals 2 a microtransaction-based game with no single-player campaign. Testers (who were used to the old Zero Hour) hated everything about the new direction and EA realized it would take a complete overhaul to fix things so instead decided to scrap the idea completely. This is all readily available info.

I absolutely love when Vivid plays GLA. I couldn’t agree more with you about the bounty money and the missed dozer cap for power. Fun game to watch nonetheless, and well played by both. GGs.
Did Excal just forget toe missile upgrade exists or what?

@9:15, It's about sending a message. Vivid was saying "I don't even need this to beat you." Big time power move on someone who is arguably one of the top players of the game.
Also, and more realistically, the dozer was right next to a bunker with infantry in it. Execl coulda easily gotten it back and resumed building that fire base, which I figure Vivid figured would be worse than giving up power he probably couldn't get anyway.
