wow that took soooo much courage to share this with all of us! I'm so very sorry that you have been through so much... a lot of what you mentioned touched a very close cord with me. I gained about 30+ lbs after taking medication for my depression... and when we were trying to bring the medication I was falling right back down... but I have to be honest with myself I too I'm not very gentle with myself and push too much my poor body... so anyway changed the medication and had to go on a diet (which I had never done in my life) and I actually was able to stick with it and I have lost 33lbs in 6 months with the Keto diet ( no carbs... that was HARD). thank you for your courage and strength to share with us all!

Thank you, miss Vicky!! My weight is still going up, and I have only recently got it to level out a little but, but I know I have a long way to go! I have never heard of the Keto diet, but no carbs would be difficult! CONGRATULATIONS!!! That really is amazing!! Great big hugs to you, sis!! ~Chrissie ;-)

Oh my gosh! Wow - I feel like I was just watching myself in the mirror. You stated exactly how life has been and is for me. Falling off the axis - so accurate. I'm sorry to hear that you are going through this but am thankful you shared your story. I had given up on finding assistance but after this will continue to pursue it. Repeatedly being told it's all in your head wears a person down as well. I also want to say thank you for not playing music while you are talking. It's very distracting. I look forward to future updates on how things are going with you.

Yes, I absolutely agree, miss Sheina! I wish that Dr's would tell you that they don't know versus, it is all in your head kind of messaging!! Yes, keep looking, don't stop until you find out the answer - I am learning that it is the only way to really heal!! ;-)

Thank you for your openness & honesty. It must have been very hard for you, throwing your personal story into the "atmosphere", not knowing what response you would get. I want you to know that you helped me feel less alone in my own, similar struggles. You, too, are not alone. I am sending hugs & best wishes for better health - soon. Please keep us updated. Now, go kiss your wonderful, supportive husband.

I am feeling a little overwhelmed with gratitude and a real feeling of - YES, I HAVE FOUND MY PEOPLE!!! ;-) Thank you again for your kind words, I truly appreciate YOU!! I will be sure to go plant a big wet sloppy one on the mister - I am sure he will LOVE THAT!!! More to come from little ol' Oregon! HUGS!! ;-)

Hi Chrissie! This has been amazing to listen to! Our similar experiences are incredible. My job stress was already pushing me in the direction of literal "going crazy." For 4 years I had what I now know was a verbally abusive principal who bullied the whole staff. Then I too almost died in October 2013 (while still under the abusive boss) from misdiagnosed blood clot that ran the entire length of my right leg and a double pulmonary embolism. I was diagnosed about 15 months ago with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, but the counselor also suggested I seek the advice of a specialist about adrenal fatigue. I have not done that yet, but now think I should. I have improved a ton in the last two years - having a new principal helped with that. I found art journaling when looking for ways to create and think and heal. I lost my ability to read for a while, just couldn't concentrate . . . and I am just now starting to even think about writing again. I checked out of life quite a bit - did my job and slept a ton for almost two years between the physical recovery and the emotional. It has been hard on my kids (now 21, 19, 15 and 9), but I had to rest. Period. And quitting my job was not an option because I make the majority of the money for our family because my husband is self-employed. (Not to mention, $250,000 in medical bills means I need to stay on the state teacher's insurance for at least five years before anyone else will even look at me!) Thank you so much for sharing your story. I am so saddened by all you have been through and sooooo thrilled to hear that you are going to focus on yourself for a while. Take as long as you need!!!! Don't short change the process!!! And thank you for sharing your heart with others. Your channel was one of the first I found when I started exploring art journaling. I watched all 20 something of those original videos. Clearly God led me here to "meet" you! I will be praying for you!!!

    • @BeautifulCreatives
      @BeautifulCreatives  8 лет назад +1

Jenny, thank you so much for your kind words!! You made me cry! Yes, our stories are very similar, and I am so glad to "meet" you too!! Those original 20 videos were what originally saved my life - they gave me a reason to get up out of bed at least once or twice a week and get them out into the universe!! Those videos encompassed my 6 months off of work, originally! but, even just putting out one art journaling video every week was a lot back then! :-) I am looking forward to what is to come, and yes, I agree, please go look into adrenal fatigue - like I said in the video, just hearing the diagnosis made me feel validated somehow! The hard part will be doing the work to get healthy, but I have already started and, even though only 2 days into my plan, I am determined!! and I will make sure to keep you posted!! Again, thank you so much for sharing, you are such a doll!! Hugs to you, my new friend!! :-)~Chrissie ;-)

my family and I are on a vegan diet and there are quite a few non dairy products available in the UK including cheese but it's not exactly like real cheese. you just have to look around for what's best for you. thanks for sharing I hope your new journey brings you happiness 💗

I wish I could give you a great big hug. It must be rough to go through all that and the time you could have died must have been traumatic. Trauma like that has to go somewhere so I'm guessing you stored it inside you. I have done that and it really does affect us physically, not just emotionally. The body remembers what our mind doesn't want to. I can relate to a lot of what you said too. One of my chronic illnesses involves adrenal fatigue. Also, although it's one of my less severe illnesses, I also have gastric problems long term. It came to a head when I had to go to the emergency room as I kept vomiting blood. Long story short, I've had to cut out gluten and dairy. It's so hard but it has helped me. Dairy is the worst for me. I'm not an expert but I am studying nutrition and if you have any digestive issues dairy can really aggravate it. Dairy free cheese is neither tasty nor healthy I'm afraid but a bit of nutritional yeast adds a cheesy flavour to things. I have loads of gluten free and dairy free recipes I can send your way if you have to cut them out including sugar free, gluten free, dairy free chocolate mug cake that makes a seriously yummy treat! I know that technically I'm a stranger who leaves long comments on your channel! but I am absolutely here for you if you need anything.

BTW, I would hug you right back!! ;-) Yes, any recipes that you have on hand would be AMAZING!! Feel free to e-mail me at chrissieb@beautifulcreatives.com. Thanks for the info about the dairy free cheese, I am thinking I will pass!! but your dairy free chocolate mug cake sounds promising!! Hee! Hee!! Hugs to you, my friend!! More to come!!! ;-)

Hi. First of all who am I to give advise but... From listening to your chat, it seems to me that this life change will not be as hard for you as you think. You seem like a very strong person whether you think so or not, and you will give 110% into this change as you do everything else. This is the time in your life to devote all your energy into what is most important and that's YOU not your job. You have a very loving husband and you need to love yourself just as much. This is all an outsider's view but this is a new chapter in your story and I think this life change will probably be the best thing to happen to you and your life. I also believe that it will only enrich your family life even more. OK enough with my ranting, this may sound crazy but I'm excited for you. You are going to start feeling so much better physically and mentally. Wishing you all the best and looking forward to hearing all about your progress. Take care.

Hello, I recently became one of your subscribers b/c I love your art journal pages that you do. I know I don't know you at all and I rarely leave comments but I want to tell you that I wish I knew you, I wish u were my friend & we could like hang out. You are just a beautiful person inside & out. I can totally relate to some of your health issues. I had a hysterectomy 8 years ago b/c of Endometriosis but before my surgery I was given 4 injections of this poisonous drug called Lupron Depot. This drug shuts down your Adrenal gland. It's a horrible, horrible, horrible drug. I've also been suffering from a long list of side effects caused by this drug 8 years later. I too have ADD & anxiety (which I think the two go hand in hand) and I absolutely agree with you about seeking help & not stopping until you find someone to help you & take you seriously. That was excellent advice. I saw 11 Different kinds of Dr's before I finally found the right one. I too thought I was going crazy & I too was also told by one of the Dr I saw that the last Dr who saw you " deemed you a pill seeker " this upset me so bad. I can't stand to even take Motrin when I have a headache. It infuriates me that Dr. 's (some Dr.'s) are so quick to judge someone like that. I know I'm getting long winded but I just wanted you to know that your story was very inspiring & even though I don't know you I wanted you to know that you seem to be on the right track to getting your life back & I'm thankful to you for making this awesome video. I hope u have a wonderful day/night & I wish you all the best.

Thank you so much for your kind words, Miss Shannon!! Yes, we could totally hand out - I would love that!! :-) It is AMAZING to me how much your story can be shared by so many others! This is why I am doing RUclips videos, I just keep hearing that I need to share my story, like in my gut, and all this time I thought it was to help others, and it is, but I am learning from people just like you, that sharing my story is healing to me too!! Please keep coming back and speaking up, us girls need all the soul sister support we can get during this crazy life, and if you can find someone who might be a little bit of your same kind of kooky, then honey, you have got yourself a party!! ;-) Hugs to you, my new friend!! :-)

Hello from a fellow Oregonian (Portland.) Fortunately we live in an area that has a lot of offerings for people on special diets. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
Regarding cheese, the only brand my 10 year old son will eat is "Follow Your Heart", although most pizza places that make vegan pizza use a brand called "Daiya." And for spaghetti, Barilla brand makes the BEST gluten-free (and dairy-free) spaghetti. I can't even tell the difference! For gluten free bagels, rolls, cookies, breads, etc., Udi's brand makes fabulous baked goods that are g-free & dairy-free (but do have egg, so are not vegan.)
Be gentle with yourself though and don't try to change everything all at once. Baby steps. Remember it has been a long journey to get to where you are with your health. It will likely be a long journey to become healthy again and maintain it. Baby steps. Thanks for sharing your story. I really enjoy all your videos.

Erin, thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I need all the ideas I can get!! and you know what, you are sooooo right!!! I am soooo thankful to live in the Willamette Valley because good food choices, healthy food choices are readily available!!! :-) and I ABSOLUTELY agree, baby steps and being very gentle with myself is the only way this is all going to work!! I will definitely be making sure to share my progress!! I am just blown away by all of the AMAZING people that I am meeting, and the fact that you are so close is AWESOME!! :-) Hugs to you, my new friend!! :-)

Two more suggestions..."Earth Balance" brand organic vegan buttery spread is good and "Bob's Red Mill" has a selection of g-free flours & baking mixes (Bob's g-free pancake mix + Rice milk, eggs, & Earth's Best spread = yummy g-free & dairy-free pancakes!) Also New Seasons Market (if you visit Portland area) gives gluten free tours which were helpful for our family to get started. We shop between Fred Meyer & New Seasons.
