Wow you just sent me down a memory lane I had nearly forgotten existed. I looked at your page and Angel!!!? I never bought one of their records but came very close to doing so many times. Their image appeared to be too clean for me at the time and the keyboards. Hey I was only fifteen!
Blackie Lawless was at the top of rainbow. They are such an amazing band. I can stay captivated through all of their music. I could listen to this music anywhere or anytime, and I would know who who owns that voice.
This is a LIZZIE GREY -penned song, pure and simple! Recorded by London, Ultra Pop and Spiders & Snakes! Nice video Glam-bone! Glad to be part of this video!
Hey People - Lizzy Grey wrote this song, not Blackie...after the original LONDON broke up in late 1980, Lizzy continued on with drummer Dane Rage, Blackie joined on bass & vocals & also a keyboard player named Clive...they played a few shows & did some recording & this is one of the songs...it is Lizzy's song all the way...then Lizzy formed Brenda Starr/Roxy Roller & vocalist Leslie Knauer sang it a few times...then she took it with her to Precious Metal & they played it live...then Lizzy played it again years later...isn't it a great song?? one of Lizzy's best IMO...
Awesome track! Lizzie's reminded me of the Britny Fox track called "Save the Weak". I wonder if the guys in Britny Fox had heard of it. Thanks for sharing.
Most 1980s heavy metal and their songs back then sound just as fresh today sound brand new. But this song does actually sound dated. But it’s still a cool song. Blackie Lawless is still recording to this day his album Babylon and golGotha they are Christian metal releases but they’re just as good as ever.!
For those of you craving a W.A.S.P. book, you've got to get Sting In The Tale by Darren Upton. It's the most informative book you could ask for (finally!) and totally unbiased, with interviews from just about everybody, all the way back to Circus Circus and Sister. It even covers Blackie's brief runs with the New York Dolls and Killer Kane. Rare color pics and even a cool Blackie poster. Check ebay.
This song reminds me of something that I could hear the Brady bunch kinds singing when they were trying to raise money to buy their parents an anniversary gift.
This song was re recorded by a band called Precious Metal! All female band. They did a great cover of it! Though Lizzy is no longer here with us This song is.
Technically, this was the 4th incarnation of LONDON. the first 3 were all the same, except switching lead singers. 1st was Henri' Valentine, then Nigel Benjamin, then Michael White, (who lasted 1 show), then Nikki Sixx left, & this, the 4th version of LONDON was Lizzy Grey-lead guitar, Dane Rage-drums, Blackie Lawless-bass & lead vocals, & Claude (no last name)- keyboard, rhythm guitar... after this, Blackie went to form W.A.S.P. , Dane went to the Brooklyn Brats, Lizzy started Roxy Roller,

with whole due, but the beginning (and actually the whole song) sounds like a perfect thing for the Pretty Boy Floyd guys to play. This one sounds like a half of their demos
@azrael666ethereal im waiting for blackie to write the official blackie lawless and WASP autobiography with a bunch of colour photos added. everyone else is writing books so it would be nice if blackie did too. it would sell...thats for sure.
Go listen to "time for change" from Motley Crue's Dr Feelgood cd....you will hear they ripped this song off unless Nikki owned it from his time in London.
Sounds kinda like Alice Cooper, only better. The refrain is one of the most soothing, beautiful and inspiring pieces of music for me. It's a shame this song isn't more popular, would love to see Blackie do something with it, like he did with 'For Whom The Bell Tolls'
This has to be the WORST recorded & mixed song (NOT written or performed) in the entire history of audio recordings! Too bad the engineer didn't have a little more experience capturing this wonderful tune! : (
I used to play this song live when I played with Lizzie Grey in Spiders & Snakes 1992/93. Fun times.
Absolutely inspurational. Blackie Lawless possesses that kind of raw emotion in his voice that I crave, just like Dan McCafferty.
Two of my favourite singers!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Blackie's music, this is my favorite....!!!!!!!! so awesome....
Great music. Thank you blackie.
I love this song and Blackie Lawless 🎸🌠🌈
I remember playing this song live when I played with Lizzie in Spiders & Snakes back in the early 90's.
I saw S&S a few times, what instrument did you play...

The part in the 2nd verse that goes "take it on the chin" was funny when you see that photo of Lizzie Grey giving George Foreman an uppercut! LOL!
Obrigado!

I'm confused. Wasn't this when they were all in "Sister?"
The was when Blackie was in the band London, with Lizzie Grey.
Dose anybody know if any of the NY dolls with blackie were recorded?
No. He only played 2 or 3 gigs with them.
@@paulfelty945 I know he had a band with Arthur killer Kane did blackie fill in for Thunder's
Best song ive heard blackie sing
It's no wonder London never took off 🤭
Anyone know who the drummer was this?
Sounds like a cross between Slade and The Beatles.
Bar and grill ?
as I can download the song in mp3
Blackie is a old man chasing the neighborhood ice cream truck.
Rainbow
The raspy vocals were already there, a hint of what Blackie would become.
@rockstarfriend2049, do u remember how to play it? I'd really love to cover this with my band
Matt Calise
Somewhat, I played keyboards when we recorded it. Lizzie did all the guitars.
This is our version from 2003.

@maziku I think a book written by Blackie would be biased.. He already dismisses facts from the bands past (Rik Fox coming up with the name, ect..)
Go listen to "time for change" from Motley Crue's Dr Feelgood cd....you will hear they ripped this song off unless Nikki owned it from his time in London.
Typical.

Even if thats the case i still prefer this version.
wow, that explains why i love that song so much
