Whoa, this is such a blast from my childhood. Definitely one of my favourite songs, to this day. It sends a chill down my spine everytime I listen to this song again after so long.
Nice reaction, man! As you pointed, this song has a different vibe from the other Sound Horizon (or Linked Horizon) songs you've reacted to. It's because Sound Horizon isn't limited to a single style, but they actually have lots of songs with other styles, varying from classical, rock, folk, traditional japanese, greek folk, arabic and hispanic tunes, jazz, country, and even eletronic. Other thing, Sound Horizon's sole member is actually only Revo. The other artists are invited by him to play instruments or sing, but the "core" is only him, so the band musicians are often varying from release to release or from concert to concert. And finally, this is actually an old performance, hence the "smaller" stage in comparison to the ones you've reacted to. The band here is also way smaller.
If you didn't know, the person who composed this is Revo who did Bravely Default. His bands are Sound Horizon and Linked Horizon (when he collabs with others)
"*was* a mod", I see I have to increase my presence on the server again 😂 But on to the song! As I've said before, if I request anything from Revo, I will try to get the live version in because of the mixing and the production value! And this is one of the only two versions with six singers, the original only has three, so double the fun :D The singers' costumes are actually for characters of the rest of the medley, so sadly it has nothing to do with the game itself :( It's actually the same concert and singers as the Atelier Iris 3 opening! The game did get a western release, since it has become kind of infamous for its bad voice acting - I have linked one of the videos on Discord, you can also hear parts of the instrumental version of this track in that video 😊 As for the narrator, it's Akio Ōtsuka, a very well-known voice actor in Japan, both for games and anime. All of Revo's original songs make up a long story and narration is a vital part of those songs. So, he also uses that for his collab songa. One Bravely Default track/medley also has narration, you have just never gotten it :D There is one more game that has a Revo main theme that is not on your channel yet but I don't know whether I'll request that one or not ... but know for sure that if I did, it would be another live version 😂 Thank you for your reaction ❤
Wow, now this certainly is a way out of left field request. I wouldn't go as far as to say "Chaos Wars" is a completely unknown game but it certainly isn't one that most people have heard about, much less even played. It's a crossover SRPG of some pretty obscure but also some fairly liked franchises: "Neverland", "Growlanser", "Shadow Hearts", "Gungrave", etc. Think the only reason it escapes complete obscurity is due to its infamously bad English voice acting, so it frequently lands on "top bad voice acting" lists. And yeah, it really is that bad. If I remember correctly, the story goes is that the translators of the game got their family and friends to help do the voice acting. And that resulted in some absolutely wild choices. Like, full on borderline offensive stereotype voice acting. There's a character with a heavily accented Jewish man voice, it's at that level. The one I always remember is the one for Zelos, this gruff and snarky man (main character from "Blazing Souls" for reference)...with the voice of a literal child that can barely pronounce their words. For the most part, I do remember enjoying the game. I somehow managed to find an ad for it in a gaming magazine and preordered a copy way back in the PS2 days. Only issue is that, on par with the voice acting, the localization job is also shoddy. Character names and terminology is poorly translated (Yuri, an actual Russian name, turned into Uru for example), worse performance including constant long load times before and after every action, various bugs like menus disappearing, etc. It's such a mess that it essentially becomes borderline unplayable, even when you take steps to ease the issues like auto-skipping attack animations.
Chaos Wars was made by Idea Factory, one of the studios that makes and sometimes co-stars the Neptunia series... before they got a hold of things. This resulted in a tactical RPG crossover with a story all over the place and an instrumental of this song that plays way too much. What pushed the game all the way to being so bad it's funny was the studio that localized it going "nobody's gonna play dubbed" and opted to have his family voice act. Including the children.
This is a meme game. avoid. i've seen enough of people streaming this horrid game and you under no circumstances should need that type of gameplay content on your channel. DO look up the questionable voice acting though. absolutely do that but leave it at that.

The melodies and motifs in Revo’s songs are always so good.
Nice reaction, man!

Wait... Sound Horizon made music for Chaos Wars?
THAT Chaos Wars?
I... did not expect that at all. That is fantastic, though.

Wow this is so unexpected. When I was a child I loved this song sooo much❤

The dub is friggin' legendary in all its bizarrely, beautifully, nepotism-based glory. My friends and I would often quote it in high school.
Need more Sound Horizon ASAP

The song is great but the story behind the game this was put in is both sad and ridiculously funny
コップ厳つくて好き
Akio Otsuka to me is THE voice actor.
