I was expecting FeMc to have similar aloof personality like P3Mc or, according to the choices we get from the P3F, a tease to the boys. Didnt expect her to be optimistic airhead that knock a cops out and gag him. It sounds like smthh akihiko and mitsuru would do.
Basically, her personality is akin to that of P3MC. The difference is that she puts on a happy persona instead of his counterpart's idc persona. They basically have the same views about their parent's death, they just deal with it differently. In the drama cd, the party members actually worries about her. They know. But in the end, she had the same resolve as her counterpart. She genuinely have fun in the presence of her friends.
She is not an airhead. She is actually more genki girl turned Stepford Smiler. She puts on a happy appearance, but holds her pain and sadness inside to not upset or hurt others.
It was supposed to reflect her personality in P3P. She may be always smiling but she tends to hide her burdens and suffering. Later in PQ2, her 'hiding her burden and suffering' will be in full display.
I thought that Minako would be an absolute train wreck of fan service, but I’m actually really enjoying her and all of the other characters! Nearly all of my complaints on the writing of PQ1 have been addressed, so I’m ecstatic to try it out when it comes over!
If you guys remember FeMC was just actually acting cheerful and upbeat when in reality she was just as depressed as Makoto(She just didnt want to show it). Makes sense since they're the same people at their core. I just wish we had an ingame convo between FeMC and P3 Makoto regarding this kinda like how we had one for Shinji and Akechi

The inner darkness could also be a shared trait from having a Monster sealed inside them. Also it didn't seem like the differences in personality were completely superficial.
I'm reminded of trying to get those Letter of Recommendations in P5 where they each had an elaborate plan only to end up beating the shit out of the problem and taking them instead. In that regard, FEMC fits right in lol.
Wow, Minako definitely has some good strength and has developed some martial arts skills from fighting all those months in Tartarus. Well, she has to be to help her fight with that naginata that's a close range weapon. But I'm surprised even Morgana finds Minako pretty, and usually he only has eyes for Ann. Then again, Minako does get along best with Ann out of all the Phantom Thieves besides Joker, who's a fellow Wild Card like her.
If it cheers you up, Morgana still simps on Ann in this game. In regards to Minako, though I can't be I'm surprised anyone finds her cute in this game, apparently it's a similar case in P3P she just invigorates everyone she comes into contact with. In this game she really does seem to appreciate the PT's for giving her a place to belong in this game especially Joker both before and after she unites with the SEES team of Minato's reality.
