E3 started dying as soon as consoles could download demos. Going to E3 was basically just trailers, demos, and maybe some cool stuff on the show floor like Nintendo's statues and decorations, but a PVC plastic Donkey Kong isn't worth paying for a plane trip to California and a hotel room and an E3 ticket. I'm kinda surprised it didn't die sooner since they were so stubborn to change it to something all-digital so it would still be profitable. Like shit even if I had to pay like $15 for a pass that would let me download timed demos at home that would still be better than being 14 with no money sadly watching off-screen footage of a guy playing Sonic BOOM Rise of Lyric.
All the main line SMTs go hard, only one that wasn't great was the original version of 5. Sucks we gotta buy the entire game again at full price for an actual story tho
@@marcel-q1m I know they did it in the past, a lot of Japanese developers do, but over here in yeehaw land we only ever see the revised release like SMT3 Nocturne. But you'd think in the age of DLC they'd at least also release the new stuff as paid DLC, it's shitty to ONLY release it as a new full price game even on the Switch which already has the original version of the game >:[
@@aortaplatinum First time? ;-) It's actually a big chunk of Atlus marketing... re-release game with extra at full prices. (P4? P4G ! P3? P3F ! (P3R is in-between), P5? P5R !) And it goes on and on. Basically the master of making you double-dipping.
Joel made me say "Video game Olympics" anytime these types of events happen, thanks joebel
0:59 - 1:19 I can’t tell if the second half of this bit is the chats reaction or joels confusion after being possessed
yobel is here for the boof bears. hope that game is alright.
As soon as SGF killed E3 people started hating on it. To which I say 'good', in the exact way CDI Zelda did.

I really hope Joel plays Alan Wake II, I think he'd really like it and maybe get scared by it
Passionate, are we?
I envy you
I want to see him dunk on the Finnish for 7 hours
Unless Alan Wake II has aliens I doubt he's gonna find it scary.
He's gonna shitpost his way out of the darkness
I feel like there was too much cut
To be fair smt 2 goes hard af
