    Hi Everybody. Thanks for your nice comments. I'm going to be making another short as a pilot that spins off of this one, and I wondered, do you like seeing the words on the screen or is it fine without them? This short would be intended for cel phone distribution, if I can interest someone.

    PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make more of these, Sally! These are hilarious, there are few people whose humor I appreciate as much as yours! Also; Rolo may be the cutest robot ever. I wish he was here to hold my hand.

    I'm glad to see some of your Flash animation is still mounted on youtube! This is my favorite. Sinister cars that monitor us... demented appliances with their own AI agendas... identity theft... frightening things with fangs diminished by reductio ad absurdum humor... Thanks Ms. Cruikshank!

    Thanks for all your comments. I think youtube is a signifigant place, but boy, you can sure waste some time here! When I first explored youtube, some of my films had been posted by other people and I over reacted, asked them to remove them, probably should have left them up. oh well.

    The horny eyeball lamp is adorable, but I'm just always a big fan of eyeball creatures/eyeball robots.
    But what on Earth did Anita do with her old Rollo!?! And after all he did for her devilish schemes. I hope a Rollo story is on the horizon.

    This seems so non-sequitur and random, but it actually made more sense to me than your older works. Don't let the limitations of Flash stop you... there's plenty of ways to make traditional-style animation digitally now, and although they don't involve automated tweening, it's usually worth the effort.

    I can't believe how good these are! You're like the Chagall of Flash animation. I like the text boxes - for some reason it's funnier to read it and have the computer with it's weird accent say it again.

    Yes, you guessed it. I use the IBM text to voice software. If I had to hire actors and set up a recording I'd never do the animation. It's odd though that in the last five years I've been following text to speech there haven't been many breakthroughs in voice quality.

    Hi Sally, let me just say that you really are one unique animator. I don't think anyone can do surrealistic visuals as well as you can. That said though, I don't really get this. I feel like I missed the punchline, no offense.

    • @sallycruikshank
      @sallycruikshank  7 лет назад +5

      I was experimenting with ideas of the rapid loss of privacy which was fairly new at the time. I never really liked Flash but tried to use it. The voices were computer voices and at the time many people didn't want sound on their computers. (I know I didn't) So therefore the visible text as well. Also had to keep file size smaller then as dial-up was still in use.

    it is certainly helpful to have the subtitles...and i sort of like the 'Instant Messenger' aesthetic, but if you want your audience to work for it, then maybe leave them out? (although some of the word jokes might go unnoticed...) there is a fine line between holding us in contempt and not sacrificing your vision...
