So, if you are playing the warrior class, are you gonna find yourself using the same weapons and armor every run? Like is it just gonna go "Good sword, Better sword, Best sword" every single time u play? or are their different swords, also do you have to craft all the weapons, or can you say find a super powerful unique weapon from killing a boss
Different weapons have different skills: sword, axe, hammer etc... Also, different elemental weapons change how you exploit enemy weaknesses. Classes also may impact your weapon usage
mobs can drop weapons, but in general each class has preferred weapon types and different biomes have preferred armor - but it's always getting colder through a run.
Looks like an interesting game, but I think this is a pass for me. Not too keen on Rogue like or survival games at the moment. However if that changes I am sure I will give it a look.

I’m still a little hesitant about the saga mode. I’m curious can you log out during that two hour session and return? Besides that ,best video I’ve seen on the topic yet. Thank you
During saga mode I’m able to ‘save and quit’ if I want to continue later, so I don’t have to force myself to keep playing. There’s also an option to ‘abandon world’ which clears the current run so you can start fresh.
Game feels downright impossible in multiplayer, there's just too many people and not enough resources for everyone to craft + build up the base. I was able to get to day 13 solo, but can barely get to day 5 with other people, especially a full room.
Well most people in matchmaking are solo or groups an don't put anything in war chest after they used whatever they needed to craft, they just hoard em
This morning I finally beat a Jotnar for the first time in Solo Saga. I have come to realize having some balanced runes makes all of the difference in being prepared. Unfortunately I had to leave for work so had to bifrost escape after that first victory.
I have only seen 1 bug but it is a fun bug it's the super flying wolves leaping from higher ground at you. I think you have a fair score good job for me it's a solid 8 out of 10.
@@zombiegoatt4282 The bug I keep getting is while trying to repair items, occasionally the repair button randomly hides in the upper left of the screen. It may have something to do with someone else hosting the game + lag, hard to say.
Definitely in the MOBA-esq range of things as far as leveling and equipment are concerned due to being a roguelite tower defense game. It's hardly base building, far less than a Starcraft 2 or Don't Starve, but you need to upgrade defenses and buildings. It has arpg elements, combat is not turn based and you pick a class/character and level it up, but MOBAs have that too and no one is going to argue that MOBAs are arpgs. So, yeah, some of the marketing focused on that, which was misleading.
After countless hours in the PlayStation store looking for something to consume ( considering the micro transactional death of sports video games ) this instantly caught my attention, thanks for an amazing review.
Your loot drops when you die and you have to run back to it within ten minutes to get it back or it disappears. So far I’ve had no trouble retrieving it. No pvp
Not really it's timed you have a time frame to beat the the last boss day 14 by then your base will be attacked all the time none stop and it will be winter so if you don't have winter armor you will die slowly outside your base so you can't just take your time looking around you have to get loot to build up and prepare your self for the last boss
so 2 question I haven't buy it yet but I read some comment in the steam page and this game is like a rough life tower defend simulator right? and mostly you should play with a group of friend for better experiment ?
This game isnt based off the story of ragnarock its based off of The Shanarha Chronicles with the idea of planting the seed of the tree will save the relms
Love the video,. Question, is there a way becoming stronger? Or is it like new game every new map. I love to get op on a point in game. But if u start everytime to zero..
Within each run you get stronger. Better armor, weapons, and equipment, but once the run is over, you reset entirely for the next. The only sort of “beginning strength” that’s present is in the form of starter packs you can use to give yourself an edge from the get go (even though it’s not much)
The roguelite aspect comes in that you can start successive games loading in with equipment and runes that you otherwise would need to grind for out of the gate. First is starting with an axe and pickaxe, second is starting with full armor and a sword and so on. This lets you level sooner into a game as you can fight from the second you load in instead of like the first game or two where you need to loot everything you see just have a starting set of equipment. But like Buliwyf said, it is MOBA like in that you start at level 1 and have to level up yourself, your equipment and the buildings each game.
If you end up picking up the game anyways jasta me and a couple buddies are looking for more people to play this game with. Couldn't get all of my friends in on it unfortunately.
@@hmmdoh7835 the isn't really a a host it's more of a sever so if everyone leaves you can still be in the world and some people can still join within day 1 and 2 of the game after that no one can join the game
@@hollylu96 Mainly because of the CEO, Randy Pitchford, but also how the company has handled things on the business side (possible fraud, lies, etc) and how they treat their employees. They're a company that shouldn't have lasted this long.
Multiplayer is the way to play it solo you can but it will be a lot harder to get everything done before 14 days then if you play with 4/8 people online
I think in this case its more of a rotating bosses situation, where each 'season' there will be a completely different set of bosses to fight.. but yea I get what you mean.
That's not what it is at all, it's more in the lines of "The game is done, but we feel like we can upgrade it even further". That's why most games from the early 2000s lack content and features, imagine if the developers continued developing them after release.
Problem I have is the night cycle it gets to hard to quick. And players are just not helping with building defence. I built 3 archer towers by myself and no helped not even heal the tree but I get bored playing alone
A tip always build the mine 1st and lumber yard next those give you the items to build watchtowers Gates (bridge later) and upgrade them a lot faster if you didn't know passively generates the items every 9 minutes 8 of everything
So, this game has an offer on ps4 right now and I've been looking for info about it everywhere, many say that it's hard on solo, others they that is easy, that is better in co-op. Anyone can tell if it's worth it? I mean if it has a solid player base to play with if things get too hard on solo or if it's even enjoyable
This game looks sweet. Love your videos. However, as of right now, 6:25 am in Southern California, the game hasn't released yet. It doesn't release until 10 am 😑 Obviously it isn't that big of a deal, but someone, somewhere please explain what in the actual fuck is the point of releasing a video game specifically at 10 am and not, oh I don't know, anytime earlier than that on the day it's suppose to release? Lol 7 am, 8 am, we could also just go with fuckin midnight the night before!

Exactly. They didn't ! That is not that is not a new language! It is Old Norse / Icelandic. It's not Norwegian though. I am Norwegian, so I would know. :)
This is one of those games where you need to play with friends to get the long term appeal. Good thing they have public matchmaking to find people. Trying to make it far with friends and seeing how you all meet your doom makes for a fun chill session. The gameplay looks solid but it's the social aspect of playing with friends that will make it worth playing after the initial excitement wears off.
Not worth it for me. The rogue like aspect makes it way too tedious. Wish we could keep going on. Or not lose your progress all the time. Super not worth it.
Do you have to play the game single player to figure out what's going on or can a bunch of friends who have never played it before just hop in and play together for the first time? My friends and I like to go in blind and experience games together for the first time, but not every game is conducive to that.

Great vid! I love the game so far. Does anyone know the songs used throughout the vid? It's so good!
Try shazam maybe
How is the story mode ?
Who else is here because of PS+?
This game isnt based off the story of ragnarock its based off of The Shanarha Chronicles with the idea of planting the seed of the tree will save the relms
Love the video,. Question, is there a way becoming stronger? Or is it like new game every new map. I love to get op on a point in game. But if u start everytime to zero..
Within each run you get stronger. Better armor, weapons, and equipment, but once the run is over, you reset entirely for the next. The only sort of “beginning strength” that’s present is in the form of starter packs you can use to give yourself an edge from the get go (even though it’s not much)
So far it reads itself like a MOBA. Theres no real progress apart from new Classes to play within the next run.
But like Buliwyf said, it is MOBA like in that you start at level 1 and have to level up yourself, your equipment and the buildings each game.
you like games to get easier? lol
why cant i use the sliders for a customized survival like you showed it doesnt appear for me
Certainly seems interesting, sadly I don't have any friends interested in it and it seems like you would get the most out of it playing co-op.
If you end up picking up the game anyways jasta me and a couple buddies are looking for more people to play this game with. Couldn't get all of my friends in on it unfortunately.
It can be fun but I feel like I'm mostly running around spamming A or X
do u start over every new game or continue ur loadout like looter?
You can save the game and continue later
@@talhosnit4653 oic sounds like if u join random host if he/she left gg XD

Great video! All this info in just 10 minutes!
Sounds like an interesting game, shame it's tied to gearbox, which is an instant pass for me. I refuse to support that company.
How come?
After BL3 I'm with you.
@@hollylu96 Mainly because of the CEO, Randy Pitchford, but also how the company has handled things on the business side (possible fraud, lies, etc) and how they treat their employees. They're a company that shouldn't have lasted this long.
@@gearzdesign yeah I was just reading about that. What a bummer
Is this intended to be multiplayer or solo? It seems like it's leaning on the former
Solo is viable.
Multiplayer is laggy in a full 10 player room (ps4)
I think 3-4 players might be the way to go
Multiplayer is the way to play it solo you can but it will be a lot harder to get everything done before 14 days then if you play with 4/8 people online
Nice Review, this helps me a lot.
man i hate this trend of "new updates over time", all i hear when i read those sorts of developer models is "come back when the game is done"
Get used to or don't bother playing games
Does survival mode get harder each day if so is there a day it slows down or stops getting hard?
A downside to this game is at the moment it’s impossible to play survival on ps4/5 unless you pay for ps plus.
That's just most mulitplayer game on PS4/5...
Oh, you mean you cant play offline survivor without PS+?
@@crimphanto3229 not at all. I can only play saga solo

Idk the in game money shop is an instant turnoff.
@@Laroac yea, microtransactions in a paid game is kinda iffy
@@Laroac well its just a cosmetic shop no? who cares about that
@@robertstrbac9888 yup it has no P2W stuff in it. So if you want some cool looking gear as a cosmetic the shop is where it’s at
Problem I have is the night cycle it gets to hard to quick. And players are just not helping with building defence. I built 3 archer towers by myself and no helped not even heal the tree but I get bored playing alone
Yea some lobbies are annoying but I have got some amazing people in a few I would leave through bifrost for those lobbies
A tip always build the mine 1st and lumber yard next those give you the items to build watchtowers
Gates (bridge later) and upgrade them a lot faster if you didn't know passively generates the items every 9 minutes 8 of everything
My friend enjoys it , he said its not easy game But its enjoyable
Is Fextralife turning into IGN?

Think I'll pass, sounds like it has the same issues Sword of Ditto did. Way too little time to do anything.
This game looks sweet. Love your videos. However, as of right now, 6:25 am in Southern California, the game hasn't released yet. It doesn't release until 10 am 😑
Obviously it isn't that big of a deal, but someone, somewhere please explain what in the actual fuck is the point of releasing a video game specifically at 10 am and not, oh I don't know, anytime earlier than that on the day it's suppose to release? Lol 7 am, 8 am, we could also just go with fuckin midnight the night before!
It's a world wide release, so there's chance it's midnight for someone at least.

Exactly. They didn't ! That is not that is not a new language! It is Old Norse / Icelandic. It's not Norwegian though. I am Norwegian, so I would know. :)
Buy if you like a good roguelite, but this is no survival game, and I'm all for it
very good review!
The music tho. That in-game music?

So … you just keep doing the same loop gameplay? I’m not sure what the long term draw is
I mean it is 20$
@@brandongriffin938 you have a point there
This is one of those games where you need to play with friends to get the long term appeal. Good thing they have public matchmaking to find people. Trying to make it far with friends and seeing how you all meet your doom makes for a fun chill session. The gameplay looks solid but it's the social aspect of playing with friends that will make it worth playing after the initial excitement wears off.
This game would have been perfect on the switch :/
So disappointed this doesn't have local Coop
Not worth it for me. The rogue like aspect makes it way too tedious. Wish we could keep going on. Or not lose your progress all the time. Super not worth it.
might try this hate rogue likes and survival games but love 3rd person co op games
my brain is confused
So what about it don’t you like? What keeps it from a 9?
Not everything has to be flawless sir
@@markusmitchell8585 no I mean what did you not like about it? I want to know. (Sorry if I missed this part in the video)
I wish devs would stop to use cropped ultrawide on UE4 when the engine supports HOR+ natively. This is getting so annoying.
how about solo game? Im just worrying about it!

Good review, not buying. Thanks.
Do you have to play the game single player to figure out what's going on or can a bunch of friends who have never played it before just hop in and play together for the first time? My friends and I like to go in blind and experience games together for the first time, but not every game is conducive to that.
