I used a tiny bit of blue steel diluted with conditioner today on my Lvl 9 /8 recently bleached hair and it cancelled out all yellow and orange tones ... I did add a tiny bit of manic panic purple haze also .... I’m so pleased.
Just found your video. The best manic panic blue steel video so thorough. Thank you!
Thank you! This is exactly what I was looking for, and so helpful to see the varied beginning colors and the results after different timing. I am trying to go to my natural peppered silver and used semi-perm black dye for years, thinking I could easily remove it, but Color Oops turned my hair orange this weekend! I used Blue Panther over it because that's what I had in the cupboard, but for the long term I want a blue-silver and I was afraid that blue steel might turn green if hair has marigold undertones. I really appreciate the time you took to demonstrate this, and I think when the Blue Panther washes out, Blue Steel will be the long-term solution for me.
just one video and boom! subscribed. awesome video 😍
Thanks for the support! ;)
You could have done a, naturally grey hair swatch as I'm grey I would like to see how these direct dyes work on grey hair
Did you every try the Blue Steel on grey hair? I've used quite a few direct dyes, and the white hairs are like a pure blank canvas and soak up the colors like a sponge. Lie Locks as almost flourescent, Artic Fox Periwinkle was also vivid, and the Blue Panther is navy indoors or in the evening, but royal blue in bright light. I'll try Blue Steel this autumn. It really depends how much white you have and what your non-white colored hairs are., I think. The results I mention are for more than 50% white, and the rest black.
Loving this video!
Thank you!
I assume you used the colour neat, not mixed with conditioner? I wish you made that clear, otherwise it's a very useful video, thanks...
Hi, first of all thank you for showing the results on each type of hair, it’s helpful. I want to know if I apply Manic Panic Blue Steel on an already blue hair, will it make it blueish or grayish? Because I want my hair blue, not gray that looks like blue. Should I change it?
thank you so much! your videos are so helpful
Thank you for this video!! ❤️
You are welcome!
Hi! I’m a level 9-10 (some of my hair lifted a bit more) and am wondering how this fades? I’m concerned about a greenish tint since my hair has some yellow in it. Any help would be very much appreciated!
the blue tones cancel out yellow tones so it should’ve looked grayish!!
@@emi-tc5pt Blue tones cancel out orange tones, purple cancel out yellow
@@DenDarEmi blue and purple are analogous colors so they do the same thing to anyone with yellow toned hair depending how long that person keeps the toner in their hair. you shouldn’t be putting toner on orange hair if you’re trying to achieve a level 9-10 bc it simply wouldn’t lift. & this manic panic blue steel should cancel out any yellow tones in their hair if it was already level 9-10..
@@emi-tc5pt You should always be careful with blue and yellow when it comes to hair because blue and yellow makes green while purple and yellow cancel each other out. Blue Steel has the possibility to make one hair green if you have yellow tones in it(from experience) Blue and purple are analogous just as yellow and orange but it makes a big difference depending which ones you mix since blue and orange are on the opposite to each other and same with yellow and purple
Just bought this today, wish me luck 🙏💙💜🤍
Thank you for making this video..really helped!
hi , did you dilute the manic panic with the conditioner-thingy or did you use it concentrated ? BTW the video is really useful, thank youuu !!
Hi, no conditioner at all or any additional product, just straight out of the bottle itself! And you are welcome ;)
Mine went green after using this product for 5 minutes. I just finished bleaching my hair, will try again and see what happens
I love this video!! Very helpful thank you!
You are welcome! ;D
Looks nice! 👌 I have been coloring my hair medium chestnut brown for years. my natural hair color is medium brown (fairly dark) with a 40% gray hair, approx. Most gray at the temples and the front. I am getting tired of coloring it all the time. Preferably let it turn gray. But please prefer a modern gray shade. Would this product be okay for my hair! or should I have my hair bleached first? Thank you in advance! ☺
Hi, so is your current hair color medium brown? On my video test, this dye only worked up dark blonde hair, so if you want silver hair you would need to bleach it, to light blonde to at least dark blonde. On brown hair, blue steel will turn it into cool ashy brown, but not grey or silver.
If you want modern grey color, and don't want to bleach, I have another recommendation. It is manic panic Amethyst ashes color, which is dark grey color and turns even brown hair to grey brown after 30 minutes. It wouldn't be light silver or true grey, but this one shows up better on brown hair than Blue steel. (It is more stronger dye) I have my review link here : ruclips.net/video/X9F8dlhnZOA/видео.html Check it out and see if you like it!
If you have more questions let me know! happy to help. Also please just take my opinions as suggestions, as I am not a hair expert, choice is ultimately yours.
@@everyhaircolor3190 Thank you for your answer.☺ The dark gray also looks nice and might be the better option! Your tutorial was very useful to me! Many thanks! Greetings ☺
you are welcome and thanks for liking tutorials! it is huge support. Good luck with your hair color change! ;)
@@everyhaircolor3190 thankx! ☺😊😚
Amazing!! And no green!!
Thank you!
Thank you so much!!
did you use it with developer or conditioner? Beautiful result!
Thanks! Nothing added here just straight out of the jar
I'm aiming for something in between your 30 min swatches of blue steel and dark star and I'm wondering if an hour of blue steel would do that (on very light hair)
Hi, I don't think it will. Blue steel is a light blue-based dye, when dark star is a purple based dye which turns true grey on blonde hair. I think if you leave the blue steel for an hour it will get slightly darker than the swatch on the video, but it will not turn to true deep grey like dark star is.
Also Blue steel is one of the subtle grey dyes from Manic Panic so I don't think it will get really dark even if you do leave it for longer time. Other grey dyes like Dark Star and Alien Grey are the ones that are more rich and pigmented. Blue steel is more light, similar to hair toners (but bit more pigmented than toners)
But that is just my assumption, if you do try the method, please let me know how it turns out bc I am curious too! Hope this helps
Game changer!
So if I had a mix of brown, dark blonde and light blonde with tones of both orange and yellow, will I end up with a cool brown with green highlights?
Why is it called blue steel if it's not blue?
Because it's got blue undertones
Don't know why but it didn't do anything to my very blonde hair
Hi, how long did you leave it on for? Blue steel is a subtle hair dye, it might take bit long to develop depending on a person's hair.
@@everyhaircolor3190 oh I used the regular blue steel I didn't know there was a stronger kind until recently. Just 30 minutes but I was confused cus it said on video that it took 5 minutes to make difference
Hi, no I used a regular kind too. I meant the regular blue steel is a subtle dye, compared to other manic panic dyes. Wonder why it didn't work for you! For tips, I use it on dry hair and dab thoroughly, and sometimes double up the time (on my actual head) if it doesn't work. But thanks for the review, I don't mind other honest reviews!
@@everyhaircolor3190 thanks for the tips :)
hi, is this the classic formula or amplified?
classic formula!
What level of hair is dark blonde?
Hi, it is about 8!
I want to try this but I'm so scared lol my hair varies between level 8 to 10 depending on where it is. I'm afraid of having blue gray hair mixed with gold/beige blonde. 😬😬😬
Was this hair virgin hair?
