I was doing fine on my training schedule up until my 20 mile long run. Something happened to my knee and was only able to run a total of 5.5 miles in the month before my race. I went ahead and did the race and was actually able to finish in 3.51. My only marathon and the hardest thing Ive ever done.
Thank you for sharing this - I came down with the flu right after my longest run (18 miles) and have only ran 4 miles in the last 10 days. Marathon is in 3 weeks and feeling better + after watching this video and reading your comment!
Nice work, just watched this before my final long run for a marathon in 15 days. Not sure I could cope with training in that sort of heat. Good luck for Chicago marathon.
Agree with the tasty bubbly drinks after a longer run! I ran 5.5 miles last weekend which was my longest ever (training for a 10k) and immediately craved a Vernors when I was done 😅
Hey Nicole, nice run/vlog! I have to say, I was saddened by the fact that you couldn't go out for your long run in the morning alone because of safety/fear. Not pointing the finger at you, but the other way, that we live in a world that you have to factor in them things, especially as a female! Also that as a male that I don't even think of that as in issue for me, so it's quite sad. Ok maybe there is some difference as I live in Europe vs USA. But I'm sure you understand what I am saying....hopefully. Just found your channel looks great, all the best with your running for 2024 :) Marc
I wear the same shorts and am slightly paranoid about my Maurtens always partly sticking out. So far they never fell off but I only wore then on 60 min runs. Did you ever have gels fall off the lane 5 shorts? I'm about to start taking them on my long runs hoping to ditch the hydration vest as I mimic my race outfit
I used salt tabs today but I kept them in a nuun container tube!! (The nuun electrolyte tablet things come in a tube) It worked great! But there was a lot of bouncing around so I think next time I’m guna put a napkin in there or something!
I am a 6 in Lulu as well and wear a small in the lane 5 tracksmith shorts! But I size up to medium in the rest of their shorts (bell lap, twilight split short, session shorts)
I love the long form content! Please keep it coming!!
Yay thank you!!! Appreciate you for watching 🥰

I was worried about this too but I’ve worn these shorts on countless long runs AND during a marathon and have never had the issue!!!
Hey Nicole, could you do a how to video on how you tape your knee? I’ve been taping mine but would like to know how you tape yours. Thanks!
