    Been a sub for the past 3 or 4 restorations, what would be interesting is if you show the camera the label of what you are squirting on the guitar so we can see what you are using. I would like to try and restore and old guitar myself and would be helpful.

    Just finished a Höfner senator restoration including removing the aluminium H bar installing a truss rod in its place. Same problems . Lumpy fingerboard, neck re set. It came with no pick up, bridge, compensator tailpiece pick guard or tuners. I had the neck clamped to a solid piece of aluminium square for three months to straighten the neck. It will never have super low action but it can be played easily again. Sourcing parts was very costly. Definitely not an economic proposition.

      Yep, I hear you. I did the same with my other one which doesn’t have a trust rod but I managed to get it really playable. Not a super valuable guitar but I have a thing for them as it’s what my Dad owned. ✌️

    No sabía que el tornillo de sujeción de la correa atravesaba la cepa del mástil hasta atornillarse en la cepa del cuerpo? Era lo primero que tenía que haber quitado...

      If you listen to what I was saying the bolt was lodged in, I removed the inner nut but the bolt was stuck.

    Dovetail with 1 bolt seems like a considerable engineering flaw . set the neck right remove the awful placed strap button and forget it .

    • @RisingSunGuitarMods
      @RisingSunGuitarMods  3 месяца назад

      Yea my other Hofner doesn’t have the bolt/screw. I was too unsure not to put it back in. I cleaned the joint up good and made a nice tight fit, but there just isn’t much there holding it in so I was worried it would come apart without the screw. Seams all good now and the strap button doesn’t bother me. 🤘🏼

      @@RisingSunGuitarMods yes sir . people noticed the change in the 3 bolt CBS fenders in the 70's . Hofner can be a decent guitar but never going to be Gibson fender or PRS . all my resto's i fix any antiquated design flaws . they didn't know back then . great work

      Part 2 is coming man, restoring is a good amount of cleaning so yea the body just needed the finish bought back to life. I’d say a cut and polish is a little more than just a clean.
