Gee I think there was about 5 or 6 very odd ref calls in that game. The almost instant play-on call after Murphy took a defensive mark leading to a turn-over. The high shoots on Murphy and Johnson. The deliberate out of bounds on DeGoey when Murphy was being helped off. The Crows player being about 5 meters over the mark and thus putting pressure on IQ leading him to kick it out. Refs had an odd one.
@holdingthebull the only reason you were in the game was because of the umps. They never allowed Collingwood to get going, and they're solely responsible for you getting that many set shots
Another one I can think of, in the Adelaide vs Collingwood game, Murphy gets called to play on despite not seeming to step off the mark. I think it was about halfway through the 2nd quarter. Could just be the Collingwood bias for me, but the commentators mentioned it. Also, love the videos mate, keep it up!
and the free against Darcy Moore for just standing there and taking a mark. He was standing still and copped front on contact and somehow it was an Adelaide free kick.
Great vid, again. I'd like to ad the bizarrely quick play on call after 1 of Murphy's marks in the Pies Crows game. Totally caught him off guard and led to a turn over, pretty weird one.
4:30 that whistle sound is when the pea gets stuck in the hole where the air comes out. Happens every now and again and its a bit embarassing when all the players look at you 😂
I thought for the collingwood vs adelaide game towards the end the umpires were making some poor decisions one of the main ones being no mark or free kick payed to nathan murphy and this could be very bad for him as he has had many concussions in the past and even one last week. Edit: I didn't watch any other games lol
I thought Cameron couldn't be beaten. I was very wrong. This is the best goal of the year contender since Betts in 2019 Very nice goal that really should have been a free the other way... Good watch though Probably an incorrect disposal before Greenes but hard to tell when I'm just watching a highlight. The man is about the best big moment player there is. Also the little Swan's fan having a hissy in the background is priceless That was more than just a brilliant move. A goal goes to the centre bounce. A kick in has a high chance of coming back down your end. It was very calculated and I was in awe watching even as a Crows fan Not nearly as bad as any of the Crows missed shots The 50 I think was fair because he had followed the player up. Port have been acting odd around marks a bit lately. I've seen Powell Pepper lurking in protected zones at least twice (and I don't watch many Port games). Wonder if it's being trained to push crowd like that Rankine kicks that but shanked a regulation run into open goals. Very much a don't over think it player That tackle was weaker than a light beer with ice cubes. Gotta flush those That is definitely a free. I don't want to sound like an apologist here but the 2 big frees not payed to the Pies that game I actually kinda get. That was a genuine contest from Fogarty. There was no malice so watching in real time from ground level it may not have looked so bad. A big missed call I agree but I don't think it was the "crowd reinforcement" most think it is. The one in the square with Butts again was probably being viewed through about 15 other players in real time. Definitely worth bringing up but the "favouritism" for any team is a joke Totally fair as a 50 for time wasting. It allows zoning to lock the ball inside 50. Odd but I think was a great call That's the way it's called now. Should see a week minimum (depending on injury/testing) Distance was a bit of an issue so he tried the Buddy sweep kick... Think a pass was probably best He was on the mark wasn't he?? That's usually the place you know where the opposition will come from Just a good old fashioned falcon. Love it Stephenson like a kid arguing with parents had to have the last word and had to go to his room. Poor form Ha... Pee whistle. Never gets old As casual as it gets. Great goal Honestly he probably came from deep defence. But someone needed to cover him. But I am probably missing context (like a turnover while the Hawks were running offensively) Nick Newman Also could have had Rankine and his shank in there. That was the worst I've seen since Georgiadis last season when Port played Melbourne
Maybe not as odd, but Charlie Curnow running into 50 late in the Blues-Eagles game when he was on 9 goals and deciding to do the unselfish thing and pass it to a teammate up ahead (at least that's what it looked like. Maybe he was tired by then).
Alot of the dangerous tackles this year i think come from the umpires not calling holding the ball. Player tries to run and fend off, gets caught, spun three times, drops the ball, picks it back up, tacked again then throws it away.. as a tackler what more can you do?
The umpires in the last 5 minutes of Collingwood vs crows were shocking, they let way to many call go against both sides and Murphy was definitely hard done by but what makes it worse is that he’s bleeding trying to get off the ground with that help of medical staff and play is still going on around them
Missed the Kiddy Coleman free against where he stepped off his mark, didn't realize it, Brayshaw tackled him, he got a clean handball out but was still pinged.
The Michael Walters decision is correct imo. Harris Andrew’s loses grip of him which would count as a broken tackle at the last moment otherwise it’s HTB.
If Harris held on and was still holding when Walters went to round then yes I think HTB but it is probably close enough to breaking the tackle to be play on
the cameron out on the full is not an oddity, oliver did it against west coast, with the same result. becuase the ball is out of bounds already when cameron kicks it away from the boundary it is considered time wasting and therefore a freekick.
commentators touched on it but eagles v carlton the size difference bewteen the defenders on charlie curnow and chazza himself is a bit strange, and the fact the eagles did nothing different to account for this fact could be an oddity? anyways nic newman had a bloody bucket load of disposals, and charlie kicked nine so what can ya do🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
that would have to be one of the worst umpired games on the collingwood and adelaide game, they need to really step up and start focusing more. go pies
jaidyn stephenson's fall from grace once being one of Collingwood's best goal kickers to probably the most mediocre player in North. What a shame. He's a loudmouth as well.
i love your content, but to progress as a content creater you really need to sort out the bias that leaks into your videos... you can't show the daicos miss or the bobby hill miss without showing the rankine miss (arguably the worst of the night) in such a crucial time. Rankine dished out some grubby acts and then was one of the reasons his side lost, I don't think that should go unrecognised in a video such as this one. and no, before some funeral home dweller chimes in, I am not a collingwood fan.
That's true. Rankine miss was important to the crows too. They had so many chances and umpires benefitted them many times but just couldn't kick straight. I definitely try to keep my bias out of videos
I think a big oddity is how Tom Hawkins never kicked above 7 until this week
How good was that. He made it look easy
he usually gives them away over 6
Another oddity is Adelaide vs collingwood high tackle on ash Johnson in the goal square
I was just about to say the same thing.
Definitely was a free there. As a crows fan I thought we got very lucky with the umps
Gee I think there was about 5 or 6 very odd ref calls in that game. The almost instant play-on call after Murphy took a defensive mark leading to a turn-over. The high shoots on Murphy and Johnson. Definitely a strange no call there. I was watching and I was angry cause the crows gave away a dumb free. But then they didn't. Such an odd sequence.

Fogarty had his eye on the ball so it can't be front on contact but did get him high. So free kick to Murphy
The entire last quarter of the Collingwood Adelaide game was an oddity

I went to the Crom yesterday and when noble got the goal from pedlars punch I knew it was over
