i'm not 100% sure but i think it does add to your main menu shop currency for you to unlock more stat boosts per ship, there are more raiden ships to unlock too 3 or 4 dont know the exact amount.
@@br1zl529 I can't seem to find any info online anywhere. I figured they were just store coins but I can't seem to figure out which ones give the most. Ah, well. Give it a couple weeks and someone will figure it out. I've already unlocked 3 ships but the next one wants 25,000 and I just rolled my eyes.

Yellow medal: worth 20 coins each.
Green medal: worth 100 coins each.
Red medal: worth 500 coins each.
