I immediately clicked on the video when I saw it was about Bourkes. I have 7 of them and they are one of my favorite small parrots. I always said if I just wanted to keep one species, it would be Bourkes. They are very quiet, their song is candy to my ears. They are gentle, sweet and non destructive. I dont recommend clipping their wings as they dont climb the cage bars like budgies do, they need their wings to get around. One of mine is 16 years old. I feed mine a mix of Cockatiel and canary mix, Australian goldenfeast and tops pellets. They eat a variety of fresh foods daily. Great podcast!
My male is a " pineapple" beautiful yellow, grey in wings. Had him 3months, don't think he had been handed, now happily eats from my palm loves head&neck tickles.
Aloha from Hawaii 🌺 I have 2 male handfed Bourke’s and they’re just so awesome. If I was to have just 2 companion birds, it’d be just them. So tame. So gentle, very independent, and just amazing in so many ways! Would recommend to any bird lovers!
Great Podcast. THANKS! For introducing viewers to the Australian Bourke Parrots They are awesome & fun to have in an aviary with finches. Super friendly birds.
I also raise handfed bourkes (Oklahoma), and people drive for hours to get them, as they are such good pets. I even wrote an article about them to help people be familiar with them and decide if they were right for them.
I love that. I wish I had more time to hand feed mine but just don’t have that as an option at the moment. I’d love to read your article and promote it for you if you want to send me the link to it?
I have passed by bourkes at the bird show, but never gave them consideration. Now i definitely will. Thanks! You guys got me interested in bourkes in previous podcasts and in this one , you pretty much answered all the questions I had.

Yep I think they’d be my “only one bird” choice as well!
Thanks for sharing. I have loved some of the videos that you have posted on your bourkes. Such awesome birds.

Super friendly birds.
Yeah! We realized as we were filming that they’re really too of the heap!
Yes couldn’t agree more. Thanks for watching.
I'd like a synchronized "bird brain" outro also. Doing the male "Bourke-dancing" would also be a big plus 👍
Hahah, maybe we will mix it up in the outro!
Haha maybe one day 😄😄
They are gorgeous colours - especially those soft pinks. Rubino is my favourite.
Yes mine as well.
Great video again! Love bourkes and they are great pets! Wish I still had mine.
Get some!
Yeah they really are. I have really enjoyed them.

Glad we could answer your questions. I do have some young bourkes that I’m currently selling if you’re interested? I do ship to the lower 48 states.
@@birdnerd My wife and I may be interested. Can you send me some info?
