    It is great to see you go back to the basics, hardtails have gotten SOOO much better these days, they are lighter, stronger, with agressive geometry and nice big wheels, it is a joy to ride them and instantly feel the difference, all the feedback from the trail, the drops, the pumping, the speed, the rear sliding etc... It is exciting after being in a fullsuspension for long, and it brings back nice memories of simpler times, when we just had a helmet and a crappy bike but all the will to go out there and have fun.

    Do you still use Native White Balance? It's sort of a pain in the but. Reds never look quite right. And every time I make a new LUT or preset, it only works in those specific lighting conditions. As soon as I change the white balance to adjust, red gets messed up again. My wife rides a spectral with red on it so It drives me nuts when the red looks orangish or purplish. Also, native has a yellowish cast to it. I used to just shift the hue over a bit and then everything would look okay, EXCEPT RED. Ugh, I think I might just go back to using 5500k. At least red looks normal there and I can always pull back the over saturated blues. Thoughts?

    • @JordanBoostmaster
      @JordanBoostmaster  5 лет назад +1

      I am using Native White Balance, it is the best option if you really know how to use it. I know EXACTLY what you mean by the weird color hues, it does have a yellower tint, certain colors are more accurate and others are off, I am really annoyed by it. However a few months ago I got a new software called 3D lut creator and I have since been able to completely correct all the color issues so that it looks perfect! But ya I know what you mean, I was never really happy before hand, and a lot of redoing of clips

      @@JordanBoostmaster I've been able to correct it pretty good now with the latest update to Lumetri on Premiere. You can fine tune stuff like crazy now. I spent all day experimenting today. Plus size tire do provide more grip, but especially when riding loose terrain. Like you said, it could be the compound or tire pressure or even knobs pattern...
    And they also act as suspension (works best for hardtail and tubeless tyres with low pressure)

    Wide tires can't always cut into dust/mud/loam to get traction. I was on a quest a few years back to go ever wider (mainly to make my DH bike look more rad) and was disappointed but also happy to find that 2.35/2.4 is my best go to in anything loose or deep. My experience only. Your mileage may vary.
    Great looking bike! Looks like a lot of fun to ride. Now, time to see if I have the same rear shock on my DH bike that you have, that could be a problem haha.

    First of all, great video, unexpected and really nice, second of all I run the same tires and they are grippy as hell, but I run between 12 and 20 psi with tire inserts, so might have been that you pumped them too much? Also yeah, coming from downhill soft compound tires, that is unbeatable. I come from a cross country background with skinny hard compund tires so it was a hell of an upgrade. so far I have tried two plus tires: schwalbe nobby nics 2.8 hard compound ( speed grip) and Maxxis minion DHF 2.8 3C max terra Exo (soft compund) And I noticed the difference a lot, the maxxis are wayyy grippier and the pattern works better for all kinds of terrain, the nobby nics were unpredictable, sometimes I got good grip, sometimes I slid and crashed, they were sketchy and I needed to lower the pressure waayy too much to make them work so yeah, I made the right call, the maxxis still work very well at 30 psi which goes to tell. Also the terrain, plus tires are better for the dry sandy kind of trail, but for mud or wet, softer skinnier tires tend to feel and work better. Hope that helps, they definitively take som time to gettig used to, they are bigger so the physics affect them, wheight, rotation, mass, width, compound, are all things to consider when buying and riding them. have a nice day:)
