@@JacksonVivienbach Yes, i think the NVIDIA shield TV is much better then the other console. Ps4 and Xbox one and the next console ps5 and Xbox series X can't be so good like Nvidia shield TV.
Bobby Torres The point would be the ability to play your games in another part of the house without having to buy two copies of each one and not be able to sync your saves.
***** You have the ability to stream a game from your own local gaming PC (as long as you have a compatible nvidia card obviously) which is why i called it an accessory. I guess I just dont see Nvidia's Grid game streaming taking off but I'm probably wrong. I personally would prefer NOT to stream a game but to run it locally.
It streams through your PC and THROUGH THE INTERNET. You can launch a game on the nvidia servers and the video comes to your home. I have a 10Mbps internet and the games don't lag. Sorry man but I in no way fit into your "You Guys" argument. I have owned and enjoyed most all of the major consoles over the years and have never been or ever will be a fanboy for any console or IP. They can all do what ever they want with their franchise games, if its a game I like I play it if not I play something else. I'm just not interested in playing more games that revolve around their franchise characters regardless of gameplay, sorry but its all very stale at this point. Not hating on Nintendo just stating why I no longer have interest in their products.
the argument of they make the same games for years is stupid ps4 has god of war a game thats been around for years it has final fantasy its been around for years crash bandicoot years the whole argument of its been around for years and is stale is just sony fanboys spewing garbage. all three consoles play the same old games for years. its when you change the game and make it better that sells. if you want something different id suggest dropping gaming all together because games are copied and remade all the time.
The most important nvidia shield feature is that it's android, which means you can sideloaded a bunch of apps including google chrome, and install a near infinite amount of apps including emulators. Natively, the shield has hundreds of entertainment apps compared to just a handful on PS4. As for games, almost every interesting title available is also on PC, usually at a much lower cost if you take advantage of sales, and I stream it to my living room via ethernet. I can play keyboard and mouse games like path of exile in my room, and stream controller support games in the living room. Oh and I have my 1 TB harddrive and 64 go microsd card plugged in it, so the base 16 go shield tv is good enough for me. Meanwhile, my PS4 is accumulating dust, my playstation plus has expired and I'm basically keeping the console for Uncharted 4. Oh and did I mention it streams 4k content to my 4k tv. The shield tv gives you all the freedom of a pc in a console experience, and at $200, in my mind, it's totally worth it.
Wouldnt it be better if i get the 16GB Version and then buy a $70 1TB SSHD and put it in my nvidia shield, instead of paying $100 and getting a 500GB HDD

Aayush Bajoria Pretty sure wifi direct has nothing to do with your internet speed. Its just using the same type of wireless connection to connect to the console.
Aayush Bajoria I used it when i had a shield tablet, doesn't look the best but it is the most ergonomic controller i have used. My only slight complaint with it is the parallel sticks it has like the PS3/4, would have been even better if it was like the 360/one controller in this aspect.
bob james That's not how the shield works. Games area streamed from NVidea's GRID network which is a bunch of servers running games at 1080p, 60fps, ultra settings. Also a 350$ PC will directly compete with the PS4.
dxvolt you don't need an i5 or a 350$ GPU. her's a nice cheap build that will beat out the PS4. pcpartpicker.com/guide/cQPxFT/wont-find-a-cheapest-midhigh-1080p-rig Also here's a PC that is slightly worse than the PS4 that can still play 900p games fine at 45fps+ pcpartpicker.com/user/Overlordx666/saved/YFzgXL
Jack Shore what argument is that? This isn't a PC. He compared two consoles. If the argument you are suggesting here is PC vs Console, this did not put an end to it...
The PS4 has best looking games, all its exclusives look even above maxed out pc games Knack, Killzone, infamious, the order, driveclub and bloodborne look better than pc multiplats
DON'T LISTEN TO THIS NOOB REVIEWER TALK ABOUT THE Nvidia Shield TV. It can stream play pc quality games at 1080p 60fps from remote servers that have better graphics than ps4 and xbox one. This box only costs 200 dollars for pc grade graphics. Sure it relies on internet access. But here in sweden 250 mbps connection sets me back 28 USD per month. No need for a pc or a console for those amazing graphics. When the paid service comes out they're promising the latest triple AAA titles as well as when you purchase a game you get a steam key for it. I feel this could potentially be a console killer in places where the internet access is up to scratch and they get all the latest games on grid. After all grid is just a pc and it can have any pc game installed on it. It's just about getting the rights to do so. This could be like netflix was to movies and spotify to music. Please don't listen to this shit reviewer.
"Very useful, especially to people like myself that just want to get PC games onto their TV without having to think about it too much." I didn't realize that using an HDMI cable was so complex O.o
When I was a kid I used to play 8 bit video games and they were so fun! Today people keep improving graphics and computing power, but that is definitely not where the fun is. Anyway, it is interesting to see how things are progressing :)
I had the Nvidia Shield Portable when it launched and would prefer it over any portable console out except for the 3ds for obvious reasons, so I can see the use of having a tv version. It was an awesome device for things like emulators, tegra based games like half-life 2 etc. If I had a better PC, I could see how streaming would be useful as well. However, if you don't have a beefy PC, then it gets old pretty quick. The Portable is a better choice since it's basically a beefed up android tablet/controller combo. I'd rather have that as my dedicated portable, and an actual console for gaming in the living room. At least with a console you don't have to worry about compatibility with PC/games and specs. And if you do have the shield console, why would you want to move it anywhere? Also, you can expect to get into arguments with your wife over TV time if you stream. She will say, "why don't you just go play your PC?" At least with a console you can justify it by saying, "But honey, I don't have this game on PC" LOL!
Really nice video but i have a question. I have a 30mbps connection and I also love in Greece . So can I stream from my pic at 1080p 60fps without any problems right????
7:01 most of the games on thier store are NOT android games you can find on your smart phone but they are games that nvidia ported from pc to the nvidia shield and ONLY work on the nvidia shield.
you should compare game cost on both system instead and lots of game is free on the nvidia and cost money on the ps4 for same game. does the nvidia shield work with google photos app?
In my opinion some of you guys just don't get the idea, i'm amazed and almost sure this will be the future of gaming. No more software piracy or hardware issues and it's just a beginning. i'm so sorry for people with weak internet speed :D
The SHIELD can be used as the different emulators to play older games. Donkey Kong, Mario, Road Rash etc etc. Also with KODI, all the TV series and movies are at your fingertips.
You should re-do this video now that Nvidia has Geforce Now.

Aayush Bajoria Pretty sure wifi direct has nothing to do with your internet speed. Its just using the same type of wireless connection to connect to the console.
Oh,my bad, I didn't know
:/
Aayush Bajoria I used it when i had a shield tablet, doesn't look the best but it is the most ergonomic controller i have used. My only slight complaint with it is the parallel sticks it has like the PS3/4, would have been even better if it was like the 360/one controller in this aspect.
Aayush Bajoria i too think its shit and i think that the touch pad thing was like STOLEN >>>fuckers!!!!!
What games did you play?
nvidia shield ($200) + High-end PC capable of competing with consoles (roughly $500) vs PS4 ($350).
Seem's like a pretty pointless comparison.
bob james That's not how the shield works. Games area streamed from NVidea's GRID network which is a bunch of servers running games at 1080p, 60fps, ultra settings.
Also a 350$ PC will directly compete with the PS4.
dxvolt you don't need an i5 or a 350$ GPU.
her's a nice cheap build that will beat out the PS4.
pcpartpicker.com/guide/cQPxFT/wont-find-a-cheapest-midhigh-1080p-rig
Also here's a PC that is slightly worse than the PS4 that can still play 900p games fine at 45fps+

The guy above me is a pc fanboy,
And one more thing, Bloodborne. Nuff said
Marlowe Vera Cruz but bloodborne is shit bruh.
What game is featured at the 5:31 and the 5:50 spots during this video ?
Ps4 better gaming machine 😂 yeah games doesnt matter much😂 no games
Xbox one doesn't have games either. 😂
I think Sony and Microsoft should come together and make the ultimate console
The playbox or xstation or whatever
I think that would be really cool
Jack Shore what argument is that? This isn't a PC. He compared two consoles. If the argument you are suggesting here is PC vs Console, this did not put an end to it...
The PS4 has best looking games, all its exclusives look even above maxed out pc games
Knack, Killzone, infamious, the order, driveclub and bloodborne look better than pc multiplats
***** still look better than any pc game
Your commentry is very nice man.
+missman2106 Who care lmao!!!
+missman2106 Who care lmao!!!
how about price?
Nice video. Thanks for making and sharing it.
"Very useful, especially to people like myself that just want to get PC games onto their TV without having to think about it too much."
I didn't realize that using an HDMI cable was so complex O.o
It’s complicated because not everyone has their TV right next to their PC. A 5-10 meter HDMI cable isn’t an easy task lol
what's the game on 5:49?
It's name is Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons.
Derively thank u :)
Speaking about performance, why you didn't get the full framerate at the same game on same situation?
Really good review and comparison 👍
When I was a kid I used to play 8 bit video games and they were so fun! Today people keep improving graphics and computing power, but that is definitely not where the fun is. Anyway, it is interesting to see how things are progressing :)
whats the price difference between the 2?
is it close or very big difference?
I do like your reviews, you speak very clearly and concisely.
Hey Waj, what are the internet connection speeds (dl/up) on the setup tested?
what kind of tv you have?
great honest impartial video. well done buddy.
I'm a noob to this stuff but can you use two different streaming devices on the same monitor or in my case tv?
Shield controller does have rumble, Android games just don use the feature. Cause when I use the shield controller on my pc it vibrates
Of coarse, this is why you buy your wife a cheap tablet that plays candy crush, and tell her to shut the hell up!
Great and thorough video. Thank you
Can you save the games to a hard drive on the shield or do you always need a connection
Yes you can save
How about you compare to a game running natively on the shield?
Do you need a good GPU when you Stream a game to nvidia Spiels?
You need a GTX660 or higher Nvidia card. That's all.
wrong you mean a gtx 650 or higher
soo if you're streaming games to the sheild why need massive hard drive space ?do you get to download the games from the grid ?
The shield controller does have vibrations I don't know why you say it doesn't
Great review man
Where can I find a Nvidia shield game library
Will it be able to download the ps1 emulator as like the androids, Im sure but is that right?
How much bandwidth gets used while streaming those games?
Chris Sousa
5 Mbps minimum for 720p and 20 Mbps at lowest compression.
20 Mbps minimum for 1080p and 50 Mbps at lowest compression.
Abram Carroll Thanks
I would like to see how the Shield with its PC streaming keeps up with Vita's Remote Play from PS4.
Wait a second this guy sounds kinda like dr. evil. Lol. Especially when he says"octacore chip". =)
Which equipment plays the best MKV files from any player you tested before ?
What sort of wireless connection is suggested?
you playing mw2 in minute 2:12 how?
Specs of both????????????????????
What TV is that?
can anyone tell me what's the song that starts at 9:48 min ?
Really nice video but i have a question. I have a 30mbps connection and I also love in Greece . So can I stream from my pic at 1080p 60fps without any problems right????
The micro USB is for connections to connect to a laptop, for ADB, or for file transfer.
Is this its own console or is it just an add-on for a PC.
Do u need Internet connection for the downloaded nividia shield game
7:01 most of the games on thier store are NOT android games you can find on your smart phone but they are games that nvidia ported from pc to the nvidia shield and ONLY work on the nvidia shield.
can you directly play pc game on nvidia shield without streaming but by installing on it
Kind of curios on whats the black box lying under the table on left screen at 0.46
you should compare game cost on both system instead and lots of game is free on the nvidia and cost money on the ps4 for same game. does the nvidia shield work with google photos app?
the rumble feature works on the shield controller when connected to a pc
Sorry for the stupid question... but the games in shield, ps3 a like, are free to stream ??
If i can download and run adroid apps on shield... i'm sold.
If Microsoft woke up to themselves and enables local pc game streaming through xbox one they would single handily kill this and the steam box .
it would be a really expensive version of the shield. plus you can do this with a Raspberry Pi which is like 35 bucks. it would be kind of pointless
What game is the FPS with the holographic bullet and grenade icons along the gun?
Thanks!
RuddsReels CoD advanced warfare that's just the campaign though.
(Don't buy CoD it sucks)
In my opinion some of you guys just don't get the idea, i'm amazed and almost sure this will be the future of gaming. No more software piracy or hardware issues and it's just a beginning. i'm so sorry for people with weak internet speed :D
Hey Does the PS4 have youtube, netflix,Google.
Are we talking about playing a game on nvidia shield that is running on a PC in another location and streaming it over the net?
The SHIELD can be used as the different emulators to play older games. Donkey Kong, Mario, Road Rash etc etc.
Also with KODI, all the TV series and movies are at your fingertips.
can i download games from the internet with the nvidia shield?
And can I use a different controller connected with usb ?
can i connect my dualshock 4 on the shield tv?
What's the fps game at 9 mins?
Can anybody list the titles of the games that were shown?
Can you do a Nvidia Shield vs Alienware Alpha. I think that would be a good comparison and there isn't one online.
