This man tried his best to do good for his people and country during his lifetime.
Do not judge unless you've walked 10 miles in his shoes. Oh, by the way he shares my
birthdate 7/23, of course not the same year, but wisdom comes in interesting packages
sometimes, eh? Just some food for thought. Keep peace alive and pray!!!

Finally, in this fawning film/video they finally mention class: the overwhelming make up of Ethiopia is agriculture, and the system was horrific: feudal, the enslaving system that capitalism overthrew. Like the man says near the end: Haile Selassie/Ras Tefari was a landowner, a big one, a rich one, and he could care less how the huge majority of the nation were ground up year after year slaving for his fellow big landowners. Shame on the avarice and cold hearts in the aristocracy.

enemies were there even then, from 1-2.39 in what the man said, he should have said the name of the evil person who was telling them not to accept the proposal...... i am sure that minster was paid by ethiopian enemies.

@Abasss23 Have you read His Majesty's autobiography? Do you know the position of a slave during those times of Ethiopia? They had more entitlement than how you would compare it to old american slavery. His Majesty exercised many rights for the slaves through the newly established constitution and he was slowly transitioning from those old ways and giving those slaves righteous entitlement for when slavery would be abolished.Do not put a bad taste in His Majesty's title and explain the truth!

The emperor was rotten feudal king ,absolute monarch, he had
Constitution stated " sky can't ploughed the king can't be accused ".

@Abasss23 I don't know where you're getting this information from but before you blindly take someone's biased words (slave or not) you should do some research. The book is not a biography, meaning someone else wrote it, it is an AUTObiography meaning He Himself wrote it. And if you have not taken any time to even take a glimpse at it and cannot discuss it in a constructive light and all you're depending on is your pride as an Ethiopian and other people's heresay opinions, that is ignorance.

@iKNOKMUSIC Fist of all, his biography was written to make that old crow look good. I am Ethiopian I have spoke to people who were slaves and were subjugated to harsh rules. This man is a murderer and a thief to many Ethiopians including me.

@happlyever1 listen I am Ethiopian myself and I know for a fact he use to own slaves. In fact he designated Oromo people as slaves, they were call "Galla".
