Maine Mendoza is one of the rare examples of showbiz characters outgrowing their branding for the better. She may have started as yayadub but nobody calls her yayadub anymore, everybody now calls her Maine Mendoza which is again super rare kasi many people (pabebe girls etc.) get stuck with their showbiz personas.
I was just a grade 10 student when I started supporting Maine, it was the kalyeserye era. Mas lumala yung admiration ko sa kanya nung naglabas siya ng open letter, although, medyo it's disappointing sa fans pero I admired her for being true 💗

(pero naging sila nga ba? di naman nagsisinungaling ung mga nakita at naramdam ko sa kania noon) pero reality strikes...basta happy ako na masaya si maine kay arjo now...fan din ako ni arjo. magaling syang artista at mukhang mabuting bata at galing sa mabuting pamilya. wish ko ang happiness and fulfillment nilang tatlo: alden, maine and arjo san man sila dalhin ng buhay at panahon...at dun sa mga aldub fans na "delusional"- sana irespeto nyo ang private lives nila. hindi na normal ung mga pag iisip nung iba at naniniwala sa sarili nilang reality. nakaawa kayo. kung talagang mahal nyo si maine, please let her choose her own happiness.

AlDub has been a huge part of my life. But we as fans need to accept that they are taking the path that we didn't expect them to take when we were supporting them 7 years ago. As a fan, I am glad that Maine has found Arjo, who makes her happy and who truly loves her, especially, his family loves Maine and understands her. And to be honest, theres a part of me today that became happy when I heard that Maine and Alden stayed friends. Be happy, Alden and Maine. Be happy Maine and Arjo. Also, be happy AlDub fans that our favourite loveteam from 7 years ago has a good career today. Lets continue to support them, as friends and as an individual who also wants to make their fans happy, as well as giving their fans a words not to assume and hope for them anymore.
