Regardless if you trade and get a Herb Jones or start Grimes you have to have Klay come off the bench for a younger wing. He can cook against second team and some games he still might close. When he was younger Andre Igueda and older vets sacrificed so they could win a chip. It's his turn to set the example.
No need to trade anyone now. If we played as usual, our system will highly rely on star players keep playing ISO or create by themselves, when we have no complex screens and off-ball cutting that will overburden our players. The solution is doing some adjustments for the system, and try more tactics and clarify the everyone’s position.
Scoring is not an issue but Kleber needs to be atleast a threat when he's out there. I like Hardy but he's too streaky. We have to provide a team some value so I can see us giving up Grimes in a package to bring in someone. But only those 3. No gafford, No PJ, no Naji
Lively is made out of glass, when he is out we are back to starting freaking Powell if we trade Gaff.

The Landlord trade rumors are the lamest. It’s illogical because Lively sucks at availability and stays in foul trouble. All that lie about Gafford being traded does is gives these dudes something to lie about. Coincidentally Herb Jones has a torn labrum so let’s all have fun watching these dudes shift their lies about Gafford being traded.
Seriously, I'm tired of hearing this crap. We are not trading Gafford, with Lively's injury history. And Herb Jones probably isn't coming back this season. How is this still being discussed??
I’d be willing to let go of the Landlord if we could land Herb Jones from the Pelicans and Kessler from Utah. That would be a win-win situation! Nico could get creative and pull this off in a three-team deal involving the Mavs, Pelicans, and Jazz.
Mavs need to match incoming salary almost exactly because of 1st apron hardcap. Collins and Sexton = 45M Hardy, Kleber, Powell, OMax = 20M Still missing 25M. We cannot make such trades without including two of Gafford/PJ/Grimes/Naji/Klay which is a pass for me.
He chose to leave so it’s on him, all because he wouldn’t have a starting spot, and to be honest I think he’s someone that would be much better coming off the bench than starting he can only defend and drive to the basket but he can’t shoot. Miss his defense tho
Simmons is an expiring contract. I think they let him walk. And we can offer him the MLE. Since we are $520k under the first apron. We can't go into the first Apron to pick him up off of waivers since his contract is currently above a vet minimum.
Remember when we nearly had Mattise thybulle and people were acting like we didn’t need him?like it was “just another move”?Now that I think about it If that went through Im sure this team would be just fine, because it would have been a 3 year contract
@@Mr.Thomas_Anderson Klay nowadays a rhythm shooter - no longer automatic - to be effective - they need to give him more touches to be more productive. They sorely miss DJJ and even the hustle and quickness of JGreen
Klay caused some problems when he became the number 1 priority to sign on the team. Once Djj left that created a problem with lack of perimeter defense. Now they might have to trade Gafford for a player like Djj which leaves them without a back up center, then they’ll need to get a back up center… they’ll continue to need to trade away good young players to fill holes. It’s just been a domino effect. Klay joined and now they have more problems than he’s worth. But they will never trade Klay. He’s a mav for the next 3 seasons. They respect him too much.
@@ClanDWoolzeven Nico knows they need another wing defender like Derick jones… that’s why they’re looking at Herb Jones. An athletic defender with a big wing span. The defenders on the team do not play perimeter defense well. If you disagree you should talk to Nico because this is what he’s looking for in the trade market currently. Also hope Klay starts to show up during the playoffs…. If they even make it.
I may be the minority here, but I'd rather trade Lively than Gafford. Big Gaff and Lively have somewhat similar skillsets, and Lively's ceiling is seen as higher. You could easily get a better package back if you traded Lively than if you traded Gaff. Herb Jones aint coming to Dallas for Gafford & a 2nd... just not happening. I can't see you getting any better by trading Gafford, but maybe a losing team will send a legit player or a pair of sure enough rotation players back for young players Lively & Hardy then salary filler like Kleber. With that being said, I'm not sure you should trade Lively either. Gaff & Lively could anchor your center position for the next 8 years. Another thing, the only reason Dallas has played so poorly of late is because they're riddled with injuries. If they miss the playoffs, the injuries clear up before next season, the 2025 draft is DEEP, possibly get a rotation rookie that puts them over the edge & make a deep run that next year. The only "old" player is Klay.
The only thing I think they should get rid is kleber, hardy and some other low names and draft. Other than that no, dont touch the existing core. It will be a disaster.
@ just want to fix the defense. draymond green is the best out there playing small ball. very good perimeter defender, can guard post up against bigs. he's not a shot blocker but can read plays and knows where to position himself under the rim. overall good at anchoring the defense and a good communicator. I just want someone out there with better IQ on defense. And oh, a good playmaker too, can unlock both kyrie and klay.
Bro, Larry Nance Jr suffering from injuries, and do you understand how tough and difficult that the #PF we need? Definitely like Hart48 with insane body strength and cannot get injured easily, besides the #PF need height and speed to against 5-out, and even protect rim if CENTER was switched out. Larry Nance JR. definitely is a skillful player, but I think he cannot be the perfect solution as #PF backup due to his health condition.
Do not touch the Landlord!

@antykwanty then Collins only
Derrick jones completed the defensive system on this team. Is there any way they can get him back?
Why would LA give him
Up look at their record same as Mavs basically

No chance. Letting him go was a big mistake, short and long term
What if the Nets buy out Simmons? Any interest in him?
Simmons is an expiring contract. I think they let him walk. And we can offer him the MLE. Since we are $520k under the first apron. We can't go into the first Apron to pick him up off of waivers since his contract is currently above a vet minimum.
@BigJay4real So no way we could pick him up this season even if the Nets and Simmons agree to a buy out?
You wanna have another Kleber out there on offense? Absolutely not.
@@RandomlyRandom2025 not concerned about his offense it's all the other things he does. I think it's a good fit for Simmons and the Mavs.

Mavs org - dumb - they’ll trade and then miss the guy - cycle of dumbness once again. Nico’s brilliance will someday backfire
It already has, everyone said Klay was a great move. Lost two great defenders for him

I don't believe we make a trade at all. No reason we make one.
Only if u keep all the cores and the one who got traded are maxi, hardy , omax and other fringe players
Man.. Hardy, Powell, Exum and Luka all ruled out already. Klay, Lively, Naji and Grimes all questionable for tomorrow night..
This is ridiculous

Get Deni Avdija from Portland for (2) 1st round picks and Kleber plus Hardy or Prosper
Get Jamarion sharp back and don't bother breaking up what we.
Don’t trade your picks
What about Jones and Williamson from New Orleans and give up Gafford, Kleber and Thompson
What are the rumors on patrick williams ?
draymond for maxi and gaff
nah bro nah
