I think about how things used to be. There were more people in the neighborhood that I grew up with in the past. Now, they are gone. I think about how family members were closer and around each other even when they didn’t get along. Now, they are away or dead. I think about how my friends and I in high school made plans to become something in a career together. We were close then, not anymore; and it didn’t happen. Now, I dream alone in these ever changing times. Sort of like refusing to bend to the unstoppable marching of time.
When I listen to it, I cut down on my pressure and just do what I have to do because there's no exact time when one changes. You just realise one time that change happened.... I think the song is about having yourself together emotionally and mentally... Knowing that everything will be alright if it isn't alright already.... For there's no particular time.. I also think the lyrics are not right for the sentence "it's an ever changing time." They rather are "Is there ever changing time." Atleast that's what I hear when I listen to the song.
Have y'all seen the movie this song is about? If not, look up "Baby Boom" with Diane Keaton in lead role, from the '80's. It's about unexpected changes when her cousin and her cousin's husband are killed in an accident leaving her as their sole heir..... I won't spoil it if you've not seen it yet.
