In the first 30 seconds you can see Vanthoor using the slower cars to block Kubica at >300kmh. And at the crash event he was doing just the same. It's driving was a lot over the limit of the car.

But Magnussen was really fighting for position. Bmw ignored blue flag , and was fighting anyway he was one lap back . @@mabot2459 - #15 coming back from a track rejoin - the leader was behind with flashing blue to #15 - the leader passed to go 3 wide. - #83 was ahead and holding a straight line while being 3 wide - #15 slightly turned the wheel left when they were 3 wide. He had clear visuals that they are 3 wide. Bmw had all the time and visuals to lift and avoid the accident. If even he held a straight line, most likely there wouldn't have been an accident. It's a 24 hour race, mistakes happen, but #15 didn't do enough to avoid the accident.
Because the Blue flag says that a fast car is coming behind you, not to slow down and let him pass, so I think Kubica had fault because he already al passed the GT3 and could leave space

Except for all the stupid things BMW has done, there is one more thing. At 0:57, he moves a bit to the left just before the contact. When they fight for a tiny gap of a few centimeters, this kind of move may decide whether you go off the track or not. Robert also made a mistake, but mostly because of this guy. He should get a penalty for the next race as well. This is not what we should see in top categories especially when you are lapped . This looks more like go-karting.

for those who don't know the full rule : when u get a blue flag, u have 2 sectors to give up that position. even through Dries got the blue flag he technically did not have to let Kubiva go at that point. u can argue Dries ignores the blue flag but he technically did not do a thing wrong, everyone does it

Vanthoor would have to move to the left or he would be in the barriers before the turn. Kubica left him no space at all. Vanthoor had half a meter of space total. What many of you don't know, blue flag is NOT a command flag, it is strictly informational. I know you guys are very pro Kubica because you are mostly Polish, but it was clear who caused the collision, and the issued penalty was unfortunately justified. Just bad luck for both drivers, but Kubica could have easily avoided this by moving half a meter to the left and leaving Vanthoor some space for the corner.

The facts: Dries made indeed a mistake at the entry of the second chicane, trying not to be lapped because then you can forget about it with the current WEC rules. Surely he should give the place to Robert once he has been informed by the race director or get then a penalty. However Robert should simply receive a black flag because his action is totally outrageous. So dangerous at that speed downhill to Mulsanne corner. You cannot react like this a these speeds. Some gentlemen driver have already been banned for less, while we are talking about a Platinum driver acting so stupidly... Besides the facts: crazy to think Robert has been driving a few years with WRT and here he is simply throwing a former teammate into the barriers...
I understand your point of view, but I don't think Robert did it of his own free will, from his on board he doesn't veer to the right but maintains the diagonal of overtaking and I would add that the BMW has half a meter to the right to move.
If no one respected the blue flags, no LeMans24 race would make sense. See what happened on the last lap before the accident. If every driver drove like Vantoor, it would not be possible to race in as many as three categories in one race.
He was being lapped by the leader of the race, has BIG blue screen flushing at him. Yet he was racing Robert, like he was in the lead. Clearly you can see Robert being patient with him. If no one respected the blue flags, no LeMans24 race would make sense. See what happened on the last lap before the accident. If every driver drove like Vantoor, it would not be possible to race in as many as three categories in one race.
He was being lapped by the leader of the race, has BIG blue screen flushing at him. Yet he was racing Robert, like he was in the lead. Clearly you can see Robert being patient with him. You can see how he moves his car to box Robert in to slower GT cars. I don’t believe for second Robert intentionally wanted to hit him. He is so focused on trying to keep Robert behind, cuts the track 🤩 what a genius! No respect for leader from BMW driver. He took him self out of the race and is only one to blame in my book.
The video could have started 30sec eaelyer so you could see Vanthoor breaking himself infront of Kubica into the first chicane.

If you look closely, vanthoor tried to ram kubica, as he turned to the left while they were 3 wide, but took him self out, he should be disqualified for the next race
BMW driver had blue flag, should have moved out of the way. Wow, blue flag means LET LEADERS GO BY. WTH?
