World First APES BWL: Maitoz POV - WoW Classic, Blackwing Lair

APES, lead by Maitoz, were eager to be the first guild to defeat the final boss Nefarian. However, in true Blizzard style, the raid launch was filled with bugs and drama.
Story:
APES decided to start the raid via the Upper Blackrock Spire portal because of the regular teleporting orb being too overrun with Horde, lag, and World PVP (being on the largest server, Gehennas-EU). However at the midnight raid launch, APES couldn't zone into the instance (because Blizzard), while the players using the orb could. It took APES 7 minutes to finally get into the raid.
Amongst all this instance and raid confusion, Zulp got ported to Stormwind causing APES to start with 39/40 members while he flew back to Blackrock Mountain.
APES were now 7 minutes behind the guilds Progress and Calamity, who had been practicing extensively on private servers for the past week in preparation. Being this far behind, Maitoz had to play extremely risky and off the cuff in an attempt to catch up to the other guilds. This is what made the stream super exciting and Maitoz managed to lead APES to the final boss and kill it just seconds after the other two guilds.
They even suffered a bug where at the final boss Nefarian, the dragon flew off and back again before landing causing even more time wastage.

Guy sounds insufferable, it's a shame that such a talented group of people have to deal with that. Imagine what they'd accomplish with a functional human at the helm.

maybe video is on another timeline
Apes decided to enter BWL through the entrance inside of UBRS but because blizzard didn't activate this entrance until like 6 minutes after the other entrance went live, they started 6 minutes after everyone that went the other route and STILL only lost by seconds.
IMO this means they should be given the world first
The funny thing is, if Maitoz would've turned the boss during rogue class call they maybe would've won
@@SwarlsBarkley If Rogues didn't suck in the supression room, if the tanks wore their cloaks, it's a million small things that could've been improved but moving the boss when no one was sure how it would move compared to pservers isn't one of them.

My worst run of any raid took over 3 hours, close to 4 at times(Not in classic but in private servers. Rarely as RL mostly as LM) but even my worst run wasn't this.... Boring? Soulless?.... Empty, yes. Empty. There's no fun from listening friends ramble on about an embarrassing moment of their lives. There's no giggling from the dude that's high all the time because someone said the word, "BackShot" semi-quitely in voice chat. Not even a random animal noise in the background from someone that would become the "raid mascot" of that raid.
I mean I get the aesthetics of finishing a raid super fast but if I'm not having fun playing a game, especially with people I consider *friends* then what point is there for me to play that game?

Progress got world first
24 second delay due to Nefarian bugging out and going back out into the air. Apes got robbed here.
