Rocky is intense, dark, emotional, psychological, brutal. No gangster film in our industry is made with this much authenticity. It stands out unique from all. Performance of actors are top notch. There is one "old boy" style fight scene which impressed me a lot. I'm sure it will never disappoint you if you're are fan of gangster films. This movie needs to be praised and preserved. So Guys please go watch this masterpiece in theaters
@@pawaniyer sorry .. you check the dates.. his review was much before calendar issues. So my opinion is based on his movie review and the way he criticized. You can still find my comment in that review where I said the same. Neither me or this guy are speaking in terms of political here.
Sadly they did a bad release planning. Tamil cinema will never understand which film deserves an OTT release and which ones are for theatres. An OTT release would have been proper, since this has not released in any other states apart from tamilnadu and I heard tat its not released in many places in TN itself.
Bro i think the core idea of specifically using anamorphic lens for shooting the film majorly is for the big screen experience. Any way they'll definitely release it in OTT I guess late but the purpose is to satisfy the big screen viewing, think the director was very sure for which audience and platform he was targetting
Theatre experience is must for this film . people will regret for missing to watch in theatres.cinematography And stunt sequence will be enjoyed better with theatres
Arun Matheshwaran reminds me of Gasper Noe. Unapologetic and very violent. And also holds his shots for a long time like Noe does. Except that Arun doesn't have that Noe-sque cinematography.
This is the most violent film in Indian film history but yet the most beautifully made masterpiece. It's like watching poetry in motion, master-class in film making
Arun matheswaran's brilliance is exposed in the way he narrates the story. Even though it's cutting back and forth, the past and the present leaves an imprint and a key to open the future. Life takes its own time. To bring a life to earth, it takes time. Like that the part one of the movie took its own time to give birth to the characters. Death happens suddenly and is uncertain. Like that the part 5 ends very early and gives the perfect ending with reference to death/mortal nature of human beings.
All superb movies released together Writer, Rocky, 83thefilm If you plan for next week to watch these you won't find these movies in many screens. So sad
Wow 🤩 what a review? You know what BR , when you were talking about the movie I was able to visualise the making, scenes, character arc, you are so good in analysing and adoring a movie.
Awesome review spot on Baddy!!!!! Please watch this movie, it is an experience. You. have hit all the angles of the movie and the technicians brilliance, A tribute to just watch it for these folks who have made the movie and acted in it.
Loved the film sir, however do u think writing had moral superiority?? (As in like how v. Maaran sir says)..Ex: seedless fruit scene...albeit such a well written film rocky had faced his personal consequences of losing his family and friends one by one (also mani maaran), would have been gud if the char had faced the social consequences too.!
+ film companion south BR pointed out the philosophical term "existentialism" and how it has not been carried out through out the film properly through symbolism and imagery representation !!!
I both liked and disliked the movie! Never thought ill have a split opinion on the movie! Movie deserves standing ovation for cinematography, sound design, direction and bgm ofcourse... thorough theatre experience! But the story and climax disappointed me very much! Especially the way story went in second half was more like a copy-paste with some minor tweaking from another movie( I don't want to spoil it here 😁) not sure who copied the idea from whom, but after all that buildup nd a terrific interval block, it was a let down for me
This film is extremely overrated.Barring few good moments there's nothing much to ponder about with respect to story or the characters. The director just to cover up a wafer thin plotline has infused gimmicks like non linearity and black and white tone. The violence even though it's good adds nothing to the story or the proceedings.. And the supposedly great climax twist is just meh.. Probably the other good releases of this week writer and 83 deserve more attention than this film.
Very superficial movie. Borrows heavily from Tarantino and John Wick. Climax inspired by Kaidhi. Nothing new. Dont gaga mr mottai over BS like this. Get money from vijay and do positive reviews like bigil.

Whenever BR's review exceeds 4mins it means the movie is interesting.
Factu 😀
I changed my perception post his Jai bhim review.. he is a biased reviewer .. 🤷♂️🙄
So true. But this time in case of blood money he has done the opposite. Good review in less than 4 mins

Climax's long shot showing both Vasanth and Bharathiraja was iconic at the end they both remain after all ravages
All we need now is a ‘Deep Focus’ episode with Arun Maatheswaran

Not at all. This film definitely needs a theater watch. The whole framing is so good to watch in a big screen.

And now the director is working with Dhanush!
