I initially watched and read the 5RR and Jill Baker (Author) take of history of Rhodesia, and of course Cecil John Rhodes, and the whole Carving of Africa by the Europeans. Watching the movie puts it all together, the characters in the history now makes sense. Rhodes was a mad psycho genius I get it, the Ndebeles (splinter from Zulus) were savages on the Mashonas. Interesting history on screen despite the hate and the view of the whiteman that africa needed saving from its barbarism. Then again, history from the romans conquering england, fighting the barbarians / germanic etc, its had been a case of strong, entitled savagery wins.
Today, the Shonas claim the Brits took their land, yet, the Zulus took their land and before than who took the land. Fascinating and rather classical of humanity to always acuse those before of wrongs but not see their own right!.
Very insteresting viewing, I highly recommend it for historical purposes.

Was it really that easy to persuade Barney Bernato to join with DeBeers by offering him membership to the Kimberley Club? Cecil Rhodes was a genius either way.

Shaw didn't read the next line. She said, "Don't shout at me". He hadn't.

Even the acting was done by Zulus in Zulu. It appears that we the Ndebele have fallen bellow the point we were and where we were to become. An attempt at establishing friendship and trade with England went so disastrously wrong. Now the struggle is to recover.
This is also an example of the importance of education and literacy.

@@thabomagwaliba2008 It's Latin. Unlike Rhodes, Barney Barnato wasn't classically educated. He came from the Jewish quarter of Whitechapel in London and spent much of his youth in the music hall and prizefighting. He couldn't tell Greek from Latin or any other language except Hebrew. Rhodes even published several insulting articles about Barney's basic education in his newspapers.
