      to be fair - with the exception of the outer ones - it was kinda confusing so remember wich Teleporter takes you where

    The lack of zipline boost is so damn punishing early game. A death early is like a 1k soul loss now

      Honestly? Good. It wasn't worth it to go for risky kills before because the guy you killed 3 times would usually end up with almost just as many souls as you. It skews the risk reward heavily, which I think makes the game a lot more interesting.

      I personally enjoy the change, as I never play super agro, just capitalize on other's mistakes or them staying too long, which are now more punishing

      @@Dozer456123 It also rewards new players for making a good play in lane and getting a kill and provides positive reinforcement for their actions. It could be a little discouraging before when poking your enemy back to base, killing them once or twice, only for the lane to end in a draw because they barely fell behind and got a gank rotation before you.

    6:15 I don’t think it’s a good idea to continuously stack djin unless you are in solo bc your level 1 upgrade for the passive is so strong 80 percent slow down is really good and constantly hitting 3 and refreshing the djin to constantly apply the movement slow is insane for fighting with a lane partner. Also to what you were talking about with his ult, channeling to a teammate with the urn is broken asf you basically instantly claim urn with him

    big annoyance to note against mirage: his djinn mark will knock you off the zipline and cause the hyperline damage, and it will break healing rite so you need to wait a real long time to heal against him.

      The problem is meta stiffles creativity and self thought. Too many rely on it basically being a how to win book, when really it is one person's view of how to win.
      Meta can easily make a person easier to beat as they cannot get outside the box thinking. Meta then becomes a crutch that can be kicked out from under you.

    Slowing hex owns mirage btw. They expect to be able to tornado in/out and can't do it while hexed. Extremely effective for me so far in my games

    Really not a fan of the zipline cd change as losing lanes feels so much worse now. Imo they should change the start of the game-cooldown to something lower like 60 seconds instead of the full 5 mins.

      people always rage at the start of the game when they're losing lane especially now without realizing that winning the lane doesn't mean anything and doesn't give you an advantage unless the team is throwing and they let you get all 4 guardians for the flex slot.
      when you start jungling, ganking and team fighting you could accidentally hit a person with 6-7k souls from winning the lane hard and the assist or kill will give you so many souls that by the time they come back you're actually gonna have more than them no matter what unless you go afk in midgame.
      i've had plenty of games where my lane opponent was 0-3 or 0-4 so i could farm creeps and the 2 minute jungle freely, and then they manage to kill me ONCE and they have more souls than me.

      First blood reduces zipline CD to the team whose team mate was killed. That should fix the problem and also give a small but negligible buff to the losing team.

      Yeah. I liked the boost forgiveness because it helped encourage safer play and staying in the game. Since the change I’ve seen a lot more players type gg and quit immediately after losing lane or even just dying once. We were supposed to be the elevated moba, now we’re back to the usual.

    I dont like the zipline boost change. I had a game where I played as pocket against mo in lane. I ult'd him so he had to go back to spawn. Before he came back I already took his guardian. The guardian was at full hp. That was so unfair lol

    this character is just broken af. and they gave this guy most broken cc skill that isn't ultimate. which makes him beast in close combat as well

      I mean even as a dota player I don't feel like mirage is inline with other heroes. His tornado is incredibly strong. It's like a wraith teleport in every way (cooldown, evasion, root, damage) except you can't aim up.
      His djinns mark feels under tuned. For an ability that requires consistently stacking shots over a long duration, 10+ seconds, the payoff isn't that great. Compare that to any other damaging ability.

      He only has a 2 second window to hit you again and increase the multiplier. If you learn how long it takes in between increasing stacks, you can just not peak at specific times

      Games that appear on the front page, there's always hidden mmr for more balanced matchmaking. Look at players like Sunset, MikaelS or Xaniya.

      You can just tell if you are experienced in gaming based on how well everyone is performing. I don't need to be a counter strike global elite to know if a lobby is highly skilled.
      If I see coordinated plays, on-time rotation, excellent movement, proper positioning, good controls then I can guess it's high mmr.
      Likewise I can tell when I'm in a shit mmr when I'm getting ganked and wraith is farming jungle 20 feet away and just ignores it

    Honestly, this game has so many work arounds for everything that trying to say, "you need this," is too strict of thinking. I can avoid shots and use the healer creep to get back pretty fast early. Someone else might want just regen, someone else might want a true heal and another goes lifesteal. Its so open that needing to stick to one build is dooming one to fail when someone counters that idea.

    I like the new map changes, fighting around the urn on that upper level near the jungle farm was so cramped it almost always hindered plays because everyone was just bumping into walls.

    6:20 ngl, the djinns mark is not that dangerous. It did get a slight buff already but still not a huge part of his damage.
    And if you play him, don't farm by applying stacks to multiple jungles. Just use scarabs on them, they die quickly

    Mirage tip. His 1 is fucking busted as all hell. It's an immunity dash that roots gives you bullet shield after you come out. And it cleanses.....

      At first I didn't want to call it busted, because I'm experienced enough to know that's always the gut reaction to new heroes, and it's not fair because usually people simply haven't had time to adapt and respond to it.
      However, yeah, it's kind of busted. The only difference between that and wraith teleport is you can't aim up. But for that trade off you get evasion, root, damage, low cooldown, and I don't recall but I believe it did cleanse debuffs too?
      It's really frustrating to play against

      No if you play with him just using the 1 a few time in fights you yourself can feel that its busted lmao. It should cleanse i dont think its intended.     Melee Charge is essential on mirage. HIs low magazine size benefits from the free ammo and he gets a near guaranteed melee with his tornado. This a must have item.
    also as mirage you can pop your passive early on a hero you want to harass early when your multiplier damage is pretty weak. every time a multiplier ticks on an enemy they gets an EIGHTY PERCENT SLOW applied to them. So you can chain the multiplier and pop it and then reapply it again to slow someone down to a crawl if you need to close the gap or just get some more gun harass on them.

      I think Quicksilver Reload on 3 is better. He doesn't really have any good Spirit items in the early game, so you always have the slot available, whereas there are a ton of good options in the weapon slots that Melee Charge is competing with. Plus, you would rather keep distance as Mirage, so being able to instantly reload from any distance is much more versatile than having to heavy melee to reload.

      @@DjNaste get both and replace quicksilver later because he actually has a lot of spirit slots competing for his attention. I feel if you build him full spirit there isn't a ton of early weapon slots you need. He doesn't scale with fire rate and his passive has a built in slow so most the oranges I normally build are out. I see sharpshooter on him a bunch but honestly you can skip that.
      the EXTRA bullets you get from melee charge is amazing if you are in the middle of a fight and cant manage to get your entire clip off before you have to pop quicksilver reload. also quicksilver reload has an internal cooldown and I find that unreliable to rely on.
      Early to midgame full melee build is cheap (without lifestrike every melee item is 2250 in total) and will net you free kills and objectives. Lategame though you can definitely replace them with more gun focused items.
      Where is this myth that mirage wants to be far and away from enemies? Maybe when farming and when in 6v6 teamfights but he has 2 abilities that put him RIGHT UP IN THERE take advantage of that

      @@erinzaharris2162 Nah I have to disagree with almost everything you said. I don't think his spirit scales well at all, and that he is 100% stronger if you build around his gun. You will get plenty of inherent value from spirit damage without investing into it. Melee Charge also has an internal cooldown, not just Quicksilver, so that point is kind of moot. I also don't see why you would ever "need" to pop Quicksilver early, whereas I can see plenty of situations where you would actively want to avoid heavy melee. What if you get parried? You can farm just fine early on building into gun without the melee items.

    everyone seems to be mad about the zip lines but i gotta say you used to get a kill and have one of two options;
    1. don’t buy, clear the wave maximising your soul lead and probably die to the person speed boosting back with an item
    2. back out, let your minions kill theirs and let them farm their whole wave while you heal, diminishing you lead and or giving them a lead.
    reality is that people need to learn to play safer and sometimes you’re gonna be in lanes that are tough.

    I really like this style of video, insights is a good way of putting it. I hate videos that are like "This is the new meta and THIS hero is BROKEN and this hero is TRASH now" and it just feels super childlike. This style is perfect for thinking about how we should adapt playstyles.

    With the change to tp to be faster and the middle lanes being further from yellow and purple, past the 10 minute mark yellow and purple are the best lanes to peel for each other by a landslide

    I love the bigger map. The old map just felt so small. But I do feel like movement speed is king in this game, so I really think they should honestly build in some sort of cap on movement speed, sprint speed and stamina. I have 75 hours in the game and I have not used a teleporter even once.

      Teleporter is very useful, it's a free escape for heroes like Pocket, and also a great way to get behind enemies, since it basically teleports you behind the frontline.

    They definitely need to make some changes to make the game less snowbally. This was already a problem in a lot of games imo and like others said the zipline change made thos even worse. Dying or taking 1 bad trade in the first 1-3 waves can be so brutal. If you die on second wave you can literally return to find you are 476 souls vs like 1.7k. Now theyre 3 items up, pressuring you under tower, soon your tower falls and you cant even buy items without going to secret shop.

      @@Tjthemedic Yes, and there's nothing wrong with that. If you outplayed your opponent and gained an advantage that should matter. If a team is winning every lane and encounter then the odds of winning should drastically skew in their direction. These types of games feel bad when there's no positive reinforcement for doing well and all games hit predictable mid game stalemates.

    Yeah, zipline on CD from start is bad. It was not like the cooldown was forgiving enough for you to abuse it, and it seems pretty bad for some matchups.
    You should be punished by using zipline badly, not just by using it

      nah, it's a great change, because it makes the quality of your lane play more consequential. being able to die in lane very early and be back in ten seconds or so de-emphasizes the reward one should get for securing a gank.

      For a very short time yes, but it will only cause them to miss 1-2 ticks of the damage. If they take even 1 tick before the tornado, they will still take increased weapon damage, which is what you really want as the Mirage player. I hope you're asking because you are a fellow cultured Alchemical Fire enjoyer who would love to double Tornado people in that beautiful purple circle. In short, it's still pretty good on Mirage. I have it in my build.

    Only trash cans will complain about the zipline change. People who just ape every trade without thinking for 3 minutes and getting a free reset are punished now. Learn to use sight lines, cooldowns, hero matchups and regen items maybe?
    Laning aspect SHOULD have a big impact on this game. If you are skilled at laning, you should be rewarded with being able to snowball into the mid game and team fighting. That’s how this genre works.

      I agree in part but sometimes it's not about skill and you just get counter picked. Before a truly skilled player would know how to keep his lead and express it. But a good player with a losing lane would still be able to bounce back and have an impact, now this is harder. You can win harder but also lose harder

      @@broek6075 losing lane gracefully is 100% a form of skill expression. walking out of lane 0-0 but down 1k souls is much different than 0-6 down 2k souls.

    Sorry, but I actually hate this patch. There is so much toxicity in this game now because losing a lane results in such a large soul difference. The worst part is that the solo queue players are always in the solo lanes where the matchups are extremely punishing, and the grouped players in the mid lanes will use it as an excuse to dogpile on the solo players and flame them. The game got so much worse it's unreal.

      To mee the game feels a lot more static, which is not nice. Earlier you saw a lot more ganks, lane swaps, people roaming. Now you are stuck on your land for the first 10 min and there is nothing you can do about it.

    To prevent early snowballs and feeling down from the higher cd, I think the zipline CD should be reduced on the losing team who gets first blood'ed
    Its a small but negligible buff (applies to the whole team, but are they all gonna feed just for a shorter cooldown? lmao) that can't be exploited, but can still be used to pick yourself back up in the early stages of the game.

      @@munkaccino Back when I played DOTA 2 I played KOTL, and so I always imagined when buying boots that his horse wears them and it looks really silly in my head.

      The concept of buying boots on every hero no matter their species is really stupidly funny. A wisp trying to wear boots, a pilot wearing boots makes him faster, snake people wearing a giant boot for their stubble.

    Mirage feels like a great hero to destroy oppressive roaming heroes like Haze. The zipline change… I get that it’s supposed to make laning more tense and impactful, but I’m a casual and I really liked how forgiving it felt before to have that one-time boost when you die or need to heal. I play heroes who typically don’t have a lot of fight power early on, and so now those with simple lane plans like Haze, Geist, other high DPS stompers are just even harder to beat in lane. Furthermore, it makes lane feel… well, like it does in every MOBA. It’s extremely common to see assholes type gg and quit when they lose their lane or die or just don’t perform perfectly. These kinds of snowballs breed toxicity and were a big thing I was hoping Deadlock was trying to fix via their design. Really really hope devs listen to feedback and it gets changed back to normal…
    Edit: 2-3 minute starting cooldown is probably a more lenient compromise than a full revert though.

      You just need to buy more sustain items now, I actually am able to stay in the lane even longer than before, because I'm back to buying Healing Rite. Heal on Shot item good buffed too. Seriously there are like 8 different sustain items you can buy, and they all help in some way.

      Yeah I can guarantee that won't happen, that really is the point of the ult. It's perfectly fine for an ultimate ability.

    Mirage ult is useless, because you have no vision of your teammate.
    Usually, you just feed one more hand in a losing battle, of miss your ult and wasting your time.
