can we also acknowledge the lighting crew, cause the effects were really good too. they were able to censor the violence by not showing the actual blow but in the end the effects made the scene more intense
I can't believe this is a high school production of the musical... those guys are professionals! I'm really, REALLY, impressed by what I've just seen...
I actually can. All shows have to go through administration (at least at my school), and you'd be surprised what little research is done on the administration's part in some cases. But also I think more high schools should approve shows like this (if they have the talent avilable of course), so many amazing shows get ruled out for that reason.
That was so intense when Hyde was like, "Bad news from god, Helga." (shivers). Also, did anyone else notice that everyone Hyde murders ends up standing on that walkway thing?
I've shown this to my students for the past 3 years when we read Jekyll & Hyde. "Bad news from God, Helga". Every time they gasp & are in awe of this performance!
All of them have mics, that must be really expensive, and the LED and smart lights? What kinda budget does this schools drama program have? Not to mention the costumes.
When Helga says "have you arrested" i be like... "You know that he can literally kill you at any moment and you decide to do that!? Really Helga." At 7:02 I be like.... "Told you!"
We had this play at my school and I miss it every day. I played a female Stride as well, except me and Spider essentially switched roles (I was still Jekyll's sort of bitter rival, except not with Emma). Dying here was the best part of the entire show for me, our Hyde 'broke' my neck. First time we tried it in front of the choir I heard several gasps even, really wish we could've put the production online.
+Bill Angell Ah, I can't actually make out the titles on my phone screen. TBH though, I have the script, and it actually says what the headlines are supposed to be, so I assumed they used those.
Fun fact:The reason why it's Jack the ripper is because the first stage performance of Jeykll and Hyde happened 2 days before the first Jack the ripper murder. It even went to the point where the actor playing Jeykll/Hyde was accused of being Jack himself.
This is a great performance, one of the best versions of this song I've heard. A couple of things dint make sense. The one that said "I know a way to net him. How ?" and the lady that sang "Sweet death has taken this brave man from us" after Helga died. Sometimes they sing that for the bishop and sometimes it's for Lord Savage which is good because he is really a coward. Helga is the same as Lord Savage in this play but shouldn't they have changed the song for a woman. The woman had a very pretty voice though. could someone tell me the words for her part ? Helga was very pretty and a good actress. So was Lucy.
Excellent! I've been looking around for this version, as we've got the same score for our production. We're doing it a tad faster, but I love this interpretation, well done everyone!
I love this performance, but did anyone else notice that the newspaper boy is holding a paper about the jack the ripper murders and not the Hyde murders?
Impressive! Quite impressive, especially factoring in the inability to have experience in musical theatre due The young years. Not to mention the fact that these exceptionally talented youths have not experienced full maturity of the lungs and organs of speech. Undoubtedly, most if not all of these performers will have esteemed careers in Theatre and Music both.
What is it he says between "...despicable drunken old hag" and "I'll donate this in your memory to charity"? I've seen this number in numerous productions, and I never can understand what he says.
When Hyde said "bad news from god Helga" i gasped at how evil and sarcastic he sounded he's so good I couldn't believe it
Ice Kitty
I know right?! Gregorio (the actor) is an amazing J/H!
Ice Kitty actually he’s bad ;)
Evdokia Sovietova I kinda agree with you the actor has a lisp as I can assume
@@87crowhat54 it's more of an accent, his name is Gregoria Umana.
can we also acknowledge the lighting crew, cause the effects were really good too. they were able to censor the violence by not showing the actual blow but in the end the effects made the scene more intense

Wait, this is a high school production?? /Hot damn, they are crazy talented!!!
Not to mention the production and video quality.
_“Bad news from_ *_God,_* _Helga...”_ HELLO I WOULD LIKE TO REPORT A ROBBERY, THIS LINE STOLE MY BREATH
That was so intense when Hyde was like, "Bad news from god, Helga." (shivers).

Cure Starlight like ghosts
Yep
Or like sins
Their memories standing over everyone and weighing them down with fear.
I've shown this to my students for the past 3 years when we read Jekyll & Hyde. "Bad news from God, Helga". Every time they gasp & are in awe of this performance!
I just love the face that Hyde makes when Lady Savage said "have you arrested" its just "excuse me..?"
Yeah. His expression's awesome.
*visible confusion*
I've probably watched this scene over 25 times so far. Great singing. Especially by the newsboy.
Jimmy Alexander That is Chris Pappas.
My favorite part here is the way he says "Bad news from *God*, Helga."
7:01- A terrifying masterpiece. Bravo!
7:19 Gosh her voice is amazing! The whole cast is amazing!
All of them have mics, that must be really expensive, and the LED and smart lights? What kinda budget does this schools drama program have? Not to mention the costumes.

Yo why is no one talking about the newsboy? Like he was awesome!!! Truly killed it man!!
Preparation for playing Crutchie
I agree. Really got into it near the end.

Finally a version that has the people reading a paper, and love how it's about Jack the Ripper
It's about Edward Hyde. Jack the Ripper killed prostitutes, not political and religious leaders.
hexicsushi Read the newspaper props they're holding.
+Bill Angell Ah, I can't actually make out the titles on my phone screen. TBH though, I have the script, and it actually says what the headlines are supposed to be, so I assumed they used those.
hexicsushi Well, they talk about good old Saucy Jacky
Fun fact:The reason why it's Jack the ripper is because the first stage performance of Jeykll and Hyde happened 2 days before the first Jack the ripper murder.

Whenever I watch this I can't believe this is a highschool production 😍 it's just so flipping good and high quality
I’m inlove with the newsboy
Mind if I show this to my choir teacher to show her that this show can be done at a school level without being obscene?
Missy Minnick I know!
But do this without been obscene, it's like doing Shrek without ogres...or the Lion King without animals...lol
Facundo Castro not necessarily. This was a great performance!
don't forget bring on the men though, good luck getting that one past her/him
@@mranderson9553I think high school productions tend to replace it with “Good and Evil”, which has much less suggestive lyrics 😅
If this high school this is amazing. If not, it is still amazing. Great performance regardless of whomever was involved. Thanks for the show.
Thanks, Kelly. You are correct. The King's Academy is a National Blue Ribbon school and these actors and actresses are high school students.

The best ensemble I've ever seen 😍 and heard

I love this performance, but did anyone else notice that the newspaper boy is holding a paper about the jack the ripper murders and not the Hyde murders?
Perhaps in this universe the Whitechapel killings never happened, and the Jack the Ripper moniker was attributed to Edward Hyde?
Mason Blanco maybe it was just easier to print off them than making their own
Some say that the murders were inspired by J&H/ they're connected
9:20 I was not expecting that key change. This is awesome!
Can we take a second to talk about and appreciate the cinematography/camerawork and editing!
Can we talk about the newsboy? Stunning vocals. I may be late to seeing this, but everything in this scene is amazing.
In the words of Michael,
“This is way too good for a school play!!!”
High School Production, you say?
First impression on this was a professional production! Impressive, truly!
This song is so good and. Catchy I’m probably going to end up whisper singing “murder, murder”
"Bad news from God, Lord Savage!" Hyde yelled.
Maybe it's not perfect but still top of the students...especially the voice of Hyde
Nah he's not dead, he's just resting!
That what they all say before they check the pulse
I recognize crutchie from your Newsies production... playing a newsboy again 😂
Very impressive!
This is a good show
This is amazing for real
Perfect...😭😭😭😭😭
This is really good
I will love him to pieces
How... The hell... Is this a high school production
Impressive! Quite impressive, especially factoring in the inability to have experience in musical theatre due The young years. Rachel Wallace Doak "I am sure you left everything to yourself to descend unto Hades ".
Damn. For High School students, that's really good.
Gregorio umana I will live him to pieces
At 4.02 I can hear a real dark laugh
From a certain lighting, Jekyll looks like a young Henry Cavil.
what is the guy's accent that plays Hyde?
colombian??? i think
the script is written at the back of the newspaper
If that's a script they must be really good at reading the notes, their part, and acting at the same time
7:00
Apparently TKA is where Broadway stars are born, among other professions I'm sure.
"Seen with his daughter a moment prior to slaughter"
*Where'd she go? is she dead? no one knows*
The newsboy somehow really reminds me of Aiden Gallagher
Is that Graham Popadic playing Bisset?
Sir Danvers looks like Sean Astin
confirmed hyde donates to charitys
Benjamin Anderson well I think he donates the bodies to vampiric cults
bad news from god helga heheheheheh
It's none 'o' your BALAAdy business
Where can I find the full musical
Dawn, the full Jekyll & Hyde playlist is here: ruclips.net/p/PLzvdeRjhZpVkwY4CQtZu9SUSXemfcdEKZ . Enjoy!
Why did they pick gayest looking boy they got for the newsboy?
Edit: not that i mind at all
