Olympic. Hi TDG. Nice to find your new Canada Day and Olympic stamp post. I watched it all the way through. Since I recently found your channel I've been going to your earliest posts about when you 1st started the post crossing ones. I've got back to the July 2022 ones and am working my way from there. Have many more to catch up on. Really good stuff! Thanks for doing this. -bob n.
Interesting video with lots of OLYMPIC history and a lovely selection of OLYMPIC stamps. Hope the parcel from Liverpool Stamps arrives soon. As luck would have it, I'm wearing a jumper from the Winter Olympics held in Salt Lake City.
Love all your stamp videos! I was looking through my old, world wide collection, and realized I hardly have any OLYMPICS stamps. I think I will keep my eye out for those at the next stamp show. Thanks
Happy Canada Day. I will be wearing my red and white plus blue in a couple of days. In case you are not aware the hat on the French stamp is a Phrygian Hat which has been around since ancient times and was the symbol of freedom during the French Revolution.
Hi Rob! OLYMPICS in Paris, exciting times! New Zealand also issued Olympic stamps a few days ago. Beauty is in die eye of the beholder, but I do not like them. Thanks for all the interesting info about the Olympics and its stamps.
lucky You .... India issued miniature sheets on Olympic Games twice, but been a long while they haven't. I am hoping to acquire and swap as many Paris Olympics 2024 stamp issues possible. Summer Olympic Games particularly interests me as does with most across the world.
Olympics, I was born in Olympia WA. And I can see the Olympic mountains almost any day, whether conditions permitting. From just about any were from Puget Sound .
When the 1984 Summer OLYMPICS were in Los Angeles, I drove a friend to Pomona where he was attending CalPoly-Pomona.... along the freeway, there were a few signs for turn offs to OLYMPIC events.... my buddy wondered what might happen if we stopped and took one of those signs for a souvenir....? We didn't. Neither one of us had any desire to see what the inside of the LA County Jail... ;-)
Greetings from Goa. While I appreciate such a beautiful post on the "OLYMPICS", I am also personally unhappy. and disgruntled to a certain extent. I was excited, very much ...eager to put a series, like a countdown on my social media - IG etal, but then again with the recent turnaround of events in my personal life things are drastically to change. I have to travel different states, time and again, starting around when the Paris Olympics to begin, and will have no access to much of internet for live streaming etc. I will have minimal internet on my phone, and no unlimited wi-fi like I use at home, as I move temporarily to my other home outside Goa. And might I add, today, World Sports Journalist Day (July 2) has a connection with the Summer Olympics - the most-awaited and celebrated sporting extravaganza globally. To the uninitiated, the International Sports Press Association (AIPS) established World Sports Journalists Day on July 2, commemorating the formation day of AIPS as an organisation in 1994 during the Summer Olympics in Paris.
I can't remember what postcard it was, but I put a $1 stamp on it for you. Scott #5295 so that would make it unique. I even took it to Post Office to mail to make sure that it would work going to Canada with the other stamps to make the total equal international rate. I mailed it on June 11th.

HAPPY CANADA DAY. THE 1st Olympic stamps to be issued were in 25th March 1896. 12 stamps. MNH =9,000 euros and used 1,600 euros.
Yes. Do you have them in your collection?
@@thatdadguy1974 yes but not all the set in used condition.

@@thatdadguy1974 No good luck ?
@@Ronald5871 of course good luck
OLYMPICS I am sure there will be more countries issuing Olympic stamps. Some I know of are Burundi, Djibouti, Guinea, Gabon and Cameroun.
Yes lots of great stamps out there. Good luck
Happy Canada Day, 157 years that makes your country younger than the penny black but older than the modern Olympics games
Very true. Good luck
Olympic Games was held in London 2012 and 1908 and 1948
for the 2012 Olympic Games, India issued a miniature sheet, and then for the Rio edition as well. Nothing since.
Have you ever received your prize in the mail?
