I'm not convinced I did the best job of sharing tips / advice here, so I'll cover individual points in detail in future videos. What was the most interesting point raised, you think I should start with?
How to “see in black and white”. Since you’re ignoring colour, what are you looking for? Could apply that to different kinds of photography, portraits, landscapes, cityscapes, etc.
Hey Simon, I just wanted to drop by and say how much I've been loving your vlogs lately! Your photography and creative vision are truly top-notch. The way you capture moments and tell stories through your lens is incredibly inspiring. Keep up the fantastic work, and congratulations on creating such amazing content! #PhotographyGoals
Hi Simon, Enjoyed that, especially the gallery.. street light shots. Some You Tubers try black and white but turn out to be grey. Why not do video on your B&W post processing. Keep up the very entertaining videos.
Presses pause at 29 seconds.. I'll start this comment by saying I have never been to Dover... as a starting point, as a passing through point etc. :) I am having a catch on stuff today and just opened my you tube to find a notification from your good self. Let's see what you are up to. Dover does not look how I imagined it to be honest, firstly, I think of the docks/harbour whenever it comes up - as I think all that the GB public see on the news is that view. Have to say the water looks a lovely aqua marine colour. Some good points and so well presented. What a great set of images Si.... PS like all good photographers you find ood images in what most of us think are unsuitable locations. Thumbs up from me. PPS I loved the jazz vibe too. atb Al
Al, so good to see you here, it's been a while, hope you're well! The water was lovely that day, the weather was fantastic. Dover can be a really grey and depressing place. Behind the Victorian buildings I show, there can be lines of trucks waiting to get onto the ferries. I've recently discovered that jazz works well for my style of video, so will be using it again. 😊 ATB, cheers!
Yeah, could have done a lot more while I was there if it wasn't for trying to reel off a list of "tips". Need to drop the rants and messing about and take RUclips more seriously I think. OK, DM me your mailing address, you'll get a hat! What colour?
@@SimonBurnCreative We didn’t make it to Café Central. Next time. Did go to Café Landtmann. Good enough for Freud, good enough for us. Went to lots of smaller cafés which are really nice.
I’ve just come across your channel, Simon. Excellent tips on BW photography. Love a chatty ranty video, very honest. I use an Olympus OM1iii, which has built in filters, and yes, I use them. Also leave my LV on monochrome. Nice to know that what I do, you have also suggested.
Hi Simon, I thought your video was great and to the point and I like the pictures. I've just come back from 5 days in a very hot and sunny Yorkshire. I decided to do all the pictures in black and white, have just finished editing the pictures and will be putting them on my RUclips channel later this week when I've finished putting the video together.
GREAT IMAGES! A little brutal on yourself, but a wonderful real life video. I do agree less is more in your kit. It draws out the creator within. Take care! Earl J. 📸
Hi Simon, glad im not the only one who finds Dover a little boring and full of sketchy characters, however you managed to capture the area. I , like you, have never really been to Dover specifically to take images. The castle is probably my favourite spot of the area but never found a good vantage point to capture it from. I like the images of it you captured from the marina area. I have never really gone out to only shoot black and white, perhaps i should !, when i do convert to black and white i use silver effex pro , i always use a red filter, in post, to darken that sky. Ill have to try the yellow now for any people ! Clearly i picked up something from your rants so thanks ! Hope you're well, take care.

I quite like “ranty”, and despite it being Dover, still an interesting set. Plus I still want a hat!! 😁👍🏻

Congratulations you made Dover look nice 😂 Seriously the colour of the sea looked tropical and stunning images at the end.
lol, maybe I should have shot colour photos, the weather was unusually good, there was hardly a ripple in the sea.
lol absolutely LOVED your brutal honesty with a sense of human and sarcasm. F**ing hilarious lol. Very refreshing. Subscribed. Thank you
Thanks, appreciate the feedback! Moving the channel forward, expect more of this. This is the real me. 😊
@@SimonBurnCreative love it 😍
The shots were waaaay better than the rant. Call the Dover Tourist Board!
Hey, what are you watching this rubbish for when you're in Vienna? Get out with that camera! I hear Cafe Central is a good place to hang out.

Hi, thanks for the lovely comments! Internal filters are useful, I'm surprised more companies don't offer that.

Cheers Lee, Dover is great for the cliff walks up near the castle, for sure. Thanks for watching the rant!
I think you did the best of a bad job there Simon. 😆 Sometimes a place can just suck the life out of you.
Cheers mate. The only good thing about Dover in the M&S Food Hall. 😆
I'd sit next to you on a bus to discuss chocolate teapots...
Excellent. You bring the teapot, i'll bring the toffee teacups.
