Always a treat to get a closeup view of Superior complete with sound. In my opinion you always deserve a Captain's Salute for bringing the Boats of Life for us.
I love watching these videos of the mammoth ships coming through the channel and maneuvering. They are large working vessels but still possess such grace in movement and design. Thanks for sharing.
It's fascinating how many little differences there are in the designs of the thousand footers. Differences of bow shape, pilot house design (and in the case of the Stewart J. Cort, pilot house location), and overall length. And then there's the myriad internal customizations, self unloader length, etc. All that aside, those thousand footers are biiiiiigggg ships!
Outstanding Superior video. Just the sound of the water, wind and birds. Loved it.
Thanks! More night footage coming soon. 😉
@ Music to my ears 😍😍😍😍

Yes, there are a lot of variations!
I'm on the southern waterfront. I often watch the ships heading for Puerto Rico on their regular runs. El Farro was one of ours.
That was a real tragedy with the El Faro. 😔 Should’ve never happened.
So peaceful. Thanks
She’s a powerful gentle giant. ❤She’s not a beast 🤗

Fortunately we have two more months until then. Lots of shipping action between now and then! 🙂
Just have to watch reruns....sigh.😐
I’ll still have some “new” videos during the winter months. 🙂
For a comparatively modern ship, she sounded uncannily like the Alpena's steam whistle.
Why did the Edwin Gift back out of the canal
She backed away from the dock and made a pivot to exit through the canal.
