flametal mining with basalt bombs: valheim ashlands

i had previously made some elaborate scaffolds and other contraptions to try to throw stacks of flametal out of my inventory while mining to free up space, but then i realized that the flametal floats, so you may as well use all the time to knock loose as much as you can. then, you can sweep the ground for what you mined.
with the flametal armor's heat resistance, feather cape, and fire res potion, you can touch the lava surface a little bit without dying. picking up the ore isnt easy, because the basalt platforms float a bit too high, but it can be done.
this is on 3x drops, so, if you are playing vanilla, divide by 3.

Whos gonna waste time to sail around the wntire map like 5 times and waste like 4 weeks worth of gameplay jist to do what u can do in a day.. the mans playing for speed and efficiency not cosmetic

​@@jacobmccoy6260 You're wasting a lot of the features the devs put in if you totally disregard cosmetics IMO. Hauling metals (until you get the stone portals) is actually really rewarding in my experience.

I find basalt bombs unrieliable. Maybe it is a xbox port issue but some bombs that I throw at lava do nothing, the platform doesn't show up. Maybe there something I don't understand about its mechanics, but it seem straight forward, you throw a bomb at lava and get a platform to jump on... But not always for me.

i have never seen one fail to deploy. but they do sink a bit below the surface before impacting, so, placement can be a bit awkward.

Apparently there is something wrong, they either don't spawn or float like a meter above lava. I should probably record a clip on my console and report it.

You aren’t crazy. On mine Xbox is the same issues.
