- I did not expect a video of me dicking around with a 20 year old car to get 25,000 views, don't hate on me for it.
There were two bad fuel injectors not showing any symptoms of being bad. One was just totally bad but still sounded like it was working and another just fell apart upon basic inspection.
After replacement worked perfect!!
I know it’s years later but this video may really help me. I’m currently getting a misfire in cylinder 4 even at low speeds. Started off when I was going 80-90 and now at low speed acceleration car shakes like yours. Cleared the code and it stoped shaking for a while.
Does it misfire all the time or only after it has warmed up? Mine is fine until the car goes into open-loop mode (after it has warmed up) then the misfiring starts. If I drive it on the highway, the misfire disappears, or at least the vibration stops. As soon as I slow down, the misfire comes back - eventually stalling and being very hard to restart. No code. No Check Engine Light. I have replaced one bad coil pack. I'm replacing plugs and coils packs this week. Ordered a new injector in case one is bad. At $122 each, I can't afford to replace all of them at once. I want to clean them all first and see if that fixes the problem.
Lincoln Trewethey for some odd reason after only 20k miles all 8 plugs were burnt off. I replaced all 8 again and car now runs fine again. Just hope I don’t have to replace them in 20k miles again. Checked all 8 injectors and they are ticking just fine. So definitely start with the plugs and coil packs since they’re cheaper. It’s rare for an injector to go out unless it’s several hundred thousand miles.

generic wireless bluetooth obd2 scanner.. 10-15 bucks not sold in stores because it would make all the ones you buy out the store go out of business. I have a guy that buys them on ebay for me.
Iam currently having the same exact problem with my 2005 Town Car. I have no idea what is wrong or how to fix it. At speeds 50-60 the car starts to jerk, sputter, shake while driving. Service engine light came on. On Saturday i got a P306 code cylinder #6 was misfiring (according to cpu diagnostic tester) so i changed the spark plug and coil pack with a brand knew plug and a brand new coil pack. It stopped sputtering at idle and smoothed out for ONLY ONE DAY. ONE DAY LATER The car started shaking and misfiring again. I tested it and it gave a cylinder 1 misfire code 🤦🏾♂️. The car was shaking like crazy, jerking, Service engine light came on all over again. So Yesterday i replaced only the spark plug in cylinder 1 with a new spark plug. Currently the car has smoothed out somewhat. It does not shake at idel however when i drive at speeds of 50 mph the engine starts sputtering and shaking like in this video. When i drive faster it stops and feels smooth. Why does it only shake at 50 mph? Why? What makes this happed. I keep replacing spark plugs over and over to no avail.

how many fuel injectors did your car have on it? Also did the bad fuel inejectors cause your car to jerk around 35-50 MPH range? u said something about shaking?
2/8 bad misfire would increase with throttle at any speed 35-50 was bad yea. Spark plug was fouled out black and wet from getting too much fuel in cylinder 7 the other one fell apart.
To cure my cars slight shaking take apart the throttle body and intake plenum and clean those plus the Idle air control valve with rubbing alcohol.
Replaced MAF sensor from a junk car and that also improved idle greatly
Got the same problem on cylinder 7 from a coolant leak from bad intake gasket(I think😁). Bars leak fixed the leak but coolant had already gone inside the spark plug hole AGAIN. So I just need to replace the spark plug/coil and hopefully im good.

@@honchoryanc well when I bought the car 6 months ago the coolant leaked out of a tiny hole in between the intake manifold and engine next to cylinder 8. It flooded the spark plug holes and caused misfires in several cylinders. I replaced all 8 spark plugs and coils and the problem went away. But having not fixed the leak it started overheating as coolant continued to escape. That's when I put bars leak professional in the coolant reservoir and the coolant level has remained the same level since. So I will find out this week if replacing the spark plug fixes it, if not I'll replace the coil. But with coolant no longer leaking I should be good after that. Unless I floor it to redline on highway it's seems to make a hissing sound like maybe the seal is braking and letting pressure out and then re-seals itself. I'll find out tomorrow
Yep, just got bad gas at walmart in stillwater oklahoma and immediately after, my car is misfiring and shaking, check engine light is on now and it reads 2nd cylinder misfire.
I'd assume bad gas would cause a miss fire on more than just one cylinder

+Sean Hollingsworth Bad fuel injector that showed no signs off being bad, after changing that one another blew out. After those two injectors were changed the car ran perfect.. I dunno but it fixed it.

I have a 05 Town Car. Hopefully you guys can help.
Right now it accelerates in R no problem. When I try and use forward gears it’s like it’s in neutral. If I let it run for about 30 mins, then try D it works but when it takes off, it a hard jerk. Only does it when I’m taking off from a stop. And I take my foot off the brake it doesn’t go right away. I have to tap the gas for it to go. It jerks and then goes.
