An attacking midfielder who combined grace and stamina. The main man at the 1958 World Cup, eclipsing even Pele, he went on to win the 1962 tournament as well. The 'folha seca' (dry leaf) free-kick was a speciality of his.

Seeing many old footballers you see how they played a football different than how is today, but from this video I see how modern was Didi. Many teams today would make incredible results by having a box-to-box midfielder like Didi

I realized that Didi wikipedia page didn’t write a lot about him as manager. my first memory of football was when Didi was managing my team Al-Ahli from Saudi Arabia 77-81 and the team adopted very simple and elegant Brazilian football style. Fans loved him and players loved him too, and had few trophies in what considered the team golden ages
