Yep, the classic whirl of excitement to go hang out together. I have two and my 100% Wheaten doesn't do it, but my Whoodle (75% Wheaten/25% poodle) does it all the time.
I think he is happy, excited and energetic! He really wants to play! (with you, of course). I really liked when he made his circles. I think dogs do that action when they are excited and want to see that you are still there. My family's rescue dogs would do that also.
Missing my Pixie with all my heart. Trot is so much like her, it comforts me to watch your adorable video. Enjoy Trot every second you have your Wheaten in your life. Judy
I’m so sorry! These are such loving dogs. His energy doesn’t seem to wane though he can’t jump up on the bed anymore. He gets the run of an acre and every piece of furniture- so spoiled!
Beautiful beautiful video. That dog loves you heart and soul, and I know you love your doggy heart and soul. I have one! She is crackers and does similar things. She refuses to to come on in the house after playing with her ball - I shout "well get lost then you Moose!" and she does the same as your gorgeous Wheaton. I love this video!
Hi all - I have some very sad news for those of you who have enjoyed this video of Trot. He passed away Tuesday night, after a tumor on his spleen ruptured. We are broken and miss our boy!
My heart aches for your loss. I have a wheaten, Hershey, who is 11 years old, and now that age is starting to show on him, I can't help but wonder when he might leave my brother, my parents, and I. It brings me to tears, so I usually try not to think about it.
exactly - trot has serious separation anxiety. My wife put him on doggie prozac but it didn't really do much. he's 6 and a half now. Not mellowing with age!
This just looks like he wants you to go outside and play... the whirl is an invitation. He's barking because he can see you leaving and he doesn't want that. Pretty straightforward.
WHAT I LUV ABOUT THESE DOG'S IS WHEN WE GET A BIG SNOW STORM ALL MY WHEATONS THAT I HAVE HAD IN THE PAST , AND EVEN THE ONE I HAVE NOW , WHY IS IT WHEN IT SNOWS THEY LOVE TOO BURROW THERE FACE IN IT AND ACTUALLY PLOW THERE NOSE AND WHOLE BODY, LIKE A PLOW TRUCK THE ONLY UNFORTUANTELY THING ABOUT THIS MANEUVER WHEN THEY COME UP THEY HAVE GLUMPS OF SNOW-BALLS ATTACHED TO THEIR BODY, !! I WONDER IF THEY DO THIS TOO KEEP THEMSELVES COOL ??
This baby really wants to be with you, do you not recognize the whirling as an invite to you? The wheaton Whirl is very specific, just be with them!
They're great dogs, the only issue my wheaten has is he gets extremely excited when people come and go.

Thanks Judy - I will keep that in mind through all the craziness!
@DanKreiger Ikr?! I wish my Wheaten had that much energy again. She's 10 years old now!
As I said - separation anxiety! 50 people can be at a party and if one leaves he goes nuts. Trot gets lots of play time and is now 11! Doing well.

That's hilarious. And I thought by misbehaved. LOL

My Wheaten Myko whirls a lot too. Love it! :)
this is making me want a wheaten terrier so much more !! My mom won't pay for it though so I have to save up once someone actually hires me ):
I lost my 14 year old wheaten on Dec 4 to cancer. I miss her terribly. Now I look at wheatens on youtube.
Trot died Tuesday. We are very sad and feel your pain! He had 11.5 years with us.

Sincerely sorry for your loss. Clearly Trot was a dear family member.

I have a wheaten and he does the exact same thing haha
Trot is still pretty crazy....if we go away (and he has to go to the kennel) he poops in the house for several days to punish us.

My Wheaten just got very upset at hearing this video...that dog is definitely unhappy!
My pet Elephant saw this video and fainted.
