One of the best recordings of a P50 on RUclips, despite it not rotating you did capture the chopper inside well. Which isn't seen at all in many videos.
@RamFett I wish you would report to the news. With the projector only pointed in one direction, it is a real safety hazzard. I live on 61st and Hayes,a nd if that siren were rotating, I would have heard it in the house the other day when there was an actual tornado warning instead of having to go outside. Please let me know of any progress in this situation.
@kdksiren I don't know for sure, having never seen one of these beasts taken apart, but I'd guess that based on the weight of the siren a direct drive is the more likely of those two options.
You may have reported the malfunction to the Sheriff's Office, but to this date of 7/24/10, nothing has been done to correct the problem. I wonder if they even care at all? BTW: When these sirens are replaced, what happens to them? How does the average Joe go about picking one of these things up?
@barton1931 Sirens are clearly not a priority to them. Maybe I should report it to the news. WISN did a story on the P-50 at State Fair Park when it failed to activate during the statewide drill this spring, which got enough attention to have it fixed. As far as county-owned sirens (like this one), American Signal does the maintenance (what a joke that this is what they allow in their hometown) and reclaims removed sirens. As such, they seem to be out of reach from enthusiasts like us.
Boil for these are gonna be really big shoes to fill I hope they can find what they’re looking for the sirens 🌪️🚨 ❤️ good luck emergency management in Milwaukee in Wisconsin I hope you find what you’re looking for
What’s gonna happen to it? It’s bye-bye to the siren 🚨to goodbye, toyold yeller the P 50 in yellow in siren Jackson Park Milwaukee, Wisconsin 💛☹️👍1️⃣🌪️☹️ I will miss you You will never be forgotten.❤ goodbye old friend i’m surely gonna miss that yellow where will it go?
It it cost money to keep maintaining them. They always break so easily and they constantly needs fixing Would it be great if you could have a siren doesn’t need fixing? You don’t know what will happen. Keep on restoring them refurbishing them and restoration. Keep finding hard parts to keep it going. Sooner or later they’re gonna wear out. And then none of them will be working. It’s time to reserve these old beauties and all the old ones even the 50s unless the new ones have a crack at it Milwaukee and Wisconsin needs something that they can relie on

The p-50 is my fav air siren
I like the Federal signal 2001 siren.
I like the Federal Signal 2001-SRN. I also like the ACA P-50 too.
I also like the allertor siren
3:51 is that the spinnning chopper fan in it?.
Yes
You gotta admit that seeing the chopper spin is pretty cool.
That must have been painful.
This must have been deafening! The horn was pointed directly at you the whole time.

@Thunderbolt1000T The rotator is powered by a separate motor.
@videogamer24385 Nope. The movement you're seeing is the shroud flexing and vibrating from the sound and the siren swaying in the wind.
The P-50 was a much better siren than the new T-135. The T-135 sounds weak compared to these old monsters.
First video of a P-50 with broken rotator!
Do these have a setup similar to a T-bolt with a belt to rotate or like a direct drive?
@hootergirlsrhot No, this siren is no longer produced. ASC still advertises the Cyclone, though.
@JustInn014 I work for Milwaukee County and knowing the way things usually go with them, it's not likely to happen any time soon.
@kdksiren I don't know for sure, having never seen one of these beasts taken apart, but I'd guess that based on the weight of the siren a direct drive is the more likely of those two options.
Awesome video of yet another P-50 in Milwaukee. Too bad it didn't rotate. That must have been SO loud. I'm sure it can get fixed. )
@Siren1000T1 Yeah, a little bit. I had to let the camera film and use my hands to cover my ears.
@RamFett I'm pretty sure it is a direct drive
@mohkfry Not that I know of. I haven't near this siren recently to see if the projector has turned, either.
do they still make Penetrator-50 / Tempest-135?
No they don't they ended making them in 2007 with ACA.
They still make the ASC version of the p50
Is this siren still there?

can i use the audio for my homemade siren?
What we need is new ones Sierns and more coverage
I feel so bad for you ;(
At 0:47 you can se the chopper blades in the air intake pipe
Do you know why the rotator was broken.
Perhaps an old belt that needed to be replaced.
Yeah just like Rib Mountains T-135AC P-50.
What’s gonna happen to it?
Sucks that it didn’t rotate. I remember videos of this from when it did rotate. Nice catch!
Awesome P-50. Has this one been fixed yet?
It has a broken rotator for some reason!
@ricofojas2011 That's both relevant and delightful. Thanks.
looks like it is trying to rotate
2:57 Bye bye.

RamFett link??
now its acting like the Chrysler air raid that one didn't rotate
@barton1931 Besdies, I just got a Canon Powershot that I want to try out video on!!
@fireman746 I would definitely agree and I will always prefer the P-50, but the new T-135 is probably the best new siren any city could get.
I wish I had p50s where I live, the closest one to me is 1 hour and 10 minutes from my house, it’s in Hudson WI, I live in Minneapolis MN
That’s gonna be kind of tough good luck
its trying to rotate
@RamFett Nah, the best new siren a city could get is the Sentry 40v2t.
It sounds like a ACA cyclone
It used the same port ratio.
I could see the Motor DAMN THIS SIREN IS LOUD !!
You mean the Rotor/Chooper
lol ramett insted of ramfett
Haha yep. I didn't realize that until long after I'd lost the original video. So ramett it is lol
aca p-50s are awesome.
Agreed
Nice sideshow
It’s not a slideshow you can see the fucking chopper spinning and the horn bouncing in the wind
Boil for these are gonna be really big shoes to fill I hope they can find what they’re looking for the sirens 🌪️🚨 ❤️ good luck emergency management in Milwaukee in Wisconsin I hope you find what you’re looking for
@ricofojas2011 Yes.
We need something that we can count on and not keep on breaking down

Ouch...
Why is not spining?
Why is not? I dont know. I was unaware that sirens are supposed to spine.
