Shading only looks right when you follow the natural contours of the object. Notice how the shading lines are curved in order to follow the natural curve of the petal.
I was able to follow this tutorial pretty well and even though it wasn’t the best tutorial I could see what and where you were doing different techniques and then I could apply those to my drawing. Good tutorial.💕

Daffodil
i did everything right except the shading. I gave up on it and just did the picture. I did it right but still, i wish shading was easier lol.
Use a cotton bud to shade
You can draw like lines, then use your finger or a cotton bud to blend it on. Works for me c:
I could give u tips on shading I took a 2 year course at school for it lol
