I'll got watch the rest of the series, but ask my questions anyway. I'm hunting cow elk in Colorado gmu 38. I'm looking for videos to help me get familiar with elk habits, preferences, etc., when they move, where they go in various weather conditions, stuff like that. Anything you recommend? My season goes to Jan 31, still time to figure this out.
Good luck in that unit. Its right outside of Denver and thick with trees and steep mountains in the national Forrest. Cows will be lower and in fields and meadows near steams
Excellent video. Thank you for all the great information. I just finished my first DIY elk hunt in Colorado and scored on a bull during the third rifle season in Colorado
Thank you for the information! I’ll start my Vancouver island Ros Elk hunt at 25th this month. Waited six years finally got my LEH draw this year! Thanks again for the knowledge! You are the best!
Good information randy, I live in North west Washington the hunting is a little different than the areas you hunt. some of what your talking about is correct. I've used as much as I can to make improvements to this area I will let you know how it goes in November so far it's been hard to find there hiding place
Randy, we do not have elevation as a consideration for elk hunting in Manitoba so how would you distinguish rut, post-rut and late season locations in Manitoba? We have lots of shallow lakes interspersed with prairie marsh and Aspen/Oak forest with farmland when there is enough elevation for it to be dry enough for farming.
Awesome, thanks so much Randy! Love your stuff.
Good vid!
Great Video Randy. I have a late season bull tag in Utah that Starts Nov 9 this year. This gives me an idea of where to look. Thanks!
Ryan Calderwood You get one? Love hearing about fellow Utahns getting elk.

Anyone know if they find the same groups or different groups each year?
Nice video Randy. Ever thought of doing a series like this or the e scouting for mule deer?
