Tips to prevent mould as I have learnt the hard way. A lot of these are common sense but its worth mentioning.
1. Leave a good few inches between the wall and furniture to allow the wall to breath (this is important.)
2. Dont cover radiators with furniture. If you need to leave a big enough gap to allow heat to escape properly.
3. Keep bathroom window on the snib unless showering or taking a bath then open fully (this is a big one especially because of all the steam that builds up.)
4. Wipe away condensation on windows and then open the window fully for a few minutes to insure they are well dried.
5. Get a few damp traps (cheapest place is eBay as you can buy them in bulk cheaper than buying them individually in the poundshop or b&m etc.) Place 1 in each room and inside wardrobes. You will be surprised how quickly they fill up inside a wardrobe especially if you air dry your clothes instead of tumble drying them.
6. Open windows when mopping a floor until dry is also a big one as well.
Hope this helps :) if you try these tips then you should see results as it has worked for us xx
Amazing! Thanks so much for the tips, I was clearly clueless in the old house which is why we had the damp 😷 going to move some of my furniture today to allow for breathing! I hadn’t thought about wiping windows in mornings so shall do that, & also get more damp traps for wardrobe! xxx
Phoebe & Me Glad to help and it’s easily done as we made the same mistake with our first home and it would be a shame for you to have to repaint fresh new walls because of mould xx
To stop mould open all windows for 10 mins every morning because so much humidity builds up overnight especially if you live on one floor. And for 10 mins before bed to let out all the humid air which has built up throughout the day. We live in a flat and I have bought a humidistat which tells you the humidity inside and you want it to stay around 55% to avoid mould and damp. Take a look on amazon they’re only cheap :) also if you dry washing inside an electric dehumidifier will help speed up the drying time and get rid of all the water out of the air which is released as the clothes are drying; I use mine 24/7 in winter. They are around £100 but so worth it. Bathroom window always open on latch if possible and keep the extractor fan on for 20 mins after showering, leave the door shut so the humidity doesn’t come into the rest of the house. Also leave a few inches between furniture and walls x x
Never heard of one of those things before, will have a look and see if I can get one! Really hope we don’t have the issues here ☹️ I’m currently using damp tramps and they work a treat! xxx
don't let yourself think you won't have those wonderful memories that you experiences in the house, you'll take them with you and create so many more in the new house! Just because you don't have the same space doesn't mean you'll lose the memories :) p.s P is so adorable you can see so much of both you and Neil in her! x
I’m so glad I filmed our lives for 2 years in that bungalow! Will always have the videos to look back on too 😘 xxx
I would turn the bed round so the it’s in front of the window and have the tables either side x
Too cold by the window! Really happy where it is atm, works well ❤️ xxx
Great video Jess! House is really coming together now and looks great. U are such a great little family. 😊
Thanks lovely, we are all settled now! Excited for you all to see the house tour vlog 😘 xxx
Moving can be so very overwhelming. Unpacking, finding a place for everything, sorting everything out for the kids,....
you did a great job 👌 was lovely to see you settle in
Thankyou for watching, so happy it was over and done with quickly! xx
Jess, I never comment (not sure why!) but you’re my all time favourite RUclipsr. Whenever you upload, you honestly make my day. Phoebe is absolutely beautiful and It’s been incredible to watch her development! She is such an intelligent little girl. So happy for you, Neil and P with all the big changes that have happened for you over the last few months with the wedding and now the new house. It must have been a whirlwind and I hope you’re settling in okay. Thank you for sharing your life with us and keeping it real! By the way, I love the look of that dolls house! Hoping to see it in an upcoming video 😘
Aww this is such a special comment, thanks so much, so glad you enjoy the videos ❤️ don’t worry about not commenting, I don’t either 😂🙊 it has been one hell of a year but we are very happy! Thanks for all the support xxx
Having moved recently, the tiredness is overwhelming. I really do feel for you, it's a nightmare but it will all be worth it jx
Thankyou, it was hard but just got it all sorted as quickly as I could! xxx
I know just how you feel about leaving your old house. I was just the same, I was always finding faults when I lived in my old house, although I did live there for 28 years. Although my new house is so much better, I will never forget my old home. Good luck in your lovely new house x
That exactly how I felt, bitter sweet! But now we are settled in the new house, I absolutely love it & wouldn’t move back! xxx
For your cupboard space, I have mug trees on my work tops. It frees up a cupboard. New to your channel and loving your vlogs xx
I don’t like clutter on my sides which is why I haven’t got a mug tree 🙊 xxx
Phoebe & Me Okay. They can sometimes be a pain, but I was desperate for cupboard space xx
Been loving your moving vlogs. You’ve done a fab job! Can’t wait to see it all finished!
Thanks lovely 😘 house tour will be up soon! xxx
I made the mistake of putting furniture to close to the wall making it unable to breathe & causing mould but it's a mistake we all make & some houses are naturally damp. P as come on so much and is a credit to you xxx
That’s what I did at the old house, have done the same here so I’m going to pull out some bits today 🙌🏻 xxx
I hope you are all enjoying your new home and p is loving her big girl bed. Her speech is coming along so well. Xx
We love it so much! Thankyou, she’s such a chatty thing now! xxx
Phoebe & Me it’s beautiful to see, I’ve been binge watching your vlogmas videos feeling festive very early x
Make sure the air can circulate around the furniture and try a dehumidifier, we have to use one during the day xx
I’ve moved bits out now so they aren’t as close to the wall, fingers crossed it won’t happen in this house! xxx
Totally feeling your pain Hun, we've just moved from the house we've lived in for 27years, now our eldest son lives there, so lost house and 1st born all in 1 go! Lol, Good luck xx
Oh wow that must have been hard haha! Thanks for watching 😘 xxx
Was soooo happy when I saw this 34 mins ! Yey love a good long vlog! X
Thanks lovely xxx
I was so emotional when I moved house cause I had a homebirth with my second child in our old how and even now when I see the house (6 years after moving lol ) I still say it's my house lol I'm sure you will make a million new memories in you new house 😊😊
Awww bless ❤️ we do too when we drive past it! Although where we are now feels like home! xxx

Thanks so much 😘😘 xxx
It is stressful, but it will all come together. It’s going to look amazing xxxxx
Thankyou 😘 we are super happy! xxx
Early watcher been waiting for this video!!!!!!
Hope it didn’t disappoint! xx
Hi Jess. Your indoor plants need drainage to be fully healthy. So, essentially, not one 'sealed' pot (where the water and soil are in constant contact) but a pot with a hole in the bottom. And then a non-porous saucer - of some sort, to catch the excess water; and protect your furniture/surfaces.
Don't be afraid, also, to re-pot your plants into bigger pots.
For example.....that variegated Spider plant could be housed in a pot twice the size of the current white thing.
A watering tip would be.....to allow the top part of soil to dry out between waterings. And give all your houseplants a little feed once a month
Oh no that means I’m going to need to get new pots! I will re pot them at some point! Thanks for all the tips! xxx
@@JVCxo I know you're busy, so it can wait. Terracotta ones are good; but not the bases, for indoors (on furniture) as as they're porous. Get plastic or glazed material for the bases.
Congratulations on your new home! Can't wait for vlogmas in the new house ❤️
Thankyou lovely, eeeek me too! I need multiple trees! xxx
Omg P speech is really coming along isn’t it 😍 love your new place xxx
She’s a right chatterbox! Thanks lovely, hope you are well xxx
I'm still watching old videos 🙈 I don't know if you'll even see this Jess - but you have so many lovely plants AND a cat - our cat is obsessed with trying to eat my plants. Poor Norbert, our latest plant, has to live shut in the dining room, but he was bought for the living room. I'm guessing Whirly leaves your plants alone! I don't know if it's because he's still so young, our old cat never bothered. He's very cute so he gets away with it 😂
She hasn’t left them alone, I’m now down to 2 😂 absolute swine 😂😂
@@JVCxo oh no!! You love your plants as well! It's lucky these furballs are cute 😂 xx
Fab video. Best of luck for the new house. Can a ask where you got the boxes for moving please? Gonna have to move myself at Christmas 😭
Thanks lovely! All of my boxes were either from aldi, or work, was very lucky to get so many for free! xxx
Yessss. I've been waiting for this x
Hope you enjoyed it! xxx
YES xx I wait for your updates 😊 You're very much like me....when s**t needs doing you get it done!! Your landlord needs to pull his bloody finger out though!! Xx
We had same issue with the plug not working behind the washing machine! We have had to put a hole in the work top and put the plug through and use the plug above. It’s a nightmare! X
Such a chore isn’t it, luckily we got it fixed now! xxx
Hi! I'm new to your chanel but I Love it! ☺Let the Binge watching commence hahaha 😉
Welcome 😘😘😘 xxx
Yay hope you enjoy your new house ❤️❤️❤️
We are loving it, thankyou! ❤️
Amazing once again xxxx
Thanks for watching 😘 xxx

The new house is coming together so fast! I'm so excited that your doing vlogmas your vlogs are my favourite!! Also Aldi have orchard toys for £3.99 I know you get them from charity shops not sure how much you pay (so unsure if it's a good deal) but thought you might want to know! Hope you Neal and P are all settled in! Xxx
Aww yay, glad your looking forward to it, won’t be long! 😱 yep I saw them in the magazine, going there today to get some! 😘 xxx
Absolute barrel 😂😂😂 Never heard that saying before
😂😂😂😂
Goodness P's hair has gotten so long! X
I know! I need to get it cut 😂 xxx
When we was in our very first flat. We had mould all down the wall like u have in ur old place. We were told to keep windows in air vent.
I did, that’s what was sooo frustrating! xxx
I have no idea then. Luckily in our new house it's not happened.
A month from now you will be sorted & laugh about how stressed you were x
Less than a month and we were all sorted! :) xxx
Don’t put your furniture so close to the wall. Let the wall breathe, and keep the vents open on the window
Moving furniture today 😘😘
Great vlog xxx
Thankyou ❤️
You can get some stuff to paint on mold..the min you see some creeping in pop ur diy shop and say you need some abliterating builders contract mold paint on stuff...it’s mazing...oh if I lived a throw a stone away I’d of given u a hand ..ooh and if lil roooo snags sofa get one those clothes fuzzy off things for clothes ..you doin an amazing job with your gorg home and beautiful lil fam...lol laffed tho wen u said ...not dealing with Neil’s stuff ..Neil ..all I hear is Neil Neil lol...omg NEIL YOU GOT AN ABSOLUTE DIMOND OF A WIFE ...now make her a cuppa laaaa ...loves ya xxxx😘
Thankyou for the tips! Glad you enjoyed it 😘 xxx
Looks great with it all coming together 👌🏼😊 Air the house daily, even if it's cold to stop mould/condensation (maybe twice daily in the bathroom due to morning/evening showers). Also pull the furniture away a few inches from the radiators to encourage the heat to circulate the room & not burn the furniture too, so it doesn't feel so cold. Maybe get some wooden shutter blinds & thick curtains to retain the heat from the big sitting room windows too 😘
We burnt the sofa in the old house onto the radiator 😂😑 going to move out some furniture today! xxx
