first of great video. I have the exact same ones and they look awesome, especially with the smoke look. That said I noticed a safety concern during daylight and night. The static white LED (actually they are not DLR but position lights) part is way to bright making it almost impossibel for oncoming traffic to see the indicator LED blinking from the front angle. This is at daytime(white LED part is off) the same the angle is suboptimal for oncoming traffic. I already had discussions with drivers telling me why I am not using my turning signal. The indicator is only sufficiently visible starting a 30 degree angle and best at about 45 degrees to the side. You would need a separate layer of tinted smoke foil cut out to the shape of that DLR part to make it feasibly work. I personally changed my Bi-Xenon headlights with integrated dynamic turning signal. For the installation you would connect that specific wire to the indicator wire in the bumper. So i decided to leave that connection entirely and have the turning signal only in my new headlights. It turned out to be super cool looking. Those headlights with integrated LED DLR and dynamic turning signal is available for models with factory Bi-Xenon and with factory Halogen headlights. And also with static turning signal iirc They cost around 500€ I got them for 449€ + free shipping can be found at litec innovations online shop. The actual manufacturer is called SONAR. For Germany's TÜV they are allowed on the road.
@@Mannnncho1 so you have the headlights with integrated indicators I mentioned in my comment? If so you basically would need to take the wire from the position light that is responsible for the indicator and connect that one with the dedicated wire from the headlights. In my case there is the regular plug which is the same as OEM. Additionally there are a few dedicated wires with attached resistors (wire going in and coming out of a black square shaped flat box) which are for the integrated LED DRL and the integrated indicator lights. As I don't know if you have the exact same model headlights with same wiring I can't tell for sure but the principal is the same: you need to connect indicator wire from the position light at the bottom with the wire that is coming from your headlight which would be dedicated to the integrated indicator
@@AlexTheGrumpyOne Yeah, a lot dimmer. I sent a video to the company showing how you can only see the indicator when you are about 2 foot away from it. Just.
Does the while LED only work with side light switch on? Or it works when engine starts.. I have a problem now about this, since I like the white LED to be on when engine starts

Hi Alex, I want to do this upgrade but need a new part which is the part you carry over from the old lights that black seal... and for love nor money I can't find it do you know that name of that part ?? Cheers ! Great videos !!
Hi my 2009 sirocco big headlight won't turn off even when I put the button on 0. And on auto it's alway on. Do you know what it's? Is it DRL? And if I use this one will that change? And what switch do you turn the button to on ur one? Auto?
Does doing this mod mean your side lights (or whatever the light is that’s also part of the indicator unit) are always going to be on? Unfortunately I have a facelift R so suspect this won’t fit but maybe they’ll do one in future
AlexTheGrumpyOne I just realised the pre facelift those lights are always on. On the facelift they are just indicators. I guess will have to see if they come out with a new product, I think if I do the wing mirrors these have to be done as well or it won’t look quite right
@@AlexTheGrumpyOne Yeah I think there's no way to happen. I'm scared of all the horror stories when batteries catches fire nowadays. But then again this is not a battery, so... I am thinking of getting a scirocco, but prices went through the roof! Sighs..
@@AlexTheGrumpyOne mine is the 2015. The lights in the front bumper look like its one big unit. Shame cause those led's look really nice. Wonder if they will do a full unit to fit mine at some point. There seems to be more modified stuff for the pre facelift.
Oh thank you for sharing that info. I would definitely recommend sending them an email. Get I touch with James and he will help you. Yeah usually takes time to get more bits for newer models unfortunately
@@AlexTheGrumpyOne thanks mate, will wait for them to come back in stock, don't want to risk the ebay ones..I just ordered the wing mirror led upgrades after watching your video!

Thanks again for another great video !
Yeah improves the look definitely. Im well happy with it.
Cheers for your support 👍

Just got mine through the post. Off out I go to fit them. Cheers Alex for the guide!
Just fitted them but the indicators look woefully dim.. just emailed them about it.
Hi there. I'm sorry to hear that. They are not as strong comparing with the drl unit itself. Does your one looks dimmer then mine?
@@AlexTheGrumpyOne Yeah, a lot dimmer. I sent a video to the company showing how you can only see the indicator when you are about 2 foot away from it. Just.
Hmm. That's wierd. Maybe the unit is nit good
Как всегда доступно, понятно и профессионально. Большое спасибо за видео.

Legend, I'm gonna get these next
Cheers bud. They are pretty sweet!
Nice one! Just ordered 😅
Great video... I'm gonna get and fit these

The DRL kit is neat but I'm worried the blinker light isn't very perceivable while driving...

the additional wires connecting to this new kit .. is already there? or i need to get the wire configuration done?
All wires were there 😀
The 501 connector has corroded on my 2014 scirocco and only the indicator works now, do you know how to fix this? Cheers
Have you tried cleaning the corrosion with the contact cleaner?

Would this upgrade be an MOT fail?
This will not fail an MOT because its mot part of the headlight. If you put led in the headlight unit then it will fail
