    Assuming David’s fairly tall, you can see from the drone shots how big that barn actually is, he looks small compared to the size of the roof. As he said “it’s gonna look good no matter what”😊
    PS If I may suggest something, with so much wood, a lot of it exposed, you should get a bucket of fireproofing solution, it is applied before oil or stain and it helps stop a fire from expanding. In case there’s an accodent it will still burn but not burst in flames so you have time to put it out. I meant that for when you’ll finish the attic/guesthouse. from the inside.

      Comes from French word dormir meaning sleeping area. Back in the day that is how they made more room for children as they came . It was also cooler in the summer to sleep and catch the breeze to stay cool. We have a lot of older hms here in the South in US. It is actually very useful in the heat. Y'all are doing awesome job. Love y'all! Stay safe and take care!

    • @minime7375
      @minime7375 4 месяца назад +2

      It looks like a material called asbocement (not an accurate English translation but Idk the equivalent in English) that contains about 10% asbestos. It stopped being produced in the 80s or so but it’s an old barn so it’s possible the tiles contain asbestos. It’s not that dangerous for them though, it’s very dangerous when it’s a prolongued exposure inside (when it’s in the walls and ceiling).

      Its Cementboard, and its fine to handle, but cutting it needs protection. All cement products should not be inaled when cutting. Those Roofing corrugated panels are in excellent shape. Made to last..... like Mexican or Portugese tile.

    Do an angle roof from the beginning, flat roofs are so prone to leaking and it wouldn’t be a lot of extra work to do a small slope, also what is the roof made of? If it’s asbestos then maybe replace what you can with metal or other roofing material, I don’t know if grants are available in your country to replace asbestos it might be worth looking into 😊 you can buy test kits to check if the sheets are asbestos 😊
